Custom Air Conditioning & Heating

We've dealt with them for many years and we just always saw them as reliable. One thing that was crucial when we were away in February and my daughter came over to check the house and the house was 33 degrees inside. That was on a Sunday and she called them and they came and checked and found out what the problem was and the next morning he had the part here but the house got heated again. We carry a service policy with them so they did not charge for the weekend power. Their price is probably competitive and we've always been satisfied with them. Their responsiveness to my needs has been excellent. Their punctuality and professionalism has been very good. I would use their service in the future.

So far they have been fine and I would use them again in the future.

Not sure if we spent a little more than this, it was a month ago, but they came out, repaired rather than replaced (hard to find any more) and fixed the problem quickly. They didn't try to oversell, just fixed the problem for as little money as possible. Very impressed.

I called 3 companys for estimates on replacing my 20 year old HVAC system. Of course, all 3 companies came from Angies List. My system had been having problems over the years and the reliability was decreasing. All 3 companies were close on price and made clear presentations. It was a very hard choice. Custom Air wasn't the lowest quote. But I appreciated Dave Wuelfing's detailed quote. I wanted a high efficiency system and he gave me 4 options to choose from. My house was built in 1928 and originally had coal fired heat. The first gas furnace was installed 20 years ago. But after extensive remodeling, the house always seems dusty. Since I have 3 cats, and hardwood floors, I decided to have the 5" filter air cleaner and the humidifier also installed. I was looking for long term efficiency and healthy air. I selected the day for installation on my schedule. They showed up on time, did a wonderful install job, and cleaned up and removed all debris including the old furnace and air conditioner. They explained everything and left all of the manuals with me. They were very professional and I'm very pleased.

They gave me a good price and great service. I received four different estimates and also looked online and did my research. I had it down to 2 companies who did the same work. We hired them based on their bid. They came out when they said they would, got the job done and everything is working great. My only complaint was their lack of follow-up. I would have liked that someone came out or called to make sure everything was working well and to ask us if we were happy with the work. Other than that, we liked their work and will use them again in the future.

They are courteous, on-time and do a good work. They are competitive with other companies that are around and I like their quality of work.

I called Custom Air back in July to fix our current air conditioner, they came out the next day and I was very pleased with the service. The repair service was done on 7/23/09. We are in the process of signing off with a remodeling contractor so a new furnace and air are needed as our current one is 22 yrs. old. After the repair, I contacted Custom Air to get a quote. I got a quote for the product I WANTED not what they wanted to sell me (as I've experienced with 2 other quotes) and the price is great. The sales representative was excellent, didn't make me feel "stupid" and explained the product thoroughly. He also offered suggestions-an item I didn't get from 2 previous sales reps. We will purchase this quoted system in the near future, as the remodeling will begin in March next year. I'm excited to have a "Trane" HVAC system. Thank you Dave Wuelfing, you are great.

Dave Wuelfing, the Custom Air salesman, was very knowledgeable. I had estimates from four other top Angie's List companies and chose Custom Air based on presentation, pricing, and the best system for the money-Trane. The installers, Cory Frost and Alan Nowaczyk, were efficient, extremely knowledgeable and professional and left my property inside and out spotless.

We have a 12 year old York heat pump system that had sporadic trouble heating this winter and which just started to leak water from under the heat exchanger. The unit hadn't been serviced in a few years, so we thought someone should give it a look. I called on Monday and was able to arrange for a service visit late in the afternoon the next day to fit my schedule. The technician came out and found the drain line was clogged. He cleared the clog, inspected the heat exchanger internally, then went outside and sprayed off the heat pump and checked its coolant pressures. The technician arrived when scheduled, was very courteous and knowledgeable, and he provided instructions for keeping the system running well. He did not try to sell us a whole new unit, which we were worried about given the age of the system. He also gave me prices for accessories (e.g., programmable thermostat) that he thought might be useful to me, but this was done in the spirit of home-owner education and without any sales pressure whatsoever.

