G.G.C. Flooring

About two months after they installed our carpet, we noticed a seam in our family room was starting to tear. We called to let the company know, and several months later someone came out to inspect it and said it was not their fault and they would not fix it. The carpet was only two months old And they claimed it wasn’t their fault. Was going to carpet the rest of my house with this carpet, but now I will never use this company again. Terrible customer service and how can you claim after two months it’s our fault? I’ve had carpet my whole life and have never had a seam start to tear apart. Do not understand their reasoning and would never use this company ever again. DO NOT RECOMMEND

All of the flooring was done in two days, and we couldn't be happier with the results.  The contractors were very kind and professional.  Lonnie was the sales guy that came out, and we gave him a ballpark idea of what we wanted for our flooring and he came out with just two samples - one vinyl floor sample, and one carpet sample, and it was EXACTLY what we wanted... right down to the exact color and type.  These guys are good at what they do.  I only rated the price as a "B" due to the fact that Rite Rug gave us a much lower estimate for similar grade materials.  However, I have no doubt that the quality of the installation was much better with GGC Flooring than it would be with most other places.  We love our new floor!

GGC Flooring has a good selection and reasonable pricing.  We have used multiple companies in the past for our homes and rentals.  There were red flags with GGC early on.  The sales person who quoted our job could not remember our quote or large job twice during phone calls.  He also said there would be a discount since it was a large job.  This never happened.  At full price we would have expected quality service.  However, almost three months later the job was just finished.  First our carpenter disappeared because of a family issue - this happens.  But no one told us.  So he was missing for two weeks.  We called both the sales person and owner who said - "sorry".   Then they could not find the rest of our carpet to finish the steps.  The carpenter said it was at GGC and they just forgot about it on the warehouse floor.  So he took it, but then when he had to deal with an emergency - it was missing.  So a new set of carpenters were sent ( after another two weeks)- who had some, but not all of the product, and wasn't quite sure how to finish the job and ended up not being able to start because of the still missing carpet pieces. After several calls, and 10 days later, the second set of carpenters are finishing the job. The owner blamed the sales associate for the bad pricing, the carpenter blamed the company for forgetting our carpet on the warehouse floor, the Sales associate blamed the carpenter because of his emergency. But no one ever tried to make it right. At some point during the process we heard from the owner who said, " Yes, the sales associate is a bit unorganized".   I feel like they must contract out all these employees so no one is ever held accountable.  I would not recommend them, especially for large jobs. 

Laminate looks really good! No complaints. 
Carpet had to be redone in the living room because of a stain in the fibers and a little sloppy around the fireplace. GGC got different people to re-install so I was pleased with the end result. 
The bathroom vinyl was not cut exact and quarter round was put around the base of the tub, nothing was put at the kickboard beneath the sink cabinet. After multiple phone calls and two different people coming out, it was properly fixed. I felt I was being put off a little because phone calls sometimes were not returned promptly. But the last person who came was really nice, experienced and accomodating. It turned out to my satisfaction but I had to be on my toes and watch, then continue to follow up with phone calls. 

The total lack of communication from Jeff Galbreath and his father over the transaction makes us wonder how these people stay in business..We could understand them going after Mr. Bell who actually owed the money but to file suit against us also, particularly when we had used them on several other jobs and given them referrals and without any communication to us was distasteful at best..On a couple occasions during this timeframe after we were made aware that Mr. Bell had not paid the entire bill for the job at our house we were repeatedly told by Jeff Galbreath that they would not come after us since it was actually Mr Bell that owed them the money. This amounts to a total lack of integrity and honesty.

GGC gave me a competitive bid and I got very nice carpet. They did a very good job. Thtey installed it very quickly for me as well.

Initially, the carpet was defective, but they came out to make it right. The carpet manufacturer gave us our money. I feel GGC Carpets is honest. I will have them install more carpet in the future. They are responsiveness to problems.

The man who came out to do the estimate was nice, helpful, but at times hard to reach. I felt GGC is more for commercial rather than residential. They are certainly not designers. We have an ''odd'' stairway with an interesting turn on the landing, and the estimator was unsure of how they would make it look nice, which is fine because he's just the ''estimate guy'', but when he talked to the installer, he said he would come over to explain to us what it would look like and how they would install it, and he never did come over. We decided not to have GGC do the stairway, but they did do two bedrooms. On the day they came to installation, they realized they had measured incorrectly and did not have enough carpeting for one of the rooms. This is very disappointing, especially when you have kids who need to nap in those rooms and it's very disruptive for one day, let alone two or more days. Not only that, but in one of the rooms the seam is TOTALLY obvious, right in the middle of the room!

I've used GGC previously and for the most part was happy. There were only two remarkable issues. The installation was to be coordinated with tenant move-in, and they missed the date, thereby causing the tenants to back-out. It took an additional month to install the carpet. They did not offer a discount or any allowance other than to carry the final 50% payment for 30 additional days (as opposed to their standard 10 days). Also, thresholds to the two doorways were not re-installed and had to be installed after.

