KNOW Heating Ltd is licensed by the state of Ohio, LIC# 46100, to do residential heating, cooling, and ventilation with more than three times the required insurance for your protection. Permitting all installations our work is inspected by the city to ensure that it meets or exceeds local, state, and federal law. KNOW's technicians are all committed to outstanding customer service of the highest quality. Our technicians go through an extensive background check and random drug screening for your safety and peace of mind. $79.50 diagnostic, repair, system install, and any other work needed is determined by the job. After hours, emergency and holiday service available.

I expressed my concern with spending too much money on an old unit upfront and the tech agreed. There were a couple services which he could have performed, but he stated they were more preventative maintenance, and wouldn't likely impact the life left of the a/c unit, so he couldn't advise me to spend the money to perform the services. I appreciated the honesty and didn't feel like I was being nudged into purchasing a new unit.
I did inquire on installation of new a/c and furnace and the tech spent an additional hour inspecting my whole HVAC system to determine what my house would need rather than picking one out based on square footage alone. I would challenge anyone to find someone as knowledgeable as this technician was in HVAC design (very impressive).
Overall, I only spent $39.50. Angie's List has a deal for $39 which saves you $0.50, but hey as cheap as this is, why not just call them direct as they always honor the $39.50 and Angie's will get a cut of that $39 if you buy the deal through them. I'd rather give them the money so they can continue honoring that ridiculously cheap service fee.

Then he started talking about the difficult installation, the work-arounds, the upgrades he was going to "give" me because his boss would never know... definitely not okay. Like everyone, I like getting a good deal, but I want an honest good deal, not some sort of sneaky deal.
I called Wolfe and Sons. They installed a comparable, name-brand furnace (same efficiency rating & guarantee). They did not claim there was anything unusual about the installation, they did not offer me any "off-the-books specials" and it cost me $1000 less than KNOW would have been. They even called me recently to follow up and are going to come out free-of-charge to make sure the a/c is working properly with my new furnace.
