Our primary issue was the timeliness of the work progress which was painfully slow and not at all in line with what was promised. Daily clean-up was very inconsistent, depending on which craft was in the house that day.
Our sense was that Greg (owner) was not as active as he needed to be in terms of visiting the project and correcting problems as they arose.
For a project of this size, we would not recommend this company.
"Well, it has been quite a while since I've been on Angie's List, as you can tell by my 2 year late response to this review. Here is my response to this inaccurate review. We used to do work for The Great Indoors, and this project was one of their projects. Technically this was not even a Housmith project. They were making some drastic changes the last 12-18 months before they closed their doors. With TGI projects, they sold all of the material, supplied a project manager, and a designer. On this particular project, we were the installers, not the GC. We were not able to coordinate the job or communicate with the customer like we would on a typical Housmith project, or even a TGI project up to the beginning of 2011, before they changed their policies. With that said, [member name removed] threatened me with a bad Angie's List review, the first time we met at his house stating "I know you're on Angie's List so you better hope this bathroom project goes smoothly". This project had a few minor hick-ups, as any major remodel project does but, the biggest delay was when [member name removed] decided to choose another tile for his kitchen at the last minute, and of course there was a 2 week shipping time on the tile. Also, I was on site overseeing this project as much as any project. There were 2 instances where [member name removed] left a note about tile layouts that were already remedied. He was never there to talk to me, he just left sticky notes on tile work that was 20% done assuming that the layout was not right. As anybody can see by reading any of our AL reviews, we do top notch work. This is an unfair, inaccurate review of Housmith. If you are thinking about using us, please call and I’m sure you will be more than happy with what you find."
