Eddie's Tree Service

The work performed was as promised. Eddie is very knowledgeable . We are very happy overall and plan to use Eddie's tree service again in our condominium community in Northwest Columbus.

Excellent. Quick service. Thorough job. Great job cleaning up when the job was done.

Eddie was prompt with calling back when we initially inquired for a quote. He timely scheduled the job. Job was completed. All debris was cleared and taken care of. It’s not cheap, but a job well-done. Would use again and would recommend to others.

I called and told Eddie that I needed the tree taken down that got struck by lightening 2 year prior. He remembered me and the tree. He said they were backed up due to storms but would try to get to it next week, He came out a few days later and topped the tree so it would no longer be a threat with all the storms we were getting then came back the following week and finished removing the tree. Another excellent job!! Highly recommend!

The price was reasonable and the service was done professionally. I will call them again to have another tree removed this summer.

I called several service providers who perform stump grinding services.  Eddie was very responsive and was able to quickly provide me a quote to grind out three stump.  I had cut down and removed the trees on my own thanks to my brother and his chainsaw; all I needed was the stumps removed.  Eddie came out on a Saturday morning with his machine and was able to grind out the three stumps in about 30 minutes.  I had to remove the resulting debris myself, but it wasn't too bad.  Eddie mentioned that if I had him and his crew cut down and remove all of the trees he would have also cleaned up the stump debris, but for the price I paid I couldn't complain as I got quotes that were much higher to grind the three stumps (although the others may have included cleanup.)  
Overall I was very pleased with the work Eddie did and would use his services again.

3 man crew "lifted" dead elm over other trees with giant crane.  Excellent team.  No damage to other trees.  Perfect clean up.

Dead ashes dropped to ground with minimal damage to other woods trees.  Gave advice on trees we were concerned about.

EXCELLENT PRICE.  No one else came close.

Eddie's Tree Service was very knowledgeable and friendly.  They removed 1 huge tree in our back yard as well as a smaller one.  They used a crane to cut down the larger tree and had to pull it on the front lawn to reach, but after they left there was no damage to the yard.  The small tree was in the middle of our brick patio and also had a round bench around it.  They were able to lift and move the bench for us so it did not have to be dissembled, and were able to cut the stump down level with the brick.

Things went well.  All of the guys were nice and seemed to care about what they were doing.  They spared my flower beds, cleaned up after themselves and stacked the logs for us.  The only complaint I had, was that I was told by my landlord that they were coming on July 9th, but arrived today (Jul. 7) with no phone call.

They are excellent.  The quality of the work is great especially for the reasonable price.

I called Eddie's Tree Service for an estimate to remove a tree stump. They asked how large it was and I told them less than 30" in diameter. They quoted me a price of 75.00 and we scheduled an appointment for the upcoming weekend. They arrived on time Saturday morning with a trailer mounted, diesel engine tree stump grinder. This thing was impressive! I showed Eddie where the stump was and he backed his equipment up to the stump and started grinding. Within 10 minutes the stump and roots (about a foot deep) were gone. I felt relieved to have this stump out of the way. He was referral to me from a relative of mine and they were very satisfied as well. Eddie was friendly and polite and I would recommend him as well.

This is still a work in progress. A repeatedly and clearly-explained condition of the work was that Eddie was to call before he came, reasons being (1) I don't want work being done when I am not home and (2) the likelihood that when one large branch was removed I'd be able to tell if others also needed to come down.
I received no call before he showed up on the morning of June 19, removed the large branch and left an invoice for the full price. When I arrived home I could clearly see more (and smaller) branches needed to go.
To make a long story longer, we agreed I will send him partial payment now. When he is back in the area in two weeks he will come by, prepared to take down the other 2-3 branches assuming we can agree on whether that work will fall within his $300 minimum - and if not, any additional money he believes is appropriate. They did an excellent job and I couldn't be happier.  Eddie's price was much better than the other services I contacted.   He completed the job within the timeframe we discussed.  He did everything he said he would do including cleaning everything up (i.e. branches, twigs, raking, sweeping, etc.).   Overall, I'm very happy with his service and would certainly do business with him again.

They arrived around 8am and had the job completed a bit before noon. At times it was like watching a ballet. Limbs were cut then raised with the crane. Many times the limbs would spin just right as they were lowered to the alley and fed to the grinding machine. The job was completed in a professional manner.

I have very mixed feelings about this. He stuck to his estimate and took down the trees that were to be taken down. The yard trees were ground down as discussed and there was no damage to my yard. One of the trees came within inches of my deck and there was no damage to my deck either.
However, I never spoke directly to him beyond the very first meeting when he looked over the yard and never did receive any form of a receipt (there was a small sheet in my mailbox a few days before they cut that had an "Eddie's Tree Service" header and something like "tree removal - $700" handwritten sideways on it but that's the only paperwork I have...)  And where the treeline is now gone and piles of trunks and debris remain, well part of that is a lesson learned for me that "dropping trees" in the woods isn't as benign-looking as it sounds, but I feel that part of that is also a professionalism thing - it just looks awful.
What's done is done and I suppose my house is safer now for it but I wish things had turned out differently.

Trees were cut down, and many were cut into logs.  We had Eddie leave branches on site, if I had to do it again, I would've tried to get some of the branches chipped and removed by Eddie.  Some at the back of the lot were difficult to get to, though.  A walnut tree damaged in the June 29 storm was trimmed and saved at our request, and looks better than we thought it would look.  The cost for the amount of work completed was very good.   We would definitely use Eddie again.

Final cost was same as estimate.  Work was completed within one week of estimate. Fast, reasonable, and professional.

Contacted company on 7/8/2011.  Came out that afternoon to give me a estimate.  We agreed on price and on 7/12/2011, they came out and completed the job.  They were very efficient and professional.  I will definitely hire again.
