After I posted the first review, I eventually received a letter of apology (three months after the initial problem) confirming that it was I who closed the account, not Huntington, so I was finally able to rest easy regarding my spotless credit history. They did manage to delete the fraudulent activity from t he card, and I considered the affair over. On December 18th of this year, I received an email from Huntington, asking me to choose my rewards category for the card that was closed a year earlier. I was alarmed, and called the bank. I was told that the card was "closed, but not closed"--whatever that means. The voice mail prompts DID show the card as active, but the customer service representative said it wasn't, but that for some reason is still showed up on my list of accounts. No one could tell me why it was still there. I got out my letter of apology from last January. It was signed by Amy Justice and listed her phone number, 614-331-8162, with an invitation to call her if I had any further questions. I did that. An extremely rude man named Dave answered. His voice mail identifies him as David K. Scott. He refused to tell me how to reach Amy, even though I suggested he consult his employee phonebook. He refused to give me the number of her department, the Priority Response unit, so I could find out who had replaced Amy, and how to reach her. He said it wasn't him, so if he was telling the truth, her number had been reassigned. He appeared to never have heard of the Priority response Unit, and refused even to give me the number for corporate headquarters, so I could ask an operator for assistance. I tried customer service next, and reached a nice young man named Bryan, who did what the rude employee named Dave had refused to do--he checked the employee directory and tracked down the head of the Priority Response Unit, and gave me her name and number. I tried to call her several times but kept ending up in voice mail. I decided to just go into the Westerville Branch on State Street and speak with the manager there. Tonight I got home from a holiday gathering to find a new credit card in my mailbox from Huntington. They had reopened the account, and sent me another card--AFTER all this occurred! I had no idea it was coming. Anyone could have gotten it out of the mailbox while I was gone all day, and I never would have known a new card from Huntington was out there with my name on it---and given their previous track record, had anyone activated and used it, they would have billed me for the fraudulent charges, because their policy is NOT to delete fraud, but to put the charges into dispute, as if there were a disagreement between merchant and customer. Crazy, I know, but this is how they handled it the last time, which is why I cancelled that card to begin with in October of 2014. I immediately called customer service, and this time I spoke with someone named Rob, who promised to send it up the line tomorrow. In the meantime I have filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and will be taking all my documentation in to my local Huntington branch tomorrow. In the meantime, I am EXTREMELY concerned about cards I don't know about floating around with my name on them, which I have not authorized, on accounts I have not opened, from a bank that doesn't take fraud as seriously as I do.
Description of Work: They reopened a closed account WITHOUT my authorization, and sent me a new credit card AFTER I notified them of their blunder. See my previous review from 10-23-2014. The nightmare continues.

They do not charge us for their services. They charge us interests on the loans, but that is not the same thing as charging us a fee. My reason for recommending them is that you can get all your banking with no charge.
Description of Work: We use Huntington Bank. We have two savings accounts, a checking account, mortgage and home improvement loan with them.

After paying for the service for approximately four months, I checked my status on the ID website. I discovered that I was not being adequately monitored; e.g., my Social Security number was not being tracked even though it was part (the major part, in my opinion) of the service. I called the ID company about it. The representative tried to help, but she couldn't access all my records. She got back to me via email about five days later, but her response did not address the problems. I emailed the ID company to try to get the problems solved--to no avail. The responses were pathetic and seemed to be automatically generated. At one point I asked for my money back, but they did not respond. Then I emailed Huntington directly and told them about the problems I had been having. The reply was that they would advise someone of the complaint; the reply cheerfully ended with they were glad to be of assistance. Again, no mention of the refund. No apology for their negligence and for my inconvenience. I have been banking with the Huntington for more than 30 years, and never have I received such abysmal service. I believe that if one purchases such a product through them, they should step up to the plate and take responsibility and ownership of the problems.
Description of Work: I signed up for ID theft protection through the Huntington; the cost was $12.99 per month.

I don’t have any complaints or anything out of the ordinary. I've been using them for 25 years probably so I am satisfied whatever they've done. There certain no worse than any other bank and of course I don’t say any interest with them who does. I think other than except for they're not paying any interest on my account or anything like that but as reasonable in fact I think they probably charge less in some situations than other banks do but I don’t know those things are because I don’t know but I just I think that’s true I think there a lot of things they don’t charge me for that other banks do but I’ve had occasion to be bother about any of those things so it’s not an issue for me. Customer service is very good like if I need to see the personal banker I can get one on the phone or can stop by there office. I generally do it by phone if I can that doesn’t involve any waiting or anything. The only complaint I got with them is that sometimes you have to wait quite a long time for a simple transaction.
