THE WORK PERFORMED WAS FINE. HOWEVER, WE WERE DISAPPOINTED WITH THE WAY ROBERT TRIED TO PUSH A NEW FURNACE AND WATER HEATER ON US EVEN THOUGH WE DIDN'T ACTUALLY NEED ANYTHING REPLACED OR EVEN REPAIRED AT THIS TIME. HE WAS QUITE ADAMANT THAT WE NEED A NEW FURNACE ASAP BEFORE OUR PRESENT ONE CONKS OUT IN THE DEAD OF WINTER (HE HAS NO WAY OF PREDICTING WHEN OR EVEN IF THAT WILL HAPPEN). OUR FURNACE IS ONLY 9 YEARS OLD AND COULD BE REPAIRED IF NECESSARY. WE FELT THAT ROBERT USED ALL THE TRICKS IN THE BOOK TO TRY TO PERSUADE US TO BUY SOMETHING WE DON'T PARTICULARLY NEED AT THIS POINT. FOR BEING A TECHNICIAN HE CERTAINLY HAS A VERY AGGRESSIVE SALES APPROACH! THE SERVICE WAS ON TIME, EVEN THOUGH WE HAD TO WAIT 3-4 DAYS FOR A TECH TO COME OUT (WE UNDERSTAND THIS IS THEIR BUSY SEASON AND FORTUNATELY IT WASN'T A GREAT HARDSHIP TO BE WITHOUT HEAT).
Description of Work: OUR FURNACE WASN'T WORKING, SO WE HAD SWISS AIR COME OUT TO DO A REGULAR FALL INSPECTION AND DIAGNOSTICS. IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT SOME CONNECTION HAD COME LOOSE ON THE CONTROL PANEL, AND ALSO THAT THERE WAS PAPER IN THE BLOWER. HE "RESET" THE CONNECTION AND CLEANED THE PAPER OUT AND DID HIS OTHER INSPECTION AND TESTING. EVERYTHING WAS THEN WORKING AS IT SHOULD.

WHAT REALLY IMPRESSED ME ABOUT THIS COMPANY WAS THEIR WILLINGNESS TO HELP ME OUTSIDE OF REGULAR HOURS. OUR OLD FURNACE WAS A SPECIALIZED LENNOX WHICH WAS TOUGH TO SERVICE AND TOUGH TO GET PARTS FOR. IT MADE A STRANGE NOISE AND PUT OUT A FUNNY SMELL ON A WEEKEND. I CALLED SWISS AIR'S ANSWERING SERVICE AND WAS SOON TALKING TO A TECHNICIAN WHO WAS HELPING ME OVER THE PHONE. WE EXCHANGED SEVERAL CALLS AND EVENTUALLY DECIDED TO TURN THE FURNACE OFF UNTIL THE TECHNICIAN COULD MAKE A HOUSE CALL. IN THE MEANTIME, THE TECHNICIAN GAVE ME NEW FURNACE OPTIONS AT DIFFERENT PRICE LEVELS WHICH I RESEARCHED AND THEN CALLED HIM WITH QUESTIONS. HE WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. WHEN IT CAME TIME TO REPLACE THE FURNACE, THEY INITIALLY RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE AC UNIT AS WELL, BUT WHEN THEY SAW OUR AC UNIT, THEY SAID IT WAS A GOOD MAKE AND TOLD US IT WAS OKAY TO LEAVE AS IS. I FELT THEY WERE BEING HONEST WHEN THEY COULD HAVE PUSHED FOR THE EXTRA BUSINESS.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THEIR SALESMAN WAS THE WORST I HAVE EVER HAD WITH ANY SALESMAN, IT WAS UN-PROFESSIONAL, AND OFFENSIVE. WE HAD A QUESTION ABOUT SOME WORK, AND HE DID NOT KNOW THE HVAC CODES TO KNOW IF IT WOULD BE PERMITTED. WAS RUDE TO ME BECAUSE I DID NOT KNOW THEM. SECONDLY WHILE DISCUSSING A NEWSPAPER ARTICLE, I MENTIONED A PORTION OF THE ARTICLE, AND HE CALLED ME A LIAR STATING MY FACTS WERE INCORRECT, YET I HAD THE ARTICLE IN MY CAR WHICH COULD PROVE IT. I HAVE NEVER HAD SOMEONE TRY TO SELL ME SOMETHING, AND BE SO RUDE, CONDESCENDING, AND OFFENSIVE. I WOULD NEVER HIRE A COMPANY WITH A REPRESENTATIVE THAT THINKS IT'S OKAY TO GET IN THE CUSTOMER'S FACE AND CALL THEM A LIAR, AND STILL NOT KNOW THE HVAC CODES, AND WHAT IS ALLOWED ACCORDING TO STATE SAFETY STANDARDS.

