She was very helpful and seemed knowledgeable but she kept steering me towards certain products like she steered me away from composite granite and steered me towards granite and from a certain company which I didn’t appreciate. She wasn’t open-minded and let me to believe that she was getting some income from these companies. The one thing was, I was trying to pick out the back-splash tile after the counter was in, I wanted a shiny glass back-splash and she steered me to natural clay cheap tiles but then they look very cheap. I asked her if they would stain easily like grease or oil and she said you cup them so that you won’t be bothered by any cleaning because they are going to be coated but in fact, the coating left a stain on the splashes and didn’t come off, it was very poor. It was quite disappointing and I wonder why she steered me towards this very cheap back splash tiles. I should have almost had them taken out. The caulking by the sink is not adequate to protect the granite, it is cracking already. That was inexpensive. Her subcontractors don’t seem to care, they make a mess and her electricians don’t seem to know how to put in under cabinet HID lights and the tile people were quite bad, she had to provide the drop cloth. She was professional. I have not had a sub contractor before and the people she hired were not professional.

I wish there was a grade higher than and quot;A.and quot; This was an A+++++++ job! It began with a visit from Penny Whittaker who helped us with the design of the project. We quickly selected a granite for the countertops, chose a color for the new sink, chose a cabinet color to match our existing 30-year-old cupboards, and had a visit from the cabinet person who helped us modify our plan for maximum storage and appearance. All this was done with the help of Penny Whittaker who then did all the ordering, scheduled all the work to be completed and kept in touch with us about progress being made. When it came time to select a microwave/convection/vent hood, Penny was very helpful with websites to look at.
We were very pleased with the timeline of our job and how efficiently it was completed. Dave was the man who did the installation work and the painting touch-ups. He also went to great pains to cut tiles so an existing tile mural was saved and the top replaced exactly so it looked like it had never been disturbed. His work was meticulous. He has worked with us several times in the past and his work is always of the highest quality. He covered our floors so they would not be damaged through the process and always cleaned up after each work session.
We appreciate Whittaker's way of detailing all the work to be done and how much each part of the project will cost. When savings are realized (Penny got us great deals on the sink and microwave), these are subtracted from the cost. When we requested an extra service this was also written out with a firm cost. Everything is above-board with no surprises as the contract and costs are clearly written and initialed as the process went on.
We have worked with Whittaker several times in the past and have always been pleased with the planning and completing of the projects. We contact them whenever we want work done, because we know we will get good, honest treatment and excellent results. We also recommend them to anyone who is planning home improvement projects.

There were parts of their work that we were pleased with, but overall, we were very disappointed. There was important information withheld that caused a lot of unanticipated charges. There was water leakage during the winter months that was caused by the way that the room was designed. We tried to resolve the issue with Whittaker's owner, but were unable to remedy the situation. We had to use another company to fix the problem, which cost us an additional $7000.00

They were wonderful from the beginning. The guy that came out to give the quote and the workers that came out to do the work were all excellent. I was very comfortable to work with them. They were the best, the price was under budget and their work was exemplary. They helped with me in selecting colors and designs. They kept me informed as what was happening.

AS FAR AS THE PRICE, I DID NOT GET AN APPLES TO APPLES COST COMPARISON BUT THE QUALITY OF THE WORK WAS OUTSTANDING. OVERALL A VERY POSITIVE EXPERIENCE.

EVERYONE WAS UNIFORMLY PLEASANT, COURTEOUS, PUNCTUAL, AND WILLING TO ANSWER QUESTIONS. THIS INCLUDES THE DEMOLITION CREW, THE ELECTRICIAN, THE PLUMBER, THE PAINTER, THE CARPENTERS, AND THE OWNERS AND OFFICE STAFF. STEIN, THE FOREMAN, STANDS OUT, THOUGH. I CAN''T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT HIM AND HIS INTEGRITY, CRAFTSMANSHIP, AND PERFECTIONISM - A GREAT GUY ALL AROUND. THE CREW SHOWED UP WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD, MINIMIZED THE DISRUPTION AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, CLEANED UP EVERY DAY, AND MADE THE ENTIRE SEVEN WEEK PROJECT AS EASY AND AS ENJOYABLE AS POSSIBLE. I WOULD DEFINITELY USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

WE THOUGHT THE CARPENTRY WAS WONDERFULLY DONE. THE SUBS DOING ELECTRIC AND FLOORING LEFT MANY PROBLEMS TO BE RESOLVED. THE COMPANY DID A POOR JOB IN FOLLOWING UP ON SUBS'' WORK WHICH MADE A LOT OF EXTRA WORK FOR US. THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY IS DIFFICULT TO DEAL WITH.

OUT OF THE FIVE BUILDERS WE INTERVIEWED, ME WHITAKER PROVIDED THE MOST RESPONSIVE AND POSITIVE EXPERIENCE. NOW THAT THE DESIGN PHASE IS COMPLETE, WE LOOK FORWARD TO THEIR BUILDING OUR $100,000+ ADDITION

EXTREMELY HIGH QUALITY WORK; ALWAYS SHOWED UP ON TIME AND RETURNED CALLS; THIS CUSTOMER DESCRIBED HER EXPERIENCE AS THE "OPPOSITE OF A HORROR STORY". SHE COULD NOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THEM.
