In regards to one of the signs, DaNite Sign Co. installed it and drilled through a water main causing tens of thousands of dollars in damage to the building and equipment. In doing so, they 1) had been informed of the location of water piping as the sales rep was taken up into the attic and took pictures and it was expressed that no one was to drill on the building unless I was present and I wanted to drill from the inside to the outside. 2) The day before the scheduled sign install, I was emailed that they would not be on premise on Friday for the install because the signs weren't ready. There was suggestion for installation the following week. 3) They showed up at ~7am the next morning and drilled multiple holes on the outside of the building without permission and without notifying anyone. During one of the multiple drill holes they punctured the water main and caused much damage to the inside of the building, including ruining two pieces of very expensive technical equipment that had just been installed the night before. There was no doubt on the fault aspect and the claim had to be settled for less than full value of the newly installed equipment that was less than 24 hours old. In addition, the awnings were incorrect. Despite a review process where I had made changes, they had to take one of the awnings back and redo it and I settled for the 2nd awning as is. Despite both of these situations, the owner of the company wanted to make sure they received every penny of their payment despite a horrific experience with the sign installs and a less than professional installation on the awnings. In addition, after the president of the company swore they would make everything right, he turned it over to his insurance company who refused to pay bills unless we settled. We were delayed around 3 months in opening the facility due to reconstruction efforts. I will never use this company again and don't recommend them to anyone.
