My bathroom fan was dripping water in the wintertime.  I found that the ductwork was not attached to any outside vent. I called for an estimate, they were very prompt and came to our house at the appointed time.   I purchased the new fan.  He installed a vent duct in the roof and ran ductwork down to the new fan that he installed.  He also removed the old one and cleaned up after.  He did a fabulous job and the fan works perfectly

Ando and his crew removed old indoor/outdoor carpeting from large area in kitchen & bath. Once they pulled it up they discovered the padding had begun to stick to the vinyl flooring underneath. They not only removed the carpet and tack strips but also scrubbed the underlying floor until it was clean.
In replacing the wax ring in an upstairs toilet he discovered and leak and damage to the wood around it. They stopped the leak temporarily and put the toilet back together and said they could come out again to repair the damage and permanently fix the leak.
We were very happy with the service.

Ando did the work quickly and well.  He advised us that a chimney extension might be needed to improve the draw and to seek out a chimney/ fireplace contractor for a consultation. I appreciate the depth of his knowledge on home repair subjects  and his willingness to admit when he is not an expert. at something. Both traits are valuable in a contractor.

Ando Johnson and his helpers finished the job quickly and at the agreed on price. They filled in the holes left by the support posts. They pointed out that the upper level of the deck now needed a safety railing on one side. They created a handrail from the pieces of discarded lumber that matched the look and function of the rest of the deck railings at no extra charge. They hauled away the debris and leveled the area. We are very happy with the work done.

Due to the age of the house, a number of electrical and plumbing repairs were needed. Ando inspected my house water and electrical systems to advise me on what may needfixing/changing. He is very knowledgable about home repair. I didn't even know that my sump pump had stopped working until he pointed that out.
The garbage disposal was rusted and had a bit of leakage on the underside.
Ando came over several times to take care of the problems.
He inspected my house water and electrical systems to advise me on what needed to be fixed/changed. He is very knowledgable about home repair and gave me advice on how plumbing and electrical things worked. On one of his visits, he had help from Ryan, who installed the three timer switches to replace older ones that had become unpredictable while Ando installed the new sump pump.
Reasonable pricing for the time and effort spent on the repairs. Older houses and fixtures present their own set of problems with rust and corrosion, and Ando was able to handle them quite well.
Ando does very neat work. He also tidied up the work areas afterwards very well.

I didn't get him do anything less. I have used him for over probably 8 years. We did all kinds of things with him. We started away in Grove City so we were calling him if we have a bunch of things to do at one time. He make it work and just keep coming out. The experience went pretty well.

The first time I called him, my voicemail got lost, but he did call me back. He was very professional. He painted my kitchen and dining room. He repaired some work for me that another service provider did, but who did not come back to finish the work. He installed a light fixture. He also repaired some tile work for me from where I had a new sink and countertop put in. I definitely plan on using him again.

Ando Johnson is the handyman. There is a lot to be done and about fifteen percent is done. There are five projects and the bathroom is the biggest project. He hasn't given us a price yet, he's coming by to do that. He's already done the toilet and some electrical work. He's very thorough and I like that. He gets back to me and he gives me an estimate. He won't charge me until after the work is done which is always good. He's a little bit more expensive but his work is good so it just depends on what we want. He does good work and he's a good worker.

A guy named Ando Johnson from Hometown Handyman came out and did the job for me. He is very responsive, punctual and very customer oriented.I met with him initially but I had a point with him that he works directly with the tenant and he's very courteous to the tenant and very customer oriented.

