They connected a gas line to an existing gas outlet in the garage about 2 feet from the outside wall. Drilled a hole in the garage wall, installed and sealed a pass through pipe. Connected this to the generator three feet away. This took three men 5 hours apiece. For this I was charged $999.50, $840 of which was for labor. i called Mr. Ranney and expressing my belief that these charges were out of line with the difficulty and amount of work performed. He refused to come out to my house to explain these charges and refused to adjust the bill.

Miller Ranney never disappoints... they find a way to work you in if your schedule is crazy. You also know they will not over-charge for services performed

I've had them twice for 2 different issues as I've moved from one home to another. They were more than accommodating to come out in a pinch. Their work is high quality, professional and their prices are fair and reasonable.

I had this problem in the 3 years ago, so I know what had to be done. Sean was professional and on time. He was here for about 45-50 minutes. He brought in the large drain snake machine and was able to break up the blockage within second. The only issue was the price. $345 for about 50 minutes of work. The last time we had them come out 3 years ago. Back then they put a camera down the drain to see what was the issue (about $220) and $270 for the cleaning. Now that I know the problem, I will go to Home Depot and rent the machine for $60 for 4 hours.

"This is our standard charge for a main drain whether it take 1/2 hour or 2 hours. This includes a service call labor and machine usage."

Friendly, professional. Used them several years ago so felt comfortable using again. However charges seemed excessive for time spent and work performed. Service charge and labor was nearly 70% of total.

Overall a positive experience. Setting up the appointment was a breeze but the plumber arrived later than originally given. After I called to inquire I was told there was a good reason for this but I shouldn't have had to call - they should have called me. The plumber did good work and found another problem lurking and fixed it as well, which I was thankful for. This made the job take extra time and he had to go to Home Depot twice. The new hookups work great. I'd use again but wasn't blown away by the service.

When my 5-week old gas hot water heater died, and because I have several cat litter boxes in the basement, was not likely to go more than 5 weeks in between sensor failures I asked Miller Ranney to rip it out and replace it with a more reliable solution "today".  Barry went above and beyond to make me happy - I was livid when I learned the 5-week old tank would never perform in a basement with a cat liter box (cat urine in a litter box 10-ft away will trigger a sensor to shut the system down).  I called 10 electricians before I found one that could come out and put in the needed 220 line.  By the time the electrician arrived, Barry was back with an electric hot water heater and a helper to install it.  I will continue to use and recommend Miller Ranney.  They stepped up and made my day.  After 4 days without hot water - I was not a happy camper.  Barry took care of me.  In fact, Barry deserves a raise.

Their service was fine except that I feel the charge was too high for a relatively simple, quick job. The technician was fnished and gone within 10 or 15 minutes. He ran into no unusual problems.

5The following complaint is with service provided by Miller Ranney Plumbing Company.  The service was performed as a result of a home warranty claim we have on our new house.  The second day we were in our home, we noticed water around the base of the master toilet on the 2nd floor.  We called our home warranty company and they contacted Miller Ranney who sent a technician to look at the problem.  The technician determined it was a faulty seal on the toilet where it connects to the floor and replaced the wax seal.  After this we gave our son a bath in a different upstairs bathroom and the toilet was flushed in the master bathroom to test it.  We went out for about four hours and when we returned, we noticed water again around the base
of the master toilet upstairs and water leaking through our kitchen ceiling.  We called the warranty company and again they sent a technician from Miller Ranney to fix the problem.  It was a different technician this time and he decided to replace 2 wax seals (one for the toilet and one for the pipe the toilet connects to.)  The technician tested the toilet for leaks and assured us the toilet should not leak.  However, later that evening the toilet once again had water around the base of it although no more leaked through our kitchen ceiling (we emptied the toilet bowl and tank of all water immediately).  This time when we called our warranty company, they contacted a drain specialist to see if there might be a clog somewhere in the piping causing the issue.
He determined there was not, but when he inspected the back of the toilet he noticed the back bolt that connects the tank to the toilet bowl had not been tightened all the way and there was a stream of water flowing from it down to and around the base of the toilet.  This man, who was not a plumber, upon a quick glance at the toilet, had finally identified the issue.
Once again we called our warranty company and they contacted Miller Ranney who sent out the same technician from last time (no. 2) and he replaced all the bolts holding the tank to the bowl which finally solved the issue.  When I tried to obtain compensation from Miller Ranney for the damage to our kitchen ceiling, I was contacted by a customer service agent who said she had spoken to the owner and he determined that there must have been water preexisting to them coming out the first time
which caused the leaky ceiling.  I have several issues with the way this was handled.
1.      There was not a huge amount of water that leaked through, only enough to cause an area of damage about 2 and ½ feet long and about 2 inches wide.  If water had been sitting there for some time, then the water damage would have been more
extensive.  Nothing else in the house leaks and all drains function properly.  The only possible way this could have happened is with the work that was not done properly the 1st time with the upstairs master toilet.  Nothing was noticed upon home inspection which was obviously done shortly before moving in.
2.      If there was preexisting water just hanging above the kitchen ceiling, then the problem was definitely made worse when the toilet wasn?t repaired properly the first time.
3.   It took 4 visits by this company to fix a faulty bolt which should have been looked at once the toilet was put back together at
the 1st visit.  It took someone who was not even a plumber to identify the problem.
4.      I did not get to speak to the owner on this issue and would have at least liked an in-depth explanation on how he thought
this was not caused by his company?s work.
Due to this experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone.  If I had replaced the seal myself, we could have avoided the damage to our ceiling because I would have been more thorough then Miller Ranney Plumbing.
