This company gave us a good quote and they gave us a lot of information on what would be best. We had a very positive experience and they were highly recommended. We saved five hundred dollars. They also had two one thousand dollar rebates that we were able to take advantage of.

I did run into one problem though they didn't get a work permit for the furnace so I was going to be charged by the state but swiss air took care of it for me. They were very responsible about they're mistake. One time I did have trouble having my calls returned but they were very apologetic. They stand behind they're work and do a great job. They were very friendly, and helped me get a bulb for my furnace that I needed. When there were any problems they tried to rectify it. Also they seemed to be very knowledgeable.

+ -1 moreTheir technician showed up on time and within 15 minutes was able diagnose and repair the air conditioner system (a bad capacitor - he had the replacement part on his truck). He checked the heater and found it dirty, but working properly. The bird-cage fan was filthy and I had him remove it, clean it and replace it. The technician also pointed out a UV air cleaner system that I didn't even know I had and identified who I would need to contact for any repairs to it. He also gave me advice on what I need to do when it comes time to replace the system regarding an under-sized return air. I was very impressed with their technician.
Description of Work: We recently purchased a home that had a lot of "deferred maintenance" and an air conditioner that wasn't working so I called Swiss Air to come out to service the system and see what it would take to repair the A/C.

+ -1 moreKirk was on-time, professional, and took the time to explain his products to me. He came up with an estimate and then e-mailed me the following morning with the formal proposal, as well as a follow-up call. The price he quoted me was for the Ruud 80% efficient furnace and 13 SEER A/C to heat/cool our 1200 sq foot condo. Both of these products appears to be of good quality, however, I was concerned because the A/C was not Energy Star rated. In the end we chose to go with another company of equal rating on Angie's List. But Swiss Air is a very customer oriented business, and I would not hesitate using them again for furnace and A/C needs.

We called several companies but Swiss responded fast and courteously (We still had companies calling us back on Tuesday). Swiss offered to come the same day with $30 extra for emergency service. Since Angie's members get 15% discount from Swiss, we agreed. The tech came and fixed our AC that afternoon. All in all, it was a good experience.

+ -1 moreThey came in and checked the AC and fixed the capacitor. My AC came on then and got the house cool! While the serviceman was here, he also looked at my furnace and AC unit and told me how old they are, so I know to start saving up for a new unit. He also showed me how to use my thermostat and told me that I need to change air filters in the furnace monthly. I appreciated all the help, since I am still learning about all this homeowning stuff!
Description of Work: We have central air, but last summer it wasn't working right. In the past four years I have not had the AC or Furnace looked at, so I figured it was about time. So, I contacted Swiss Air to come out to check it out and see how we could make it work.

Description of Work: I was having trouble with my Carrier gas furnace. Swiss Air diagnosed that I had a faulty gas valve diaphragm. They replaced the valve and provided basic cleaning and tuning of my furnace.

+ -1 moreThe early fall appointment was within a few days of scheduling installation; very speedy. It was fine and cleanly done. The company has been very responsive with two warranty appointments I've made since installation. Soon after I started using the heater, the humidifier developed a whistle. Upon inspection, they immediately replaced the connecting part between the water tube and the humidifier. Problem solved. Second, once the colder weather set in, I noticed a bit of a thunk when the fan shifted down to the lower speed on its way to turning off. Upon listening to the furnace cycle two or three times and checking for other possibilities, the technician identified this as the metal return air duct alongside the furnace contracting slightly once the force of blown air slows upon shifting down to the lower speed. Not much to be done about it.
Description of Work: I purchased a high efficiency furnace with a two-stage cycle and variable speed fan to replace my oversized, outdated furnace that was in the house (old two-story with the typically anemic air flow to the second floor) when I purchased it. I also opted to add the media filter and humidifier. Any additional work needed for proper installation was included in the price: This turned out to require (a) New installation of the portion of the return air duct running alongside the furnace and (b) New piping for horizontal ventilation out the side of the house rather than into the chimney. This was at no additional cost. The price also included a free air conditioner inspection this spring. (I hired the company for an air conditioner tune-up last spring). The price quoted was slightly more (less than 1%) than my best of three quotes. I erroneously factored additional costs (filter and humidifier) and Angie's List discounts to get totals; my own fault. But I'm not unhappy with the choice.

+ -1 moreWe woke up on the coldest day of this year and realized we had no heat. We called Swiss Air because we had used them before. It was a Sunday, and we figured we'd wait all day for a repair man, but we got a call back within 15 minutes. The man said he would be here by 2 and he actually arrived around 10:00. He checked out everything and we learned that we would need to replace our old furnace. Seeing our young child at home, he said he would do all he could to get the new furnace installed that day. He made a few calls and said he would have a team of three guys at our house by 4:00 at the latest. They arrived by noon! They were very friendly and fast. Our new furnace was installed and the old one removed by 3:30. We knew we would be paying extra for the weekend service, but everything went so smoothly and quickly, we felt it was worth it. We had Swiss Air install a furnace and central air in our old house, and we were very happy with the company then as well. Highly recommended!

