I tell you what I was disappointed the last time.  There was a couple of things, actually they didn't tighten the door as well as it should have been, and my contractor who was doing some other work at the house noticed it.  And that could have been something that was very negative, it could have been parts of the garage could have fallen on the car, part of the door.  So I would have second thoughts about calling them back, even though they were reasonable.

They came on on March 6th came because my garage door wouldn't go up and down property. They cleaned stuff and replaced the rollers. I used them for a number of years and never had a problem with them. They came when they wanted and noticed a problem with alignment. They checked both doors and replaced the rollers on the big door. They also came out this past Monday. The cable broke on my big door and knocked the door off alignment. They came with in two hours of me calling them and took care of it. They didn't have to replace the track, just the cable. He told me that the cable had rusted and told me how to prevent the problem in the future. I felt very blessed because he knew exactly what he was doing.

They took my old keypad off and didn’t put a new one on.  I called and called and they never answered. I left messages and didn’t get a callback.  I ended up having another company come out and replace the keypad. Most recently the door came off of the trac and the truss broke loose from the garage wall. I called and did talk to Angie and she said she would call me back once she got into the office. I still haven’t heard from them. They seem to b e ducking my repair and not wanting to honor the work.
Response from Budget Door Inc

"First let me say this is the first time I have since this review so I wasn't aware of it. Customer did express this concern to budget about service tech not installing keypad at time of service and unfortunately it did take me some time to get back to her due to an life threating illness that I was being treated for. I did send Lewis out on 12/2/2015 to install her keypad. Mrs. [Member Name Removed] had been a customer of ours for some years and we are very sorry that she was so unhappy with our company that is certainly not our intention nor our goal."

Early Friday evening, the garage door opener pulled away from the wall basically incapacitating the opener and making the garage non usuable.  While this was not a life threatening inconvenience, it was an inconvenience none the less.  I called first thing Monday morning and Budget had Lewis, one of their service reps at the house between 8am and noon.  Lewis assessed the situation and re-attached the opener arm to the wall in a very secured process in no time.  There was no charge due to the timeframe of the initial installation, warranty work.  Needless to say we were very pleased and happy about the initial purchase from Budget Door even though we did experience the minor inconvenience.  They made things right in very short order.  Thanks.

They gave me an estimate on 12/24 but had to order the door because it was an odd size. A wonderful employee came out and assessed my problem. When the door came in they called right away to let me know it was in. They came out that day to install it.  They are very professional and service oriented. They are extremely polite and courteous!  I would recommend them to anyone.  I've had nothing but great experiences with them. They were super to work with!

They put screws in the drywall and fixed the door. I spent as much to repair it as a new one would have cost.

Had Budget Door install the Liftmaster 3850 on 10-31-08.  It was supposed to have battery backup system, which is optional (and recommended).
1. Later, the electric eye safety units got out of alignment.  I fixed this myself numerous times.  Finally, I had Budget come out to fix the electric eyes again, cost of a service call.  The electric eyes again went out of alignment so I had to fix them again myself (permanently).
2. A buzzer started to go off in the motor unit June, 2013.  The wall panel says "battery is low" on the backup system.  I removed the battery cover and found no battery or battery terminals.  This means there is no battery backup system.  The Liftmaster manual says if the buzzer is going off, call your installer for service.
3. I called Budget Door and a lady called me back.  She said: I don't know what the message/buzzer means, I will have to call the manufacturer.  I'm on a service call and I don't know if you have the battery backup system.  I will call you back.
4. I gave Budget Door my work and home phone numbers but got no call back for over a week and still have not. The buzzer was still going off every half minute. Despite the fact that I am not a mechanic or technician, I was able to disassemble the motor unit while I was on a ladder.  I found the piece on the circuit board that makes the buzzing sound and pried it off.  So far, the unit works again and no buzzing.
I won't be spending my time or money on Liftmaster or Budget Door in the future.
Response from Budget Door Inc

"I am sorry that (deleted member name) feels we didn't give him good customer service. I did return his call on June 24, 2013 and he explained to me that he had a Chamberlain #3850 with battery back and that the battery had gone bad. I asked (deleted member name) if I could pull his records and call him back which he said was fine. After reading his paper work I called and left message for (deleted member name) at work and at home. He had a Chamberlain #3280 1/2hp belt drive opener with 2 remotes and keypad installed on 10/31/08 this unit does not have battery back nor does it have the option for a battery back-up. As for the issues about service calls when were called out on 4/4/08 for a basic service call on 4/18/08 customer called back and said that the door was coming down a little bid in the opening we came back out and added tension to his springs, and talked to customer about his Genie chain glide opener lifting a heavy wooded door and that it was slipping we also turned the up & down force all the way up we did not charge this customer for this call back. These service calls were done in April of 2008 and the opener wasn't installed til October of 2008. As for the electric eye issue this is a very common problem, all safety eyes (electric eyes) are attached to the bottom of each garage door track with wing nuts, these nuts offen come loose with the vibration of the opener, also customers store brooms, rakes, trash cans, etc right by these tracks and these items hit the safety eyes knocking them out of alignment. Our goal is to provide great customer service and give all our customer 100% customer service I feel I did that for (deleted member name) after leaving a message for him about the battery back we didn't hear back from him so I just assumed that I had answered his questions."

