I picked up 3 men's shirts on January 16, 2013. I took them home and removed plastic and noticed that all 3 were still very wrinkled. I immediately returned them to the Dale Cleaners on Old Henderson Rd. They agreed to press them again. I returned the following morning to pick them up and noticed a large brown spot on the bottom left front of one of the white shirts. I asked what it was and a male employee told me that maybe they used too much starch. He offered to reclean the shirt. The other 2 shirts were just barely acceptable after they had been ironed again but I took them home. I returned again on January 21st to pick up the stained white shirt. Now, there was a larger brown spot and a smaller one along the center of the shirt. This time the same male employee told me it must be from a brown belt. I reminded him that there were no brown spots when I first brought the shirt to them and now each time they work on it the spots get worse. I took the shirt home with me this time but it is ruined. I asked to speak to the manager, Michael Williams, and was told he was not there. Employee said he would talk to Mr. Williams and ask him to call me. I sent an email to Mr. Williams on February 5, 2013. I did not receive a response so I went to the store 2 more times and was told again by same employee that Mr. Williams would call me. On February 25, 2013 I sent a certified letter to Mr. Williams which was signed for by Jim Song. I never received a response from anyone. Now, perhaps, Mr. Williams was never told about the problem by his employees but that would mean he never checked his email to see my postl I will never return to Dale Cleaners.
Description of Work: I dropped off 3 men's shirts to be dry cleaned rather than laundered. I was told by male employee that spray starch is used on dry cleaning. I said that was fine.

Bad. The dress is ruined. Have used the Canal Winchester location since it opened, with generally okay results. I was told there was a reaction between deodorant and the cleaning chemicals, therefore it is my fault the dress was ruined in the cleaning process. The dress is not new and has been cleaned quite a few times with no issues. Being told it's my fault the garment is ruined is pushing it a little when it was in better condition prior to cleaning. It is burned and falling apart around the arm holes- ruined. I was not offered a refund for the service, done messing with it and will just go elsewhere in the future.

It was a near disaster. I had spent two years knitting the afghan for my daughter for Xmas. The pattern was an Irish pattern usually used for the fashionable heavy Irish sweaters where the cables stand up above the background. The evening it was returned (promptly) to me I was shocked. The ENTIRE afghan had been pressed and the pattern was almost flat. In addition it had not been cleaned at all. I called the next morning and spoke with Mr. ? who said I would be charged the full fee, that their policy was no refunds, no credit for future cleaning - my only option was to pay the full price and they would be glad to redo it. It seemed to me that they did not know HOW to do what I requested and I did not want them to do ANYTHING more to the afghan. I told him this. I also explained that I was to give the afghan as a gift in 6 days, of which 2 were weekend days and 2 were work days and 2 were holidays - how could I find a reliable company to try to salvage my problem in that time frame - IF it was even possible? Fortunately a reliable (though distant) company agreed to try to raise the pattern although they were swamped with xmas work. I picked it up xmas eve at noon - their work had raised the pattern perhaps half way. It was not the beauty it had been but was at least passable. . Before I sent in the $17 to Dale's , I called once more, 1/7/10, and spoke with Michael Williams who, while very polite , repeated the same options I had been given before. I was clear that I felt paying for work not done and/or done poorly was unfair to the customer. Again I explained that I could no longer trust them. Wanting no further hassle, I sent the check as I told him I would. I also told him I felt I needed to contact Angie's List.
Description of Work: I requested Dry cleaning an almost queen size hand knit gray afghhan with special attention to flattening the the edges which tend to curl slightly in hand knit items before the first cleaning.

