Very well, no issues.  Installed promptly and at a fair price.  Also adjusted garage door opener at no additional cost.

Very happy with Jims work. He was able to come out the next day after we called and did an outstanding job installing the new door opener and springs. He did not just use the old mount for the opener but rather installed a new bracket that was much stronger. Highly recommended.

We bought our home from an estate sale. The garage door just looked like it was about to collapse under its own weight. Also, the opener didn't have any of the safety features we need with two little kids. Mr. Fortner balanced the door so it opens an closes smoothly and it looks normal. He also installed a new garage door with the sensors. We were very happy with his service and would use him again.

Everything went very well. The garage door was not closing every time it was lowered. Mr. Fortner determined that the door was bowed, which was breaking the laser beam across the bottom. He changed one of the two laser devices and relocated them slightly, which solved the problem. He said that if the door bows anymore, we would need to replace it. He suggested a couple of door options as well as a suggested retailer to purchase it from (he was not affiliated with that store), and said that he would be glad to install it when the time came. Not pushy at all.

Year ago bought garage door opener from a hardware store - that store contracts with Fortner to install these. I was lucky they assigned him my job and was really impressed with his work at that time and asked for his card. I recently noticed that the door seemed very noisy and seemed to struggle to open. I suspected that something was wrong. In a phone call he told me some things to check and lubricate first before spending money on a service call but I wanted a pro to look at it. He could have solved the immediate problem by just adjusting the spring tension but as he told me when he installed the opener last year two springs were recommended for a double door and the one spring I had was a "galvanized" spring that is of lower quality. When installing the springs he discovered the damage to the door. Left un-repaired the damage would have worsened to the point that I would need a new garage door. I rated his price as "good" because I don't want to give the impression that he was cheap - yet I am sure it is lower than larger companies even with their senior discounts and coupons. [I won't turn down a senior discount if it is offered but I don't think I am entitled to a lower price just because I am old. People with kids to raise likely need a discount more than most seniors.]

Called right back, scheduled immediately (next day), arrived on time, performed all tasks, cleaned up the area. Estimated charges were exact. Great to work with, will hire again when we need a new door or related work.