The whole process went quite smoothly.  I scheduled the appt two days out with Angie over the telephone.  The technician (Todd) was on time, professional, gave me additional information (maintenance, troubleshooting steps, etc.).  Prices seemed fair.  Overall, I was quite pleased with the service.

I called the company early on Friday 05/24 and explained my issue with my door. I spoke with Angie, she advised someone could be out that day and told me from what I explained my service would be roughly 140.00 and that included the service call. Todd, the repair person arrived within the time frame given.  When taking my opener apart, he realized the parts he had were larger than what I needed. He advised they (the company) would search within the city to find the correct parts.  He then told me it would cost me 140.00 plus the 39.95 service fee. I was a little shocked at that time, b/c again, I was told by Angie the 140.00 (estimated cost) included the service fee. I did not respond on what she told me. Todd advises they would call me back when they located the parts to reschedule my service.
I called the company back on Thursday May 30 and left a voice mail inquiring about if the parts had been located and to follow up. Another male from the company called back on 05/31 and advised the parts had been located and Todd could be back out that morning between 11am-1pm, I agreed. I noticed that people within this company don't like to tell you their name when answering the phone; it's refreshing to know whom you are speaking with.
Todd came back out to complete me work. I am satisfied with the outcome, but not the overall price difference nor the fact that there company also writes down your credit card # on your invoice. There needs to be a better paying system or safeguard in place to protect consumers CC information when paying.

We noticed our garage door making strange noises when the door was being raised. One torsion spring was broken placing great stress on our 15 year old garage door opener. Called Budget Door in the AM and Todd was dispatched within a few hours. He said he could replace only the broken spring but that in his experience within the next couple of months the other would also break. In addition, after inspection, he showed us how the bearings were destroying the spring shaft. We had those replaced also. The price seemed a little high but all of the critical hardware was replaced and I don't expect to have any more issues with the door itself. The entire job took only 45 minutes and we were very happy to have had the job done so promptly.

This company came recommended by two co-workers.  I called and made an appointment for 3-5 on Friday.  A few minutes before 5, I received a call from the company stating that one of their trucks had broken down and they would not make it out that day.  Very disappointing.  However, I rescheduled for Monday.  That day, their technician arrived at the agreed upon time and quickly completed the job.  I can once again open the door, and the opener is much quieter than before.

Door has worked very well after being serviced. However, opener is very old and may need to be replaced soon. This company's technicians are very quick and knowledgeable and will not try to sell you something you don't need.

Rather than replacing the opener now, technician suggested adjustment to see if we could get some extra life out of this old unit. He only charged $27 trip charge as they had been here five months prior adjusting the door tracks and replacing a roller. This unit has operated well after the adjustment. You can be sure I will call them for the replacement as we have used them many times in the past at multiple locations and have always been very satisfied. You can't go wrong using this company.

As usual, (I have used this company for several years) my request for service was provided promptly at the agreed upon time.  Lewis was friendly but professional.  He willingly answered my questions and provided advice on how to handle some issues should they occur. Once again I was pleased with the service this company provided and plan to use them again next year.

I called at 8am on a Friday and was told they'd be there between 8am and 10am that morning.  They arrived as planned and it took about 15 to 20 minutes to complete.  You can't ask for any better than that.  Budget Door has always been there when I need them.  It's nice to know you have a company you can really rely on when you need them.

I had a wonderful experience with Budget Door. I stopped by their office on a Thursday afternoon, after already obtaining a few other quotes from businesses I found with "A" ratings on Angie's List. This was my last quote before making a decision, and they were by far the best deal I found. I was given a quote for the same brand of door and a better opener (the other quotes did not have a key pad) than the other business I had already visited, and for almost $200 less. I was offered an installation appointment for the next Monday, but due to my schedule I waited until Wednesday. My appointment window was 1-3 pm and I had been told it would take about 3 hours. Instead they arrived early and finished in less than the quoted 3 hours. All of the old tracks, door, opener, etc. were removed and the new equipment was installed professionally and so far everything has been wonderful.  I really like working with a family business without subcontractors too, I could not be happier with the experience.

They have always been reliable. Their price is competitive. We used them for the bolt and spring and for the opener. We are very pleased. There are no issues since we have them replaced. They were doing good.

Recommended the horsepower we needed for our double garage door which included the keypads and remotes.   We have been very happy with the performance of this garage door opener.    The performance and features have lived up to the expectations set.

My 25 year old Genie garage door openener died on me on a Thursday night. I called Angie at Budget Door on their emergency, after hours number and was promised I could get on the schedule the next day.
Next day, as promised, J.R. came out and tried to fix my unit. He was honest and said even if he did, it didn't have much life left in it.
He quoted me price for new unit, including installation and said he would call next day to schedule time to install. I received a discounte off the service call as I purhcased the unit through Budget Door.
Installation day came, J.R. returned, and as promised installed new unit, hauled away old, and trained me on how to operate my new opener.
Great service, great staff, great company!

The whole process was extremely quick in comparison to other projects. From the time that I made the inital contact to Budget Door Inc. until completion was less than 25 hours. The installer, John came at the beginning of the 8 to 10 am "window", which I personally appeciated, since I despise waiting around for things. The company is very professional and great at what they do.