I returned the pants to the Hilliard-Rome Road location on 5/22/07 and one of the staff there was very apologetic and said they would be re-done at no charge. Since that day about 4 weeks ago, I've gone back to that location 5 times and have been told each time the pants aren't in yet. The staff there has been VERY friendly and has put some sort of "alert" into the computer system each time. Yet I still don't have my pants back and no one has contacted me from the main office on Old Henderson Rd. I sent a message via Dale's website to their customer service dept. four days ago. No one has responded. Today I called Dale Cleaner's. I was told the only person who could take care of this was someone named Mike and he wasn't there. I left a message with the pleasant individual who took the call. At this point, I just want my pair of pants back or want them to make restitution. The fact that no one from their corporate office has contacted me in one month is quite rude.
Description of Work: I've been utilizing Dale Cleaners since moving to Columbus 12 years ago but won't anymore. During the week of May 22, 2007, I picked up my drycleaning at Dale's Hilliard-Rome Road location. I discovered upon returning home and removing the plastic covers that one pair of tan dress pants had three black horizontal lines on them that appeared to be ink, grease, lead, or some other similar-looking substance. Two of the lines were about 10 inches long and were parallel to each other and perfectly spaced, as if they were made by some sort of machine.

Not great recently. They got someone new at the desk who is constantly hitting on my husband.
Description of Work: I was having Dale launder my husband's shirts. It looks to me as if they are NOT laundering the shirts - it appears as if they are simply pressing them and folding them. The shirts have returned almost as dirty as they were when I took them. I can get the shirts spotless by doing them myself and I am not a professional, so I fail to understand why Dale can't get them as clean as I do.

Tried this new cleaners for the first time. My first disappointment is that they did not have anyone until much later in the week, who could alter a dress for me which required more searching and time. The cleaning itself was pretty good, which I find the most important. The pressing was very good, also. I thought they were a bit too high in price, but I love the location in that I do not have to go way out of my way for the cleaners. Convenient and yes, indeed would use them again.
Description of Work: Dry cleaned eight pieces, including, M suit, tux and L silk suit, L capris, M shirt. Cleaned and pressed with light starch 3 additional shirts.

I dropped them off and they gave me a quote for $206. I had 4 pillows, 4 piece valance and a couple set of drapes. A total of 9 valances and 7 drapes. They were for small windows. After I dropped them off they called me to tell me that it was going to be $100 more. I left a message with them to tell them to not do the shears. They did not do the shears, but they did the drapes. They wanted me to call the police. On top of that they did not trust my check, they treated me like a criminal so I paid with a credit card. And they would not come down at all to what they quoted me. They treat people like dirt and they ripped me off. When you quote a price you stay with it, you don't quote $100 more. I would not use them ever again. I urge people to not use them. I found out after I went there that they have a bad reputation.
Description of Work: I took drapes there to be cleaned.

THEY QUOTED ME A PRICE OF $1.25 PER SHIRT. IT WAS EVEN AN ADVERTISED PRICE IN A COUPON PAPER. THEY CALLED ME ON THE PHONE AND SAID THE SHIRTS WOULD NOT FIT IN THE PRESSES AND DID I WANT THEM DRY CLEANED FOR $3.95 PER SHIRT. I SAID, "NO", AND I WOULD BE IN THERE TO PICK UP THE SHIRTS. WHEN I GOT THERE, 1 SHIRT HAD BEEN DRY CLEANED FOR $3.95 AND THE OTHER 2 WERE LAYING THERE. I AGREED TO PAY $1.25 FOR THE SHIRT. HE REFUSED AND SAID HE WAS GOING TO CALL THE POLICE. I TOLD HIM TO GO AHEAD I WOULD WAIT THERE UNTIL THEY CAME. HE TOLD ME TO TAKE MY SHIRT AND LEAVE NOW(I THINK HE WANTED ME TO LEAVE WITHOUT PAYING FOR THE SHIRT SO THE POLICE WOULD THINK I LEFT WITHOUT PAYING.) I ENDED UP CALLING THE POLICE. THE POLICE CAME AND SAID IT WAS A CIVIL MATTER. I WANT MY SHIRT BACK.
Description of Work: I TOOK 3 SHIRTS IN TO HAVE THEM LAUNDERED.

Response from DALE CLEANERS INC
She can pickup her blouse for $3.95 at any time. This member dropped three blouses with coupon for $1.25 "Regular dress shirt on hangers." Two of them were able to be fit into the shirt press machine. So we charged $1.25 per piece on them. However, the other one had metal decorations. The policeman said it is not a dress shirt - it cannot fit into the shirt machine. So it has to be charged at $3.95.