THE SALES REP AND INSTALLERS WERE ALL PROMPT AND PROFESSIONAL.
Description of Work: OUR AIR CONDITIONER WENT OUT DURING THE HOTTEST DAYS OF JULY. CALLED AN ANGIE'S LIST H&C COMPANY WHOSE REP STATED THAT SINCE OUR AC WAS SO OLD IT WOULD BE LESS EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE IT THAN FIX IT. HE CHARGED $79 FOR THE SERVICE CALL AND LATER, HIS COMPANY GAVE US AN ESTIMATE OF $3880 TO REPLACE OUR EXISTING SYSTEM. I CALLED SWISS AIR, WHO GAVE A LOWER ESTIMATE ON A SIMILAR SYSTEM. WHEN THE WORKERS ARRIVED TO INSTALL THE NEW SYSTEM, THEY IMMEDIATELY FOUND THE PROBLEM WITH OUR EXISTING AIR CONDITIONER AND FIXED IT FOR A FRACTION OF THE COST OF REPLACING IT.

I WAS PLANNING TO HAVE THE AIR CONDITIONER FIXED WHEN I SCHEDULED THE SERVICE CALL. JIM TOLD ME THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS LEAKING FREON AND THAT IT WAS PROBABLY COMING FROM A BAD COIL BUT IT COULD BE SOMETHING MORE EXTENSIVE. HE SAID THE REPAIR WOULD EITHER BE $400 OR $750 DEPENDING ON WHAT THEY FOUND. EITHER WAY, THE PARTS WOULD HAVE TO BE ORDERED. HE ALSO INSERTED, AT 2 DIFFERENT TIMES, THAT HE WOULDN'T PUT THAT KIND OF MONEY INTO AN OLD SYSTEM, BUT WOULD REPLACE IT. HE ALSO SAID HE PUT A LITTLE FREON IN BUT LEAKED OUT. AS I WAS TRYING TO DECIDE WHAT TO DO, I RECALLED THAT WHEN I USED THIS COMPANY FOR MY OTHER HOUSE 2 YEARS AGO, THEY SAID THAT SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BUT I HAD IT FIXED AND ITS BEEN RUNNING SINCE. I PAID FOR THE ESTIMATE AND CALLED ANOTHER COMPANY. THE NEXT COMPANY SAID IT HAD PLENTY OF FREON IN IT AND FIXED A BAD SWITCH. IT HAS BEEN WORKING EVER SINCE.

WAS I LOOKING FOR THE STANDARD, PREFERRED OR OPTIMAL PRICE RANGE? ONCE WE DETERMINE A PRICE, WE CAN DETERMINE MODELS. PREFERRED COULD BE EITHER A 92% SINGLE STAGE FURNACE OR AN 80% 2-STAGE WITH VARIABLE SPEED FAN. THE SALESMAN LEFT THE STANDARD PRODUCT BROCHURES. THERE WAS LITTLE PROVIDED REGARDING THE ADVANTAGES, DISADVANTAGES AND POTENTIAL PAYOFFS FOR THE VARIOUS OPTIONS. HE TOOK HIS THREE PRICE RANGE CHART WITH HIM, AND LEFT NO WRITTEN QUOTE OR PRICING INFORMATION BEHIND.

KIRK SOLD ME THE SYSTEM JUST A FEW DAYS AGO. HE WAS HERE PROBABLY 1.5 HOURS EXPLAINING TO ME ALL THE DIFFERENT SYSTEMS, OPTIONS, ETC. HE WAS EXTREMELY THOROUGH. TODAY, DAN AND MATT SHOWED UP TO INSTALL THE SYSTEM. THEY WERE ABOUT A HALF HOUR LATE (FROM THE TIME WINDOW I WAS GIVEN). I WOULD HAVE APPRECIATED A CALL LETTING ME KNOW THEY WERE DELAYED, BUT I WAS NOT UPSET. WHEN THEY GOT HERE, THEY WERE JUST SO PROFESSIONAL AND EFFICIENT THAT IT COMPLETELY MADE UP FOR THEIR INITIAL TARDINESS. THROUGHOUT THE DAY, THEY TOOK SPECIAL CARE TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO MY HOUSE AND FURNISHINGS, AND CLEANED UP THE ENTIRE AREA BEFORE LEAVING. I AM VERY HAPPY TO HAVE COOL AIR RIGHT NOW, SINCE IT IS AROUND 90 DEGREES OUTSIDE. IT IS VERY CLEAR WHY THIS COMPANY HAS SUCH GOOD RATINGS FROM SO MANY OTHERS ON ANGIE'S LIST. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE AND WOULD HIRE THEM BACK ANYTIME I NEED HEAT/AC WORK DONE!

THIS WAS A GREAT COMPANY TO WORK WITH. THEY WERE ABLE TO SCHEDULE THE APPT. QUICKLY AND WERE ON TIME. THE TECHNICIAN TOOK HIS TIME AND EXPLAINED EVERYTHING TO ME. I WAS VERY IMPRESSED BY THE PROFESSIONALISM. THE TECHNICIAN SPENT OVER AN HOUR LOOKING AT THE SYSTEM AND MAKING MINOR REPAIRS. I THOUGHT THE COST WAS VERY FAIR, GIVEN THE AMOUNT OF TIME AND EFFORT.
