The policy of the insurance company is that they will replace or give a check to replace the covered item if it can not be fixed.  Big Ten came out about five days after our initial contact, the technician said that a small part needed to be replaced and he had to see if they make it anymore. We were told that we would get a call to let us know when they could come install the part. Then we were told by phone much later that week that the part was no longer made. A phone call to the insurance company ended up with the insurance company saying they found the part and Big Ten would come out and install the part. When we checked in with Big Ten, we were told they could not come until the following week!

The technician came out, ran a dishwasher cleaner, installed the part, the dishwasher still did not function properly.

This time, Big Ten was to call the insurance company to say to say it could not be fixed. Big Ten's secretary, Tina called a few days ago to the insurance company to say it could not be fixed (this is a week after the technician was here). However, when we called the insurance company to check on the status last night, the insurance company needed more of a diagnosis as to why. They asked that the technician call in to give a report. This morning my husband began to call Big Ten to make sure they got the message that the technician needed to call. He also sent a fax to them. He has left numerous phone messages and no one has called back. We are on the phone now once again with the insurance company who says Big Ten still has not called in with a detailed diagnosis.

This process was begun (this time) in the last week of October. Here we are in the second week of December and we still do not have a functioning dishwasher!

Big Ten should at the very least answer the phone when calls come in on an open "account." We will  never allow them in our home again and are thinking about finding another home  insurance company as well.

Discovered that the fridge was no longer keeping things cold. We called Big Ten Appliance service and spoke to the tech and got the appointment set up right away.I was impressed that they were able to come out later that day. The tech wasted no time getting to work and quickly diagnosed the problem. He then gave a us a very reasonable estimate and even had the piece in his truck. Within a half an hour start finish he was done and left no mess behind. We will definitely use them again.

Excellent service from beginning to end. Called to make an appointment. Arrived within scheduled time. Serviced the oven by changing out the bake ignitor. Was the owner who made the service call. Very friendly, polite and said to call him if any additional problems.

Overall, a very good experience. I called on a Monday, they were able to come out that Wednesday. They called me about 20-30 minutes before they got to the house. The repair guy was nice and definitely knew what he was doing. I explained the problem to him, and he had the machine open and the problem diagnosed in a very short time. Fixed it quickly, tested it to be sure it worked. The whole thing probably took only a half hour or so.

He took the plate off that holds the door and put the object the door sits on back on. He put the door back on and it was very easy for him. He did a really good job and I will definitely call him again. I told my friends he was very reasonable.

Les arrived when promissed, diagnosed the problem, fixed it immediately and cleaned everything up afterwards. Peggy, the person answering the phone was courteous, could tell me when the technician could arrive and called when he was on the way. Price was very reasonable. I would definitely use Big 10 again and would recommend them.

He is prompt and wonderful. He diagnosed issues we had with the subzero and told us to call the manufacture because it was still under warranty. He has also repaired our ice maker, stove, oven, and wine cooler which were not in warranty. He always looks for the easiest fix first, rather than the most expensive. Our appliances have been working since he fixed them, he has not had to come back twice. He does not charge you until it the problem is fixed, even if he has to make mulitple trips.

Our dishwasher wasn't doing much washing. We called Big Ten and they called back and suffered through the very complicated process of finding a good date/time to come out. They showed up as promised and repaired the unit (one of the components was clogged). We thought $80 was a good price AND they didn't tell us that the dishwasher needed to be replaced.

I called Big Ten Appliance and left a voicemail message on a Sunday after my dryer stopped suddenly. They returned my call on Monday and scheduled the work for Tuesday. The technician called to say he was on his way and arrived as expected. I thought it was probably a broken belt. Although I had checked the upstairs fuse box panel, he discovered that there was no power going to the dryer. We checked the basement panel and turned the switch back on. I was embarrassed that I had not checked the basement panel myself, but he gave me good information about what to do if it happens again and the breaker needs to be repaired. I only paid the minimum service call charge.
