"In December 2014, we installed (2) garage door openers. However, the one year labor warranty has long since expired. Our records show that no service has been performed, since the original installation."
Our garage door opening system was originally installed 2001.
I used them back in 2007 to replace a damaged roller (cost unknown) and again in 2011 to replace the main door bracket ($95 = $75 service call + $20 bracket) which had come off the door. They replaced it with a larger, sturdier bracket.
With the spring repair, the spring replacement was done and the door operated fine that day. When the door did not open properly the next day, they were out promptly to make the necessary adjustments.
CW Miller installed the garage doors on my home approximately five years ago. When I called them for a service call, which I was very willingly expecting to pay, they would not perform the service call to fix the issue with one of the doors. I am located approximately 40 minutes away, and when I called to schedule the service call, the owner said it would be 60 dollars for the service call, in addition to the service, whatever was needed. I was OK with that!!!! He said he would call me back to schedule "within a week." He did call back a week later and said the service call would be about 135 dollars. I did not say no to that, but I did say "What about the 60 dollars that you already quoted me?" He didn't really answer and, again, said he'd call me back. So, two or three more days passed and he called back and left me a voicemail saying that I "...needed to call someone else." I was in shock because I never once said I wouldn't pay the service call. I called them back immediately and asked to speak to the owner again and the secretary had no interest in having him call me back by saying "Well I can't force him to call you." She was ZERO help and could care less about me. The owner never returned my call. Remember, this is a company that ORIGINALLY installed my garage door, and my only guess as to why they will not help me is because I am about 30 to 40 minutes away. VERY disappointing and VERY RUDE on the phone. What a joke of a business. I will not suggest this company to anyone, how could I?
"We installed garage doors (November 2007) and electric openers (February 2008) through one of our builders. We fulfilled our labor warranty of one year. When Mr. [Member Name Removed] called for service, years later, we suggested that he call a company that was located closer to his house. At no time were we rude. In fact, Mr. [Member Name Removed] has since been to our office to purchase parts."
When calling CW Miller (15 months after the original installation) I was greeted with a woman who told me that the original request regarding the coil was due to me closing the garage door on something. Then, despite me being 3 months out of warranty, and the constant issues that have come up with simply opening and closing my garage, CW Miller has refused to stand behind their work, asking me to pay $80 for a service fee. In some sense, I feel like this garage was installed completely incorrectly only to later be able to reap the benefits of a repair.
I'm a fair consumer, and I rate companies equally, so when calling CW Miller to talk through honoring the fact that my garage isn't even 2 years old, and has been serviced once already and now requires another service because it will not even close, and now the remote is broken, I'm simply told the warranty is over so pay up. Truly disappointed, and will EASILY find someone else to fix this issue despite it being at my cost for a brand new garage door opener.
"We installed garage doors and electric openers on Mr. [Member Name Removed]'s new home in June 2012 and September 2012, respectively. In January 2013, we were contacted to service his garage door. Once the technician/business owner arrived, he noticed that the cable was off, the door was crooked and had been forced down, which damaged the vertical track. We repaired the door, straightened the track (best as possible), but did not charge him. Someone, at Mr. [Member Name Removed]'s home, implied that the door may have been closed on a tricylce. Regardless, this is NOT a warranty issue and we would have been well within reason to have charged for the repair, but we didn't. So we do not appreciate Mr. [Member Name Removed] suggesting, that when we installed the doors & openers, it was "completely incorrectly only to later be able to reap the benefits of a repair." This is absurd, not only have we been in business since 1961, but we have an excellent rating with the BBB. Any company operating their business, as he says we have, would not be in business for over 50 years. January of 2014 was the first time that Mr. [Member Name Removed] ever expressed any issue(s) with his electric opener. For someone who claimed to be experiencing "constant issues", I'm not sure why he wouldn't have contacted us sooner. While he seemed to be well aware that his warranty was up, he became very angry, once he heard that there would be a service charge."
"Mr. [Member Name Removed]'s garage doors were originally installed April 2006. Nearly five years later, he calls informing us that the bottom seal, is and always was, too short. While the seal and labor were way past the one-year warranty, we offered to give him a replacement seal. Mr. [Member Name Removed] declined the offer, since he was looking for us to also install the seal (at no charge). Mr. [Member Name Removed] contacted us in 2015, requesting our services to replace a broken spring. We declined his request."
