There is no doubt that the event ran smoother because we had an event planner. The team took care of a lot of day-of questions so my wife and I did not have to worry about them which was very helpful. The wedding planner was not particularly open to suggestions from us that were different than how she thought things should go and in a few cases had to be reminded to check on it anyway and look into things that we thought were possible. The wedding planner actually made very good recommendations for a band and caterer; two of the bigger vendors so that was very helpful. Her personality was a little abrasive at times; she was a little young and I think her social skills will improve when she gets a little more age and experience on her. At the end we were satisfied, but barely, with what she did. If we knew all of what we know now at the front end, while she was good at some important pieces of the day, we think she could use more polish and we have questions about re-engaging her.
