Auto Service
The check engine light on my Acura RL had been coming on intermittently for the past six months. The car was inspected at the local Firestone and I was advised that a "Lean" error code was noted although everything seemed to work properly. I was asked if I filled the car with BP gasoline, which I did occasionally. The Firestone rep was glad to declare that the problem was bad fuel. The problem was supposed to gradually disappear as replacement fuel was introduced into the tank. The problem never went away and in fact got worse as the car would not start at times.
During the recent cold spells in central Ohio, the problem accelerated. The car was left at Morgan Auto as I previously had our Honda Odyssey serviced there as well. Greg Morgan thoroughly inspect the entire fuel system and ran a comprehensive set of tests to determine if the correct pressure was being measured at the fuel pump in accordance with the manufacturers specification. Quite honestly, the problem was intermittent, so it was not clear at first what was the correct course of action. Greg determined that replacement of the fuel pump and filter would be the recommended repair.
Following the repair, the car starts up with no hesitations and the check engine light has not illuminated. The experience was great and the repair restored certainty in the vehicle.
