Great - Mr. Holtzapple was very knowledgeable and spoke with me for about 15 minutes on the phone first. After explaining what was going on with our home, he said that it didn't sound to him as if we had a structural problem. However, because we were about ready to drop $15-20,000 on piering up our foundation, we wanted an expert third-party opinion. He said no problem, he was just trying to save us money. I told him $150 was nothing compared to the expense we had in front of us, and it was well-worth it to give us the peace of mind, knowing we were doing the right thing. He came out the next day, and spent over an hour at the house, and explained that we did not have a structural problem. Cosmetic, yes, but our house was not in danger of collapsing or anything. What a relief! Now we do not have to spend $20K for something that doesn't NEED to be done, after all! Thank you, David!

I am in the process of selling my home and many people have been skeptical of buying the home due to the cracks in the basement, so I hired Korda as a structural engineer to evaluate the cracks. Understand that I live elsewhere and so I had to put all my trust in someone....David Holtzapple from Korda met with my Realtor, she informed me he was a little rude, but he did explain the cracks and confirmed that the basement needed columns installed to strengthen the walls. David also provided, in great detail, a write up of what needed to be done to strengthen the walls. The cost for this $250. I felt satisfied and hired a contractor to complete the job. I then hired David to return to the house, this time to meet my parents, which he did accommodate, and this made me very happy. This was on a Friday morning, and I believe he was trying to leave that day for vacation, so that was very nice of him. After meeting with my parents and throughly explaining the completed job the contractor did to my parents he then sent me documentation as proof that the walls were structurally sound. The cost for David to return and re-evaluate was $150.

He walked around and inside and gave me some ideas that I'll implement soon.

Dan did a great job at explaining what was settling, the relative low concern level, what to do to stop further settling, and generally made me feel I was in control of the situation. I now know to NOT be alarmed and have an action plan to prevent further settling.

Dave was wonderful to work with and extremely helpful! His advice was perfect - and when we discovered that we required an addendum to our permit application - Dave came over for a 2nd visit, witnessed that we had made all changes to his specificiations, and that same day wrote a letter stating all of this (all for no extra charge). The city accepted his letter as an ammendment to our permit, which was extremely helpful and time-saving for us!

Extremely professional gentleman came out, instantly knew what the problem was and put my mind at ease. A superb resource.

I called Korda on the strength of the reports I saw on on Angie's List. Dave Holtzapple was very pleasant on the phone and made an appointment to come out the next day. He arrived a little early and was very friendly. He did a thorough inspection, and he told me exactly what needed to be done to fix the problems he found, including drawing me a diagram of the structural repair that was needed. He also said I could call him if I had any questions. He was very professional and competent. The peace of mind was well worth the cost of the inspection.

ONLY HAVING LIVED IN MY HOUSE FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR, I WAS UNSURE OF SOME MAJOR REPAIR WORK THAT MAY NEED TO BE DONE, ESPECIALLY TO THE FRONT PORCH WITH A FAILING ROOF. I FELT THAT THE OPINION OF A STRUCTURAL ENGINEER COULD BE OF SOME BENEFIT. THE REPRESENTATIVE WAS VERY COURTEOUS AND CONFIDENT IN HIS EVALUATION OF THE HOUSE. UPON COMPLETION, I WAS SENT A FULL REPORT OF WHAT WAS INSPECTED AND RECOMMENDATIONS. I DEFINITELY FELT MORE CONFIDENT IN THE DECISIONS I MADE AFTER HAVING THE HOUSE EVALUATED.
