"[Member Name Removed], We strive to make all of our customers happy. If we failed your expectations in anyway I do sincerely apologize! Your constructive criticism will be taken into consideration. Thank You, Management"
"[Member name removed], We are very happy to hear of your satisfaction with the completed work. Our many years in this industry are based upon our clients feeling like they got everything they wanted from a contractor… and more!! We wanted to apologize for the scheduling issue with the gentleman here who did your tile work. Unfortunately, the weather had caused state-wide school closings and delays that day and he was unable to find someone to watch his young child that day in particular. We are glad that we were able to get him out soon after though but understand that it can be frustrating. Please know that our phones are always open to our clients before, during, and after the project is completed. Please let us know if there is anything you need regarding this! Thank you so much for your review!"
To begin with, they were much later in starting the job than promised. It was supposed to take a total of 3 days...it took 10! The kid they sent, while nice, needed help but didn't receive it. He would tell me that so and so was coming that day, but they never showed up.
The day after they finished, I sat in a different chair in the kitchen and noticed some of the drawers looked crooked from the side. I called and spoke to one of the owners who had finally showed up to help the kid finish and collect our check, and he said the kid should not have installed the little plastic bumpers on that style of drawer. He further stated I could remove them. I took off 2 on one drawer and decided I didn't want to do that.
Later that day when I turned on the dishwasher, it would not fill. They had incorrectly hooked it back up after putting in the sink!
Two nights later, I heard a loud "POP" from my kitchen. The ceramic top on my stove cracked all the way across the cook-top. The kid had yanked that thing in and out so many times it put such stress on the ceramic it busted!
There is a piece of trim that is loose at the top of my cupboard and a small area right at eye-level where 2 cupboards come together that isn't right.
We finally got the plumbing run to put in a gas stove (something the owner called "too small of a job for him to bother with") and we bought a beautiful, standard size gas stove. However, it would not fit into the opening for the stove. My husband had to take off part of the trim on the side of the counter-top just to slide the range in. The opening was less that 30" at the front and over 31" at the back. While installing the new range, we learned that some of the white covering put over the bottom of the cupboard below the sink and beside the stove was sticking out, so when the stove was moved out, part of that covering broke off.
But what really got us going was one of the drawer fronts fell off. Just fell off! Then we learned the kickboard under the sink cupboard was just leaning up there and not nailed on.
I emailed Kitchen Fronts but heard no response. I called them the following week and "the lady who checks the emails" was not there and he would have her call me. I told him a drawer front popped off and the kick board was not attached. NO CALL. My husband called 2 weeks later and spoke to a woman who said that was definitely a problem and she would have them call us as soon as they were back in. That was 3 weeks ago.
The man who sold us this job, Bill Michael, is the one who started the company. He was a really nice guy we felt we could trust. He had great ideas for a number of jobs we wanted done in our home and he had the experience to guide us in the appropriate direction. I don't feel we would have had this awful experience had he still been working the field.
We are terribly disappointed and angry about the work we received from Kitchen Fronts and equally upset about the lack of caring and follow-up we have received from them. As I mentioned, we have numerous home improvement jobs to be done and were hopeful this company would fit the bill but they will never set foot in our home again and we will NEVER recommend this company.

"[member name removed], We would first like to apologize for our delay in beginning your project. We typically know what to anticipate when ordering our clients' custom-made materials for the job. Unfortunately, our supplier, in this instance, was running behind due to high-demand and this pushed back the start date somewhat. This is not typical, but does happen once in awhile when attempting to coordinate installation. As far as the project time-frame quoted to you of 3 days, this would have been typical for your job type. However, due to unforeseen circumstances while installing, other issues came up with your project which needed addressed. It is our goal to complete the job efficiently and to leave our clients satisfied. As you can tell from our ratings, it is not usual for our company and it's employees to receive such negative feedback. We are sorry that we lost your business but appreciate your constructive criticism. We strive to constantly improve ourselves!!!"
plenty of gouges over the almost 40 years we've lived here. Another problem that was slowly driving me crazy was the awkwardness of talking to people under the overhang cabinets. We entertain fairly frequently and I had grown very tired of stooping down to have a conversation with someone on the other side. It looked very 1980s. So we went to the 2012 Home and Garden show specifically to look at cabinet fronts. We talked with several vendors and gave our contact information. The people at Kitchen Fronts called in a timely way and we got the ball rolling with a consultation.
This was a very good experience. A knowledgeable representative came to our home and asked us plenty of questions about what we wanted from the project, telling us what could be done easily and what might take more effort. He spent about an hour doing detailed measurements and was likely at our home for about 1 1/2 hours.
Once we had decided we could afford the project, another person came to verify the measurements in a more specific way and the project was scheduled.
One skilled worker did the entire project in three days. There was minimal disruption to our kitchen operation and he cleaned up professionally each day. The new doors look wonderful and I love the pull-out drawers. They give so much more access to items stored that I have almost made up for the overhead cabinets I lost. The doors we had installed have a bevelled edge so no hardware is needed to open them, but after living with them for a year, I think I will have knobs and pulls put on. This was my decision, though, not a choice forced on me by the company.
My favorite part of the project is that our kitchen seems so much more open now that the overhead cabinets are gone.
Kitchen Fronts were great partners in this fairly simple but effective kitchen re-do. I'd hire them again without hesitation.
Felt very comfortable with the sales manager, that is why we chose this company. The contractor assigned to the job was not at all someone I would use again. His skill and attention to detail and finishing abilities was very poor. Wall still has damage marks from installation of appliance that were being installed that were dropped more than once (I even asked if I could help him), baseboard not attached to wall well and the cuts were not smoothed out and duct work carpentry made to hide vent were cut crooked and bulky. Items installed were crooked and cut wrong, carpenter stated he would mask it so you would not know it or it did not matter cause no one would see those flaws. That is not a statement that should ever be made to a client their home. This project should have only taken 5 days, but took a month. Some days he would not come and I would not hear from him, I would need to call the office to find out why no one was at the work site. That should not have been my responsibility to do that. I was so fed up that I just washed my hands of them and paid what owed because I just wanted them out of my house. In hindsight, I should have pressed for things to be corrected and redone but I did not want this peron to do any of the re-work and the timeframe to find another carpenter was up in the air when the sales manager said he would find someone else, after my kitchen was unusable and the appliances were in my living at that room at that point.
I do like the fact that my laundry is now hidden and I have additional counterspace, it was just below par workmanship.
They did a great job with the tiles on the backsplash in the kitchen as well as the bathroom. On the day the tiles were being installed, it was very cold (21 degrees) outside. The tile cutting machine had to be kept in our garage, with the door open. A tile cutter uses water and it kept freezing. I felt so badly for the tile installer because his fingers had to be frozen most of the day. You can imagine how often he had to go out there to cut tiles for both backsplashes. He could have packed it up and gone home for the day but he didn't! He kept working until every tile was on the wall. Both backsplashes look great. We have been very happy with the way our kitchen and bathroom look.
The best advice I could give anyone who is thinking of getting new countetops: Take your time in making a decision regarding the countertop materials. There are so many options out there and there are pros and cons to every type of countertop.
All the people I dealt with from Kitchen Fronts were as nice as they could be. They don't subcontract their work so everyone who worked in our home was an employee of the company. They made the transition go as smoothly as possible. We were very happy with the whole experience.
