The service was quick, courteous, and professional.  While the price was higher than other providers, I believe the quality of the service and the convenient location made up for the difference.  My computer is functionally properly, and that's all I could have asked.

I took my laptop to them on a Friday. They called on Saturday and confirmed what I already suspected. Repair was completed by Monday,and I picked it up on Wednesday. It worked fine and there is a 90 day guarantee. The whole experience was fine. However , these people are not cheap. $120 for diagnosis, then parts. Based on cost alone, I don't know if I would use them again

"Thanks for the review. Our diag and repair service is a flat rate of $110, ($118.25 after current taxes). We think that's competitive, considering that it covers all labor from start to finish for the work, no matter how many issues we may need to resolve. Though your particular work order may not have needed it, that includes services like data backup, software installation, etc. that many places will charge additional for. We also do our best to give a quick turn around on repairs. Once again, thanks for the business and the review. Please keep us in mind when shopping around for repair in the future, I think you might find our prices are fairly competitive"

I grinned all the way home. I went to Angie's list (via the desktop) and searched computer repair. I liked Dos-Boot's description of services offered, was encouraged by the posted reviews of service delivered, and determined that their location was not too far. I called and explained my problem to Ryan, who suggested what could be the problem and the solution and covered costs if deeper analysis/solution was needed. I showed up. Now that's how service is supposed to be!!!!

I am beyond thrilled to have discovered Dos-Boot! Recently, my HP laptop was overheating constantly and shutting itself off. I then began experiencing other issues as a result. I discovered Dos-Boot online. I called and spoke with Ryan, who immediately impressed me with his knowledgeable assessment of my problem and his friendly demeanor. They were available to accept my laptop right away and explained how they would proceed. Because they informed me up-front that the hard drive could potentially need replaced, I was not shocked to receive that call. I love how they kept me informed throughout the entire process, and didn't do anything without asking first. They also told me from the get-go how pricing would work, which was fantastic. (If their initial attempt didn't resolve the problem, then the charges associated with that work would be applied to the additional work. That additional work was capped at a reasonable amount, so any additional amounts I might have to pay would only be for necessary parts. Plus, since they did end up needing to replace my hard drive, that was warranteed for 90 days, so that if I had any subsequent problems, a new hard drive as well as the additional labor would not cost me more.)
Long story short, I am incredibly pleased with how these guys do business. Not only are they experts at computer repair, but they are also extremely fast, reliable, trustworthy and considerate of people's cost constraints. I recommend Dos-Boot (and Ryan and Jeff, both of whom I interacted with) whole-heartedly and I am so grateful to have found them!

Dos Boot fixed my laptop screen which stopped working after 2.5 years. It was either buy a new laptop or get the fix and I chose to fix the laptop for about half the price of a new computer. I chose Dos Boot based on their Angie's List and Yelp reviews. They were very professional, called me back with the diagnosis within 2 hours of me bringing the laptop in and I agreed to the repair. They charge a flate rate $110 for labor up front which could be high if you have a minor issue. They promised a finish time of 3-4 working days and I was hoping for a short turnaround and to hopefully have my laptop back by the weekend. My repair required a new laptop screen and these parts had to be ordered. Just 48 hours (+ 4 additional hours) after I dropped off my laptop at their High Street location I got the call that I could come to pick it up! The parts were $180 and total just around $300 with tax but frankly, the ease of this experience was worth the probably $20-30 I would have saved in labor at another repair place. I liked having the opportuntity to use a local business vs. a big box chain repair center.

We've used Dos Boot several times for various different issues (hardware upgrade, hardware repair, virus removal). Each time they have been very responsive, courteous and have completed the work ahead of time (usueally within just a day or so). Their prices are reasonable and they are very friendly to work with.

I dropped my laptop off and paid up front for the service. They told me that that if for some reason they found that they needed more parts they would let me know before proceed and tell me about any additional costs associated with it. I did not need anything other than the hard drive that I supplied them with, they even loaded the new hard drive with the operating system even though I did not have a disc. They have the most reasonable prices for Apple product repair in town, I would definitely recommend them.

I did not have any transaction with DOS Boot other than the phone call in which I described the symptoms our computer was exhibiting, the steps I'd taken trying to solve the problem and receiving an estimate.

"I'm sorry you felt that our prices seemed high. Our price quoted for labor includes diagnosis labor and repair labor at a flat rate. We feel our pricing is very competitive. Unfortunately, any time a computer is locking up, it could indicate a hardware failure. Any quote we would have provided would have mentioned that parts may be needed to get your system running correctly. If an operating system is reloaded onto a system with a failing hard drive, for example, the problem may only appear to be resolved for a very short time. Additionally, as a computer repair shop, we aren't able to rely solely on a user's diagnosis. Any information that our customers provide definitely helps us in diagnosing a system, but at the same time we have to consider causes that the end user may not even be aware of (such as failing hardware)."

Good ethical business at a fair price. Genuinely helpful service providers which is huge when it deals with something this technical that the average consumer doesn't understand. I have passed their name on many times as they truly deserve the referrals!

They did a thorough diagnosis and were able to narrow down the fix to a diode. Although it didn't work, they took their best educated guess based on their diagnostics. The attempted fix was no charge since it was an inexpensive piece and it wasn't a sure thing (old computer). They eventually concluded it was the motherboard and needed a new one. I gave up, but was fairly satisfied they knew what was going on. Just too expensive for the diagnostic.