They did a good job.

JEFF WORKED WITH US IN PICKING OUT AN APPROPRIATE CARPETING FOR OUR HOUSE. HIS INSTALLATION PERSON SHOWED UP AS SCHEDULED AND HAD THE DOWNSTAIRS CARPET INSTALLED IN SHORT ORDER. THE MASTER BEDROOM HE COULD NOT DO AS ANOTHER CONTRACTOR WAS NOT FINISHED WITH HIS WORK. JEFF'S INSTALLER CAME BACK 10 DAYS LATER AND FINISHED THE JOB. THERE WAS A SMALL ISSUE WITH HOW THE CARPET LOOKED NEXT TO THE BASEBOARD. JEFF SENT SOMEONE OUT RIGHT AWAY AND WE DISCUSSED POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS. THE PROBLEM WAS CORRECTED WITH NO ISSUES. JEFF AND HIS CREW DID AN EXCELLENT JOB.

EXCELLENT PRICE, VERY UNDERSTANDING, PATIENT, & PROFESSIONAL. DID SOME SMALL EXTRAS. COULD NOT BE HAPPIER WITH THE SERVICEMAN JOHN PECK.. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

THE SALESMAN I WORKED WITH, MIKE, WAS WONDERFUL. HE MET ME AT MY RENTAL PROPERTY WITH SAMPLES WHEN HE MEASURED, AND I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH THE PRODUCT WE CHOSE. THE INSTALLATION WAS OK, BUT NOT GREAT. THE SEAMS WERE NOTICEABLE, AND THERE WERE A FEW AREAS WHERE IT DIDN'T MEET THE BOTTOM OF THE BASEBOARD. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION, I HAD SOME SMALL PIECES OF CARPET BOUND. I WAS EXTREMELY UNHAPPY WITH THIS SERVICE. WHEN MY HUSBAND TOOK IT IN, HE EXPLAINED CLEARLY THE SIZES I NEEDED. WHEN I PICKED IT UP, IT WAS CUT WRONG. HE SAID HE'D RE-DO IT. I WENT BACK 2 MORE TIMES, AND HE WASN'T IN (AND NO ONE ELSE THERE HAS A KEY TO HIS OFFICE). THE THIRD TIME, HE WAS THERE BUT COULDN'T FIND IT! THEN, HE HAD TO COMPLETELY RE-DO IT WITH NEW CARPET. I HAD TO CALL 3 TIMES AFTER THAT BEFORE I COULD ACTUALLY PICK IT UP. VERY FRUSTRATING.

THE QUALITY OF WORKMANSHIP WAS FANTASTIC.

THEY HAD TO COME BACK BECAUSE THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE CARPET, THE SECOND PERSON THAT CAME OUT SAID THAT THE CARPET WASN'T LAID WELL AND THE CARPET WAS DEFECTIVE. I CALLED THE COMPANY BACK AND HAD PROBLEMS GETTING MY SALESMAN TO CALL ME BACK. FINALLY, SOMEONE CAME TO TAKE A SAMPLE SENT IT BACK TO THE MANUFACTURER, THEY AGREED IT WAS DEFECTIVE. IT TOOK SEVERAL CALLS AND A LONG TIME TO GET THEM OUT. THEY FINALLY CAME BACK TO PUT DOWN THE NEW CARPET, BUT IN THE PROCESS RUINED MY NEW ENTRYWAY TILE BY HAMMERING NAILS INTO THE TILE. I WAS NOT SATISFIED WITH THIS EXPERIENCE.

DUE TO A 'SCHEDULING ERROR,' THE INSTALLERS DIDN'T ARRIVE THE MORNING THEY WERE SCHEDULED. WE WERE ON A TIGHT TIME FRAME, AS FURNITURE WAS BEING DELIVERED THE NEXT DAY. IT TOOK SEVERAL CALLS TO GET A TEAM SENT TO OUR HOME; THEY DIDN'T ARRIVE UNTIL AFTER 6 PM. WE HAVE USED THIS COMPANY BEFORE & WERE DISAPPOINTED THAT WE HAD TO GENERATE ALL OF THE CALLS. I EXPECTED AT LEAST AN APOLOGY FOR OUR INCONVENIENCE.

WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE ASSISTANCE JOHN PECK PROVIDED US IN CHOOSING HARDWOOD THAT WOULD MEET OUR NEEDS AND OUR BUDGET. THE INSTALLERS ALSO DID A GREAT JOB. WE WILL BE GOING BACK TO GGC TO REFURBISH OUR SECOND FLOOR.

WHILE REMOVING THE TILE, THEY DAMAGED THE CEILING BELOW THE FLOOR AND WE CAN'T GET THEM TO FIX IT.
