This is the second time I had to return an item to be re-done because it wasn't done right the first time.  Last time, I had a collar on an academic gown that needed repairing.  The first time they sewed it in such a way that it would not have stayed -- and there were large gaps between stitches, and it would not stay down.  The second time, they did a reasonable job.  They had done a fine job with the cleaning, and they're close, so I decided to take my cape to them.
They marked all the stains and said they didn't think it would be a problem to clean.  The first time, most of the stains were still there.  The second time, a few more were gone, but they had done some sort of pressing job that flattened the nap, highlighted the stains, and made the cape unwearable.  They wouldn't give me my money back because "we tired three times to get this clean -- and you're paying for the time and cost of cleaning."  The bottom line for them was that they had done the work, so they were keeping the money.
So... I took it to LA cleaners, who have the policy that if they don't get something clean and another cleaner does, they will pay the cost of the other cleaning.  When I went back to Callander to request this, I have had absolutely no response -- no phone call back; no return of my initial cost; no apologies for not getting something clean that another company was able to do; no return of the money I paid to have another cleaner clean it.
I will not use them again.  And I highly recommend avoiding them!

The sheers are as clean as I expected them to be. The price was also good. However, they actually had my sheers for weeks as they were undergoing staffing changes. We weren’t looking to have them back right away, but it did leave me hoping nothing happened to them while the time passed. However, the sheers turned out great!

When they gave me my bill, it was around $6.50. I did not understand how this was not dry cleaning, just laundry. I was told they had to be hand pressed and that they were women?s blouses. They charge women over $6 and charge men $2 for the same service. I called the vice president two times, Lynn Callander, and received no response. If you can press a small men?s shirt, you can press a woman?s shirt. Women need to be aware of this and are paying triple what men are paying. Simply by using the word blouse on a cotton shirt, they increase the price.

Always quick, courteous and explain what they are doing.

When I picked up the shirt I noticed that the shirt had been damaged by the cleaners, I returned the shirt to them and they tried to remove the stains they caused with no success. I told the management that I would like to be compensated for my ruined shirt. This was in July of 2007. Over the course of six months I have yet to be compensated. Visiting Columbus again in December I stopped in to speak with the manager. I was told no one was available. Lynn Callander suddenly appeared from the back. I asked her when I would receive the check promised many months back. She became verbally abusive, calling me names and swearing at me. I was told never to return to their store and to take my business elsewhere. She claimed the check was sent out, but I have NOT received it. She was going to verify if the check had cleared and reissue another. It is now one month later and I have not heard from them. It is obvious that this business does not value their long time customers.

Have tried Callander several times within the last year or two in search of decent shirt laundry. Service is indifferent at best (perhaps due to a busy storefront), and the shirts frequently arrived in only fair condition. There were recurring problems with the pressing and finishing which convinced me to stop using this company. (Having the shirts re-done usually produced results that were either similar or only slightly improved.)

I dropped off the jacket early in the week of April 23, 2007. It was to be ready after 4:00 p.m. on April 27. I did not attempt to pick it up until Monday, April 30 at which time I was told they "were still working on it because they had to order some zippers". I was told it would be ready Tuesday. I did not attempt to pick it up until Thursday, May 3 at which time they spent 15 minutes looking for it and coming up with a different story this time why it was not done. This time the story was the "person working on it had not been in all week". When I asked why the story had changed from the one I received on Monday, I got no response. Unfortunately, this establishment has a history of poor, poor customer relations. Finally, I was able to pick up the jacket on Friday, May 4, one week after it was promised.

Great. Items were ready when promised.

Callander Cleaners brought me a bag for my husband to put his shirts into. The laundry and pressing was good, but the delivery was so bad that I had to go to another cleaner after a few months. Originally they were going to pick up on Tuesday and deliver on Thursday, but the delivery guys would not come either to pick up and I would have to call. This created a problem for me as my husband didn't have a lot of shirts to spare. Often I ended up washing and ironing an emergency shirt and I HATE ironing!

Work was done, but almost 3 weeks? Dropped off jacket on 9-19-06 at Giant Eagle--they have Callander do their work. Stated I needed zipper fixed on jacket. Asked if I wanted cleaned. I stated no. Followed up on 10-1-06, was told price to clean jacket was $69. Stated again I didn't want it cleaned, just the zipper fixed. Giant Eagle called Callander, and still not ready. Finally visited my local Giant Eagle a third time on 10-6-06, and stated it had been almost three weeks and I wanted my jacket back tomorrow--fixed or not. I was starting to think they lost it when I finally got it back on 10-7. What a miserable experience. Incredibly poor customer service. If you enjoy gambling with your belongings, these are your guys.

The cleaner is slightly overpriced, but convenient. They keep several workers in the front for quicker response time. They have done a great job for me all year with a single exception. We had a quilt cleaned and it came back with dog hair on it. We don't have a dog! The cleaners cleaned it again and returned it to us hair-free. I will continue to use this as my cleaner. Alterations done here occasionally are a little on the slow side, but done well.

Their cleaning has been only fair, and downright sloppy on occasion (e.g., shirt collar or pocket flap pressed incorrectly or shirts returned with wrinkles or other mishaps). We have had issues with their delivery service as well. On many occasions the driver forgot to leave a return bag when delivering clothes, requiring us to call to obtain one. They seem to have trouble keeping a steady driver, requiring someone new to learn the ropes again and again. They lost articles of our clothing on several occasions, but these were ultimately found after we called. They're very pricey for the level of service provided ($7 for a simple skirt!), and don't seem to go the extra mile for the customer (e.g. a shirt missing a button won't come back repaired). Our experience with them over the course of a year has left has unimpressed.

PRICIER THAN THE COMPETITION BUT CONVENIENTLY LOCATED. FRIENDLY STAFF.

THEY PROMISED MY ORDER A FEW DAYS AFTER I DROPPED IT OFF. I WENT BACK IN A FEW DAYS AND THEY COULDNT FIND ANY OF IT. THEY THEN SAID THAT IF THEY COULDNT FIND IT SOON, THEY WOULD DELIVER IT TO ME. ULTIMATELY, I HAD TO GO BACK TO THEM, WHERE THEY DID FIND EVERYTHING.

THEY HAVE DONE A TERRIBLE CLEANING JOB: BREAKING & LOSING BUTTONS, NOT GETTING THINGS CLEAN, HAVING TO DO THINGS TWICE, NOT BEING ABLE TO FIND THINGS WHEN I COME IN. ALTERATIONS ARE WORSE: I'VE HAD SOMETHING HEMMED TWICE. FRONT DESK HELP IS HORRIBLE.
