Interior Painting
Basically I did give her a deposit since it was a fairly large job and I needed the job started within the next three weeks. She knew that timing was important and this is why I gave her a larger deposit. A week later she did a faux board for me that was not anting like the samples she had shown me. She was supposed to do a total of four boards. She told me that when she started the work she would bring the other samples. She did not come the week she was supposed to. She dropped off another sample board which was only two or the four I was promised and it was nothing like we discussed. Over September and after making numerous phone calls she finally got back to me the third week in September. She told me she was on vacation and would be in touch when she returned. Toward the end of October I had still not heard from her. By this time I did not trust her and didn't want her in my home. I contacted the police because of the large deposit. They did call her and she answered and stated she needed five weeks to get the money together. After numerous phone calls to the police she stopped responding to even them and she still has all of my money. I did contact the Better Business Bureau as well and they contacted her with a notice in hopes of a response. They gave a second notice and she did not respond to that as well and she now has an F rating.

Interior Painting
This was an absolute horrible experience. She did not communicate. She did not follow through. She blamed me for her not communicating with me. She showed up to the job unprepared and constantly had to leave to go to the paint store. She constantly took personal calls and talked non-stop. One call she was on for a solid "two hours". She invited a friend over to my house and had a pow-wow for 45 minutes in my hallway. She was totally unmotivated and painted slower than a turtle walks. She was extremely confrontational and totally rude to me. At noon one day she told me she would have my bedroom totally painted by the end of the day. At 2:30 that same day she declared she would not even have 1/4 of it painted. When I asked her to stay longer to get more of it completed she stated she had other important appointments she had to get to. When I asked her another simple question she stated you need to just let me do my job and not cost me any more money!

"FIRST OF ALL, THIS CUSTOMER DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO COMMUNICATE OR ARTICULATE WHAT SHE WANTS, AND DIDN'T INCLUDE HER HUSBAND IN THE DECISION PROCESS. ONCE HER HUSBAND BECAME INVOLVED HE WANTED DIFFERENT THINGS THAN SHE DID, AND THEY COULDN'T AGREE BETWEEN THE TWO OF THEM. I AM ALWAYS PREPARED AND COME EQUIPPED AND READY TO WORK STARTING AROUND 8AM. THIS CUSTOMER DIDN'T WANT ME BEFORE 9AM, WHICH IS WHEN I STARTED WORK TO ACCOMMODATE HER. I TAKE BUSINESS CALLS THROUGHOUT THE DAY AS MY PHONE RINGS. PERSONAL CALLS I TAKE OUTSIDE THE CUSTOMER'S HOME, UNLESS IT IS MY HUSBAND, AND I ALWAYS TAKE HIS CALLS. NO PHONE CALL IS EVER TWO HOURS AS SHE HAS STATED. WHO COULD POSSIBLY TALK THAT LONG? I HAD A SCAFFOLDING CONTRACTOR COME OVER (WHO WAS THERE ABOUT 10 MINUTES) TO SEE HER STAIRWELL TO MEASURE, AND GIVE ME A PRICE. THAT IS STANDARD PRACTICE. I NEVER HAD ANY "FRIENDS" OVER TO HER HOUSE. I HAVE BEEN IN THIS INDUSTRY FOR OVER 30 YEARS AND WORK CIRCLES AROUND PEOPLE. SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE HAD THE BEDROOM READY FOR ME TO PAINT FIRST THING THAT MORNING, NOT AT NOON! I HAD OTHER APPOINTMENTS AND COMMITMENTS SCHEDULED, SO I COULD NOT WORK LATE INTO THE NIGHT AS SHE WANTED. I FINISHED THE NEXT DAY. WHEN I WAS LOADING UP MY EQUIPMENT, SHE PROCEEDED TO PUT MY THINGS ON THE FRONT STEP, THEN CLOSED THE DOOR IN MY FACE, AND KEPT MY LADDER FOR ANOTHER WEEK BEFORE GIVING IT BACK TO ME. THIS WAS A NIGHTMARE! BEWARE TO OTHER CONTRACTORS, AVOID HER!"
