Subpanel was added which required moving existing circuits around in existing panel plus the addition of new subpanel. Since the install I've found several circuits do not match labels that previously did (I assume because once circuit was moved the label wasn't updated). Additional outlet added to finished garage, hole was cut larger then outlet box which will required sheetrock work to correct. Left all trash from work in basement for me to dispose of. Line item invoice was not provided so I have no idea why anything cost.

The company had excellent communication, were knowledgable in the subject area, and were helpful in their advice. The guys that came out and did the work were prompt, friendly, courteous, incredibly careful, fast, and did a great job. Pro all around and a thoroughly happy experience.

Very professional and reliable company. I have complete trust in David and his employees. They are very honest and upfront about what is involved in a project and what it will cost.

As in the past, Big City Electric provided exemplary, spot-on service. I emailed Big City to inquire about the possibility of adding an outlet, and we had an appointment scheduled within 24 hours. Bryan T. and Jack arrived were super prompt (and in fact five minutes early). They got right down to work, installed the new outlet, and cleaned up the porch in just under and hour. One of the easiest home improvement tasks we've had done. Wouldn't let another electrician touch our place.

An appointment was set for that afternoon. His guys called 30 minutes ahead. Two men showed up and listened to my problem and immediately got to work. They quickly began checking every possible thing that could have gone wrong and fixed them. There price was more than fair, I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND BIG CITY ELECTRIC for any problems I would have in the future.

He was professional, completed work in less than an hour, explained procedures and very experienced.

Big City Electric is a great company to work with because of its owner, David. Our home was built in 1930 and needed extensive electrical work. We had quotes from several electricians. Many said what we wanted couldn't be done, but David was able to easily accomplish everything. He was also full of helpful ideas and suggestions.
What sets David apart from others we have worked with is the way he handled some of the challenges that occurred. We had many issues with the job. None of them were an issue with Big City or David. If a challenge occurred, David was always there to make everything right and went above and beyond what 99% of other contractors would do. It is one thing to say you are a hard working person of integrity, but David's actions demonstrate that he is this type of person.

We are very pleased with Big City Electric. The job started on a Monday and time ran out so it had to be finished the following Monday. I loved how everything on the list was individually priced as that helped us budget. There is still more on the list but will have to wait until next year. David is great to work with, but needs to slightly work on communication. Much of our correspondence was via email and he said he would let me know in a day or two but wouldnt hear from him for about a week. I know he is a busy man and commercial jobs are probably the companies and quot;bread and butterand quot; over residential jobs. There is a travel fee ($50.00) and 3% charge for using a credit card. I was hoping they would bill me but payment is due at the end of the job. Another thing I didnt like was the employees smoking on my property. Overall, we are pleased and I cant wait to rehire them to complete the work!

Dave is fantastic! We needed a Knob and Tube evaluation done to followup on a Gas Company's and quot;energy audit,and quot; before we could insulate our house. At first we called a different company, paid that company $149, and that company's representative did not appear to know what the task required. After trying to get the issue resolved, we ended up calling Big City Electric--what a difference! Dave came to the house, arrived on time, knew what was needed, educated us about Knob and Tube wiring, found that wiring in our house, knew efficient ways to address safety concerns of the gas company, was respectful of our old house. His quote was quite reasonable. We hired Big City to remediate the wiring and they were able to fit the work into their busy schedule. The employee arrived on time, worked efficiently and quickly, upgraded the wiring as needed, left a clean workplace, explained his work, answered any and all of our questions. We really appreciated Big City's expertise, clarity, price, and we have confidence in the job they performed. We recommend them without reservation.

They did a great job. Would hire them to do more electrical work for us. The owner was polite and very knowledgeable.

David has a love and appreciation for these older homes and he understood we wanted care taken to retain the original character of the home. Every effort was made to accomplish this with astounding success!
David knew we were working with a Fannie Mae Homestyle loan (lighter than a Streamlined 203k). This has its inherent drawbacks for contractors (payment at end of work, paperwork, hoops, etc). David was willing to work with us on this and was quite honestly the BEST contractor we worked with on our renovation project from every possible standpoint: price, quality, workmanship, flexibility, and communication.
David provided a quote that was competitive with three other bidders. He was not the cheapest, nor the most expensive. But after walking through our house with David (before we even put in an offer on it) we knew David best saw our vision and would best help us make it a reality.
David personally showed up on Day One with his foreman to get the job started. His crew of 2-4 guys (the number depending on the work being done that day), was professional, courteous, and engaging. David was periodically around to get certain tasks done himself and to oversee the progress and to get our feedback.
It took two weeks to get 99% of the work done, but David and his crew came back to button up loose ends, tidy things up and make sure we had everything we wanted.
I'm an electrical engineer, and I would normally do my own light electrical work from here on out, but because of their speed, quality, cleanliness, professionalism, and ability to get the customer what they want, I will be using Big City Electric for all but the smallest of electrical jobs around my property. David and I have already discussed the options I have when it comes time to build a garage, move the laundry room, renovate kitchens and baths, and many other projects to come over the years. David and his team were truly a real pleasure to work with and I will happily call him out for all things electrical.

They were friendly and they were fun to work with. They had fun personalities; I just had the same feeling I have when I am with my brothers, so I got along with them very well. The work they did is working perfectly after a year now.

The electrician worked tirelessly trying to resolve some of the crazy wiring issues in my old house. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and showed great problem solving skills. Because the house is old and has been remodeled by numerous former residents, it has wires all over the place that don't necessarily make sense. Some things that we assumed would be routine turned into quite a challenge. However, the electrician was dedicated to figuring out the unusual (and very hazardous) wiring problems for which I am grateful. I certainly feel like I got my money's worth and wouldn't hesitate to call Big City Electric again.

They were good! Their service price is reasonable. What I like about them is that they were really quick. I remembered when I called them on a Monday, and they were able to provide services for me that afternoon or the next day. I like that!

We wanted to get insulation in the home but because is an old home (German Village) the insulation company told us we needed to upgrade the knob and tube electrical on all the outside walls. We used 3 companies in Angie's list to get quotes. One company didn't even bother coming back because it was going to be too expensive for us. I forgot their name. But Big City electrick, quoted us and finished the job under estimate and here is the shocker. They charged me less because they over estimated the time!
I'm very happy for such honesty.

The job went very smoothly. The guys were great! I had them remove and take out of service all the knob and tube wiring from my house. They updated my breaker box, got all the permits that they need from the city, got the job done in 6 days and kept me informed off all their progress. Every night before they left they swept up and mopped my floors because plaster walls do make a mess when being drilled into.

I felt very comfortable with leaving them the keys to my house. They were respectfully of my property and covered up anything that could get plaster dust on it.

They installed all my new indoor/outdoor lights as well as installed my new ceiling fans and bathroom exhaust fan.

All my emails were answered promptly and they took the time to explain to me what codes needed to be meet.

They never slacked off, all of their work was done professionally, and they were fun to be around.

They have earned all of future bussiness.

Electrician showed up on time. Rewired the fluorescent light as requested. Fast. Polite. Knowledgeable.

They also over saw the installation of a new generator.

Overall the service was fantastic. He knew what he was knowledgeable and was did not leave any mess. A very professional company.