I thought they were excellent. The technician that they sent out was very friendly and informative, and I have since asked that he come out for my future checks. He was interested in doing a good job. Their pricing is competitive, and I will be using them again. Price reflects annual contract.

Had problem with 22 year old furnace. Decided to replace, not repair. Very fair price and excellent service. No high pressure sales tactics.

They were very thorough and they recommended a whole house humidifier. We went ahead with their suggestion and they finished installing 3-4 days ago. Their prices are reasonable, however I haven't received a bill for the humidifier.

I feel we were very lucky to have chosen Custom Air. The technician, Jimmy Hayes, was very professional and gave us great advice on our Trane furnace. We decided to get a maintenance agreement with the company for future work. We were not having regular maintenance done on our 12 year old Trane and I feel this contributed to our original problem.

Custom Air has the maintenance contracts for six HVAC units, including two in our home. We began using Custom Air after a small company who served our units for many years went out of business, and its employees were hired by Custom Air. Custom Air's service has been stellar. During the Christmas holiday season, one of the furnaces stopped working in a rental unit. I was out of town and so were the tenants for much of the period. Chris, the dispatcher, worked exceptionally hard in arranging a time for someone to come when I or a tenant would be present. At my request, She arranged for Dave, who regularly services our units, to meet me at the townhouse. Dave came promptly at the agreed upon time, diagnosed the problem, obtained and replaced the circuit board, whose cost was covered by warranty. I had to pay only for the labor. Dave also showed me how the unit provided self-diagnostic signals I could use if there were future problems. This latest example of Custom Air's fine work is typical of our valued experiences with the company, especially our highly positive experiences with Chris and Dave, who are top-notch. Both are also delightful people! Take care!

Very will. I was very satisfied with the price, responsiveness and that they didn't laugh too hard at the fact that I blew the fuse installing a thermostat.

Our heat kept fluctuating from 68 to 66 even through the thermostat was set at 70. I called three other heating companies (from Angie's List) before I found Custom Air which could come out the same day. I was called exactly 30 minutes before he arrived, and the technician arrived before lunch! Woo woo! He troubleshooted and found that our capacitor wasn't functioning, and replaced it. He also explained about how the heat pump worked with the furnace. (I bought the house with both.) He offered a service agreement (with no pressure). My husband and I agreed to it since our air conditioning and heat has never been checked. I feel we got great service, and the technician explained everything he was doing. A very positive experience.

The young man was very nice and he went all over the house and looked at everything. He really went way beyond the call of duty carrying that heavy thing outside and hosing it down. He came out just recently, within the last two weeks to look at the furnace. I have a contract with them. I just got the contract since he came out. They will be coming out regularly.

This company was very responsive to my needs. They made suggestions on the options that we had on humidifying the house. They also told us about the different humidifiers and the different types of controls that we could have. We were happy with their work. It was a positive experience.

When we turned on the air conditioner for the 1st time this year, air was moving but it wasn't cold. There was a mix up at the office and our 1st appointment was missed, but future appointments were right on schedule. Glenn diagnosed and fixed the air conditioner and also inspected the furnace. In addition to the air conditioner repair and furnace inspection, we purchased an annual maintenance agreement for the A/C and furnace. Glenn inspected the furnace this fall and provided estimates for upgrades to the thermostat so we can better control the temperature.

David Wuelfing came out within an hour of my call. The estimate was professionally done. They did suggest that I replace the furnace and gave me the lowest estimate for replacement($2,632).

I was very happy with the service. They were professional and punctual. They showed up when they said they would and were the most responsive of the several companies that I called. I was impressed that I was refunded for an overpayment.

It went very well. I was pleased with the information he provided and for fixing the problem.

The gentleman that came out was neat and clean and cleaned up the area very well. Their prices are very reasonable. He was extremely polite and arrived on time as promised.
