My belongings were not properly secured in the truck. When we arrived at our destination, items had shifted dramatically in transit, including a chest of drawers tipping over. This caused damage to the chest of drawers, the dresser in front of it and several other items. Several thousand dollars worth of damage was done to our belongings. This was my third cross country move and the first time I had any damage whatsoever to my belongings.
When I contacted Jason, the owner, about the issue, he refused to take any responsibility for the damage. To add insult to injury, he double charged my credit card and two months later, has yet to refund the errant charge. Jason's handling of the situation and treatment were completely undesirable and unprofessional.
TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE COMPANY.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
The truck was packed only half full. They stated they could not add anything onto the truck because I had told them what I wanted added on first. Never a problem with any other reputable, professional companies. They did not take responsibility for any of their actions.
To sum things up, I am left with several pieces of damaged furniture and have to rent another truck.
It is not a real company, they do not provide contracts, and they have no insurance!
"Thank you for allowing Good Hands Moving to assist with your move. We do apologies for any inconvenience we may have caused. We were contacted through Moving.help.com to load your POD not truck. Moving Help is a labor only web site and the customer is responsible for providing all moving supplies. Good Hands Moving does supply insurance with all jobs. No contract was needed with your job because we had a binding contact with Moving Help to provide labor only for your job. Crew did ask several times for you to supply pad and rope so we could protect your items. No items were supplied at any time during your move. When doing a load only by law through the State of Ohio, the movers are only responsible for damages while items are in there possession's. Once we were finished loading, we received the ok that everything looked great. We were able to fit everything except three items due to lack of space. By any means we are not perfect. Good Hands Moving and it's staff tries very hard to make sure each and every customer is happy with there experience. Thank you for your business once again Good Hands Moving"
The experience was WONDERFUL! They communicated with me constantly and survived my constant emails/calls. After a few bad moving experiences, I was really worried a smaller company would not do a good job. But, they were EXCELLENT. They were actually more responsive and move much faster than the two large national moving companies I used before.
Jason is very friendly and wants to provide great service. Their rates are reasonable, so I was more than willing to offer a tip.
I support small businesses - especially in today's economy. Give them a call!