+ -1 moreFor over 50 years we've used oil furnaces and this is the first time that we've had a company come out that after they left, we didn't smell oil. They did things other heating companies had never done before. When they came out they were prompt and came when they were suppose to be here. They cleaned up everything before they left, gave me the discount that Angie's List offers and I would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: They came out and serviced our oil furnace. They also serviced our gas furnace as well. There were two separate technicians who worked on both our gas & oil furnaces. (One tech worked on the oil furnace, the other tech worked on the gas furnace, on two separate occasions.)

Swiss Air installed our new furnace and A/C in our former home a few years ago; the furnace in our current home is five years old and had never been checked, so we called Swiss Air because we trust them to be honest and thorough. Bill and Mike did the tune-up, and remembered us. They checked everything out, gave us suggestions, and answered questions. I wanted an estimate on adding a whole-house humidifier, and they explained why we couldn't have one, and warned me against anyone trying to sell us one. Bill and Mike are friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous, and go above and beyond. They picked up some trash off the street that the garbage truck had dumped. And at great personal sacrifice to themselves, they helped me out on my diet by taking some bags of fattening Christmas goodies off my hands! As an aside, Nancy, who answers the phone at Swiss Air, is always pleasant and helpful, too.

+ -1 moreI was very pleased with the experience. Kirk is very knowledgeable, knows his stuff, and is happy to answer questions. He was also very patient with some pretty basic questions on my part. I was also very impressed with his (and the company's) focus on installation and the ongoing customer service experience. It's clear that both Kirk and Swiss Air have a very strong quality and customer satisfaction focus, and they back this up with some really compelling guarantees. For reasons not related to Swiss Air, I went with another company, but I would have absolutely NO reservations about recommending Swiss Air to others. Based on my experience with them, they not only provide high quality systems, but they are also very much focused on outstanding customer service and making sure the customer is happy. Highly recommended, as is Kirk!
Description of Work: I needed to replace my "builder's quality" heating and A/C system. After researching companies on Angie's List, I selected Swiss Air as one of three from which I wanted to get an estimate. I called the company, and they were very quick at getting someone out (basically the next day), much appreciated since I was without heating and the inside of my house was quickly becoming a refrigerator! Kirk from Swiss Air stopped by my house right on time as scheduled, and did a very thorough job of looking at the current ductwork, the rooms in the house, current system, etc. He then asked me some good questions to help determine my needs, any problems I'd had with the previous system, etc. After that, he suggested several different options and we discussed cost, system issues, etc.

+ -1 moreIf you have fuel oil, avoid this company. In removing the in-line filter, Dave yanked where he was supposed to use a wrench. The copper line ruptured, and fuel oil started to fill our basement. Instead of admitting that he had made a mistake, closing the valve to turn off the flow of the fuel oil, and repairing the line, Dave told us that we had a leak in our outdoor tank. He told us to call our fuel oil distributor to fix it and then left, never to return despite our pleas for help. Our fuel oil distributor told us the tank was fine, and to check the line. We did, found the leak, at the filter and turned off the fuel oil. By that time, we had an EPA situation in our basement and the furnace was damaged, along with our furnishings. We called our insurance company. They covered the loss and are pursuing Swiss Air. The stench lasted a month. All this misery could have been avoided if Dave had been honest and admitted his mistake. There is more, but I am out of space.
Description of Work: Regular Fall maintenance of two fuel oil furnaces, operating fine before the arrival of Swiss Air's incompetent representative, Dave.

The installation crew was second to none - really friendly and really taking care to do a good job on what was a really big job that required two crews working at the same time.

+ -1 moreThe salesman gave us the best price for a system by far ($6400), which included a furnace, A/C, humidifier and thermostat. However, I met with 3 other company's representatives, and when I looked back at this first estimate, I just didn't trust the guy in my gut. Compared to the others, he seemed really slick, and to make matters worse, he did not give me a written estimate. He also contacted me every few days until I made a decision. I know he's doing his job, but I also felt pressured. Finally, after I chose a different company that gave me a detailed written estimate and received all glowing reviews by Angie's List members, the salesman demanded to know why I did not choose his company. And the thing is, I am paying $700 more for almost the same system, just because I trust the other company more!
Description of Work: The salesman came to our house and spent an hour or so checking out our 55-year old furnace and 20+ year old A/C unit, and talking to me about what we need and giving an estimate.
