About us
JAMES M. HARTLEY ELECTRIC, LLC is a reliable OHIO LICENSED residential electrical contractor for 19 years servicing the Central Ohio area. We are a small Company that provides individualized service to our customers. We take pride in our work and treat your home with respect. We do not subcontract your work out to other companies and do not use subcontractors. Our work is performed in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC). In Ohio, IT IS ILLEGAL TO DO ANY ELECTRICAL WORK WITHOUT AN OHIO LICENSE, yet there are many companies without an electrical license that call themselves "electricians" advertising to do electrical work and offering what they describe as "deals". In Ohio, the electrician is required to have their license number in every advertisement. Be sure to look for that Ohio License number as it is your guide that the "electrician" is licensed in Ohio. As part of the Ohio license renewal, all applicants must have at least the minimum limit of insurance and required class study to help protect the consumer. Our insurance exceeds the minimum required limit. We strive to provide the very best in quality and service to our customers. Do not settle for less; call us for your next electrical project in central Ohio. License Number: EL.30229

"Thank you so much, I really appreciate the review. It was a pleasure meeting you and I hope to hear from you in the future"
"Thank you so much for the wonderful review. It was a challenging job but I really enjoyed it."
"I apologize for not meeting up to the standard you had hoped for. I wish you had called previously to this review, I would have been more than happy to refund your payment. Let's review the service call. We had discussed the issue in detail and I explained the difficulty using a wire locator when the ground is so wet. With snow on the ground, the device tends to pick up signals in a larger area, making it difficult to pinpoint an exact location. You were with me the entire time and you did see where the locator was showing the signal. Had we waiting until the conditions were more favorable, I'm sure we would have found the correct location. On that same note, not one time did you mention the light stopped working after you planted a new tree, that would have been a really good bit of information. We were together for over an hour and not one word about that. As for your grades, I understand you not being happy about the outcome, thus the Fs in price (although I would have totally refunded your payment) and quality but never did you have a problem with Responsiveness, Punctuality or Professionalism. Again, I'm sorry for the outcome, hopefully this explanation will ease some of your thoughts towards our company."

"Thank you very much, as a consumer myself, I know how easy it is to be taken advantage by some companies. We strive to treat all of our customers with honesty and integrity. I hope to hear from you again."
"Thank you, it's been my pleasure to work with you all these years"

"Again I apologize for the scheduling issues but I did have the lamp post done before Thanksgiving as you requested, as for the other lighting, I had to locate and order (on my own time) the light fixtures that you had requested. These lights were very specific and took time to find, then still had to be delivered. By the time they came in, we were into the holiday season which turned out to be a scheduling problem for the both of us, in addition, the weather turned very cold and restrictive for outdoors work. During holidays and inclement weather, I need to focus on emergency repair calls. I did offer to install the remaining lights at no cost, which you declined and I offered to supply you with the material for another electrician, at not cost, which you also declined. I'm not sure what else I could have offered. As for the pricing, you at no time ask for an estimate or my hourly rates. These I am always willing to offer whenever ask. I did discount your bill as I noted in our last email and on the invoice. As for the last issue, the itemized bill, I provided you with all my itemized costs in our email dated 1/24/18 which you did receive and respond to on 1/27/17. I truly am sorry that we couldn't correct this issue to your satisfaction but I guess we'll just have to part ways"