The bank-owned house we bought in 2010 needed a lot of repairs and maintenance when we bought it and has continued to need a variety of updates, repairs and maintenance since then. Shortly after we bought the house, we found Ando Johnson of Hometown Handyman through Angie's List and initially hired him mainly for some interior painting and a few other odd jobs. As we began to see how knowledgeable, skilled and professional he is, we since have tried to use him for just about every service we need around the house.
I really cannot say enough good things about Mr. Johnson. He is the consummate professional and really is an exemplar in the trade skills. He possesses every attribute you could want in a handyman. He is professional, courteous, responsive, smart, and highly knowledgeable across virtually every home repair-related area. The quality of his work is exceptional. He is something of a perfectionist, yet his prices are extremely reasonable. He makes sure the work is done right and will not stop until it is done correctly. He knows what needs to be done according to and quot;codeand quot; (often going beyond code if it's a better long-term fix) and has corrected numerous mistakes or sub-par work done by previous contractors.
He seemingly can do just about any kind of repair from the smallest fix to major remodels. But he is also very careful to tell you when he feels something is outside of his expertise and will tell you what type of contractor you need for specialized work. For example, he diagnosed the problem with a leaky skylight and made some changes to the flashing as a temporary fix. He is not a roofer, though, so he told us that we needed a roofer for a more permanent fix.
Because he does very high-quality work at such reasonable cost, I believe he is in high demand, as it can sometimes be difficult to get onto his schedule. I say that as a compliment to his work and the demand for him--not as a complaint. He is always very responsive to my calls. I just have to be realistic as to how much time he has available given the high demand for his services. Waiting for him to be available is definitely worth it, and we plan our bigger projects accordingly. We don't mind waiting on projects until he can work it into his schedule.
When there is something urgent, however, he will always make time for you. On at least a couple of occasions, we have called him about an issue that he thought was urgent enough that he came on his day off or after a full day at another job site just to take care of the issue. For small, quick and easy fixes, too, he does everything he can to work it into his schedule as quickly as possible. We just try to plan ahead with him for the larger, more time-consuming projects.
For any project within his purview, he is the only person we want to do it. I cannot recommend Ando Johnson (Hometown Handyman) more highly.

I bought a new kitchen faucet to replace the existing one. I called Ando in the morning, he answered the phone and confirmed he'd do that type of job, plus the fixed price of $100 for the install. He asked me a couple of questions, such as confirming I have a water shutoff under the sink. It was raining and he told me he'd had a couple of outdoor jobs cancelled, and if I was available that day he'd come out later that day. Told me he'd call back in an hour.
1 hour later Ando called me back. We agreed to do it after he finished the job he was on. He came out to the house a couple of hours later as agreed, and took care of the install. He was polite, professional, and did a great job. He kept everything clean, dry, and neat. He seemed very knowledgeable, and gave some advice on the faucet maintenance and potential issues with that model.
Everything has been working great since he left. No complaints, and I'd use Ando again for other jobs.

All work was completed well and Ando was friendly and seemed very knowledgeable. He provided a complete breakdown of the cost, including showing me a receipt for a few supplies (e.g., screws, siding cleaner, materials to patch the hole) that were needed.

Ando was very courteous and friendly. He did a great job; he was careful to leave the project areas neat and clean upon completion. His pricing for the project was very fair compared to the nature of the work done, and other quotes received. We will use him for many future projects.

Ando was very responsive from the initial phone call to the completion of service. He was friendly, professional, prompt and reasonably priced. Part of the job included replacing a dryer vent that required a bit of work outside. Unfortunately, it was pouring rain the whole time he was outside and he was soaked. He did not let it bother him and the finished product looked great. He also noticed a loose door handle on our sliding door, which he fixed in just a couple of minutes. I appreciated his attentiveness and will use Hometown Handyman in the future.

Ando did a great job! He was very professional and arrived on time. He consulted with me on options for several of the things that I asked him to do. I thought he was very reasonable for everything that he did. I was very impressed and will use him again in the future.

Hometown Handyman was represented by Ando Johnson. I called in early September 2011 and set an appointment. Ando came out two weeks (Sept 15) later for the appointment and talked with me about the stuff I needed for an estimate based on the list of things I showed him. He emailed me the estimate a few days later for $430, which I found agreeable. In that time I followed his advice, took back the door lock I had bought (it was totally wrong for the job) and bought another lock at a small place that had the door hardware I needed (Ando referred me to this small place and I located it on the internet) . He came out in early October to do the work, which took several days for him to get to everything. He asked my opinion on how my wife and I wanted the closet organizer to look, and he made the organizer look exactly like what we wanted. The kitchen drawer fix took a long time for him as Ando had to drive to five different stores to find hardware that would fit my older style kitchen cabinets. He then worked with me to figure out what type of mailbox I wanted. After talking to him I took back the mailbox I bought originally and got another one. He did a great job with the mailbox - he figured out how to put some custom numbers on my mailbox - which took him a long time to do. My neighbors have been complimenting our new mailbox since. Even though I had made a list of repairs beforehand, I also asked Ando to give my entire house and yard a lookover to see if there was more work to be done. Ando thought most things looked great, but he was careful to point out small things to improve the house that I could undertake myself.. He finished everything on October 6. The repairs went over budget, but Ando settled for $450, which I think was probably too fair to me! I had a great experience with Ando, as I now know a lot more about my house than I did before I met him.

Ando was very courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. His price was reasonable and he didn't demand money up front. That surprised me. He always answered his phone when I called. I have never had anyone work for me that was as nice as Ando. I was very impressed with him.
