My answer to if I would hire again is "maybe" I bought their 23 point inspection package for $45.00. The man who came was friendly. But he had barely looked at the door before he said I should probably have a new door. I told him to just repair what he could. He did make a couple of adjustments and added one tap screw to hold a bracket where the original screw hole had ripped. He was probably there less than 1/2 hour. It was only afterward that I realized that I didn't get a copy of the 23 point inspection - so I don't know what he was suppose to look. Bottom line - I didn't appreciate the attempt to sell a new door before he's done anything. I'm might have them back, but I would ask a lot more questions. They did only charge me $39.00, so possible for that amount of money, I should not complain.

I did some research ad they have like 5 different names which always a bad sign. They were absolutely despicable.  They were so awful.  They came here, my garage door would not open. He was a very nice guy and he diagnosed it as a broken spring and said do I need a whole new garage door opened. So $1100 later I have a new garage door opener. The quote was a bit higher and I said do I need a new garage door opener and he said oh yea, your teeth are dull, you’re gonna need this whole thing replaced. I said that seems like a lot of money. He said if you go on Facebook right now, I’m gonna give you a number to call. Call this phone number and the woman in our office will direct t you to our Facebook page and instruct you how to write a review. He said go on there and write a 5 star review right now and I will give you a 10% discount. So I foolishly went on and write the review and I got the 10%. Subsequently, three person told me that I did not need a new garage door opener, I could have that spring replaced for $200.  I looked up online to find garage door company and when I called her I said  I want someone local are you in Clintonville and she didn’t answer me and I said are you in Clintonville and she said yes. The hesitating caused me to think why is she hesitating, so I asked where are you and she said we are on Okland St which is right here in Clintonville. I discovered subsequently when I asked the tech where are you located he said they are down by the airport, that is 10 miles away. They are not here is Clintonville, she lied through her teeth. I check with other companies and I check with a contractor and also a handy from my local hardware store and they all said we have never seen a broken spring lead to a whole new garage door opener, you needed a new spring. He left the place a mess and he told me he would clean up his own mess. I think I got a year’s garage door opened because the light bulbs didn’t work. They have 5 different names. Garage door services, Fox overhead doors, Neighborhood Garage, Columbus Neighborhood Garage and Columbus Garage Doors.

No problems with the garage door, however, the two gentlemen who performed the repair did not have me remove my vehicle before repairing my garage. After they left I noticed that they put a huge 15 inch scratch on my beautiful scratch less vehicle. If they didn't have the proper clearance they should have requested for me to move my vehicle. I paid $850 for this repair. The company played some games with me on resolution and ended up refunding me just $150 while the repair of my vehicle cost over $700. So, overall, my garage repair cost me 700+700=1400.

Very timely!  I called late evening on the 12th to discuss problem/options and they were able to schedule me for the installation of the new unit the following morning.  You can't ask for better service than that!  Craig arrived right on time, was very professional, and did an outstanding job for me.  Thanks so much.

I called at 12:30, the customer service representative was very professional.  He said some one would be out to my home by 4:00.  Since I was a new customer, I was given $50 off the normal service fee.  I received a call around 3:15 to say that they were finishing up a job and I was their next job.  The Technician was here as scheduled.  All work performed to our satisfaction.

The operator bracket on my garage door broke when I tried to open the door.  I noticed that the small bracket was only secured by 3 screws.  I had to go to work and needed the door repaired promptly.  I called two providers who either couldn't help me or I had to wait two days.  Neighborhood Garage Door Services of Columbus was the third call to a provider.  The quick response exceeded my expectations.  shortly, I received a call from the technician saying he was 20 minutes away.  He arrived at my house in exactly 20 minutes. He was courteous, friendly and respectful and made sure I received the coupon discounts.  He showed me the correct larger bracket that should have been installed.  He also showed me the current rollers were beginning to wear out and I decided to take preventive measures to install new rollers.  He was fast, knowledgeable, experienced and knew what to do to about another issue with the door.  Overall I was pleased with the service and was able to get to work on time!!

I contacted this company via a web search because my garage door wouldn't open due to broken springs. The company was called "Columbus' Choice Overhead Garage Door Co." on the website, but listed as "Fox Overhead Garage Doors LLC" on my invoice. I explained my problem and described my door to the phone representative and scheduled the appointment. He quoted me a price of about $180.

The service tech came out and provided an estimate of around $700 and then settled on $568 after applying various "coupons." He said the price was higher because my garage door was heavy. While he was gathering his equipment for the installation, I did a search on Angie's List and learned that a more reasonable price for the spring installation was $200-250. I explained this to the technician and told him that I wanted to cancel the job, so he asked me how much would I be willing to pay, So I said $300 (which was still too much, but since he was already there and I couldn't get  my cars out of the garage I went on the high side). He did the work, but swapped out the original springs that he showed me with a smaller set because he said that he miscounted the coils first time.

Fast forward to today, my garage door barely opens (stops every few inches) with the opener and it will not open at all manually. This is indicative of a spring issue. I actually have had the stopping issue for at least a week, but it has gotten worse the past few days. I called the company - 39 days from original date of service - to make them aware of the issue. I was beyond the 30 day labor warranty, so I scheduled a service call with a different garage door service company.

UPDATE

Kayla, from Neighborhood Garage Door Service's Client Services, reached out to me to review my concerns and to offer a way to make things right. Though my initial experience did not go as planned, I do very much appreciate the company's willingness to hear my concerns and to make a genuine effort to resolve the issues. My ratings now reflect the overall experience, which factors in my initial concerns and the company's response to those concerns.

I found this company based on a coupon in valuepak. It seems to operate under many names, the company name on my invoices is Fox Overhead Garage Doors but it links to Neighborhood Garage Door Service Of Columbus on Angie's List.
The technician that came out was prompt but ultimately installed a spring undersized for our door in June.
I called back in September with concerns the door was still to heavy. A different tech "added a turn" to the spring to help with the weight of the door but all that did was cause the door to rise too quickly after the door was halfway up.
I spent over $600 for all the initial work that included a new 262 spring. I had to pay another $89 under "warranty" to have the spring adjusted.
Rather than pay this company again for a visit, I used Angie's List to find a company (Columbus Ohio Garage Doors) that had a $39 tune-up special.
They confirmed what I suspected, that the spring on my door was not enough for weight of our door. They recommended the door should have 2 x 218 springs instead of a 262 with an extra turn. Before they left they quoted me $165 for the double spring replacement.
I immediately called Fox Overhead Garage Doors. The person I spoke to said it would cost me another $89 for someone to come out and give me a quote for the work. Rather than give this company another $89 to tell me how much it would cost for them to do the job right, I called Columbus Ohio Garage Doors back and within the hour, I had 2 new springs on my door.
Would not recommend this company to anyone based on this experience.

What a great experience! Craig was tirnely and professional and repaired our broken springs. Then, when there was an additional problem the next day, Craig returned (on a Saturday) and fixed the new problem for no additional charge. I would definitely recommend and use the company again!!

The doors were not properly inspected and the repair did not last one hour. They charged two times to inspect doors within 24 hours. They offered to drop the next day inspection if we would give them the extra spring repair job.  I  declined as I would not want to give more business to this company. I would not encourage anyone to do business with this outfit.
Response from Neighborhood Garage Door Service of Columbus

"[member name removed], it's unfortunate that your springs broke shortly after our visit, however, the two situations that you are referring to are completely unrelated. I would definitely love to see if there is something that we can do to make this situation better for you as we completely understand how unexpected repairs can be so frustrating. Please call our customer service department if you wish to speak with them about your situation. 877-266-8897. Again, my sincerest apologies for you having to deal with this matter. I hope we can find some resolution for you."

It was wonderful. They did a good job. They're prompt and got it done. They came to fix the outdoor pad because my garage door was so old, they couldn't just replace the pad. They couldn't find one that was compatible. Our garage door is 25 years old. We just went ahead and got a new garage door. It was fone. They came out and checked it all out. They came the next day and put the garage door opener because he had to get it and all that stuff. They were here on time, efficient, friendly and took care of my problem. I think compared with the other ones, they were in the ballpark. With garage door openers, you think they're going to go in and they're going to take half an hour or an hour. When I called them to make the appointment, they were going to come out the same day. I had the coupon but I has to call and make appointment not because they didn't respond but because I wanted t when I wanted it. They were going to try to come out that day but they were running behind because they ran into an issue. They were still going to try to come out that day. I said, you can just come out tomorrow. They didn't keep me waiting here, they called me and let me know. They kept calling me to tell me where they were and why there was a problem. It wasn't a problem for me but it maybe for some other. They still were willing to come out if I really wanted them to. He was professional.

It was an odd situation when I called Columbus' Choice Overhead Garage Door Company. They quoted one price on the phone and it actually turned out to be pretty much more and I thought that it was misleading. What they did is that they said that the service call was 39.99 but that really what that was for them just to pull in the drive way was 39.99 and then to actually service your garage door there was another charge. It was very expensive for what they did. The guy made a lot per hour. I probably would not use them again. The total cost was over 250 dollars and he did replace some parts in that but I thought the call fee was going to be 39.99 and then I would have to pay labor and parts but actually when the whole bill came together and I questioned it, they said that it was 39.99 just for me to show up. I just paid what I thought was way too much money. They came right away for the responsiveness. I don't think they were professional.
Response from Neighborhood Garage Door Service of Columbus

"So sorry to hear you felt you were misled. Our diagnostic fee is originally $89 and we see you were charged $39 which is a good discount in itself. The diagnostic fee consists of us coming out to do a safety check, 21-point inspection overall on your door to first check it for safety then find out the solution to your issue which would lead to more for labor and parts. If you have any questions or concerns we would like to make this experience be a better one for you so please feel free to call Client Services Department at (877) 266-8897 to give us your personal feedback and maybe we can make the situation better. We strive on good customer service and value each and everyone of our customers. Thank you."
