Very, very reliable!  A real "go-to" for Mini service

Had been looking for a place other than a dealership to do maintenance on my Mini.  Gave Best Motor Works a try.  I had had a problem with a tie sensor as well.  John recommended another business to take care of it as they didn't do tires.  He called the place and got me right in.  He called me the next day to make sure all went well with it!  He went above and beyond which for me is hard to find.  I've found the place to take care of my Mini!

I had been looking for a place to get my maintenance done on our MINI Cooper Countryman. The dealership was getting too expensive for routine maintenance items. However, it's hard to find someone that specializes in MINIs:  they're relatively rare around here I've had poor experiences with generic "we fix any car" shops (which is why I had been going to the dealer in the first place).
After much online research, Best Motor Werks came out as the top contender for my business. So I made an appointment.
John Best, the owner, was pleasant and responsive. No problems. Did the job right, on time, and for a good price.
 Best Motor Werks is primarily a BMW specialist, but does MINI (made by BMW) as well. John pointed out a few things that were going to need to be replaced soon. However, there was nothing like the "we recommend scheduling a replacement of  this part before you leave today" pressure that I've gotten at other shops. He didn't seem interested in selling stuff that I didn't really need. He showed me what to keep an eye on, and that was that. Get in. Change oil. Get out.
I was a little leery when I first arrived: the shop is in an industrial park by the airport. It's not in a high-rent district. It's not an auto-spa (or whatever the dealership is styling themselves as), but that wasn't what I was there for. The waiting area was just a couple of chairs by the door: I imagine that I'll drop my car off for anything other than an oil change. And while the shop lacks the spit and polish of a dealership, I was made to feel like -I- was the customer, rather than my credit card.

First time using John for repair work.  Thought he did a fantastic job from start to finish.  He fully explained why everything was needed and the costs. Additionally he called for approval to do some extra work that he suspected would be required - It was not once his tech was able to review in detail.  Finally, he ended up NOT replacing some of the parts that he originally quoted after seeing them up close and realizing that they were still good and had more life in them.  I thought that was a nice touch.  Basically, he is honest and up front on all possible costs and is committed to only repairing the items that actually need it!

I have used Best Motorwerks for over 10 years and John has always done the work promised and for less than the dealers.
My BMW always runs like new after he services whatever ails the car. I have taken 4 BMW's into his for service and they always
are done on time and to my specifications. Very seldom have I ever had to take the car back because of problems t hought to be fixed and John immediately repairs what is needed. I don't have to wait in the waiting room having coffee before I ever talk
to the service man and John is always straight forward in his estimation of what is wrong and what needs to be done.
At times he may be a little higher than a neighborhood shop but his work is excellent and very timely.
I have taken my BMW to the dealer at times but it only reminds me that Best Motorworks is a better deal. I just hope he doesn't raise his prices after he reads this recommendation.

I dropped the car off and picked it up later that same day. The owner is a personable guy, he didn't charge me for any of the work he wasn't able to fix even though they had spent time diagnosing it.

Best took the car immediately -- on a Friday as I recall -- though noting he might not be able to get to it immediately. As I recall, it remained in his shop over a weekend, with the work completed and ready for pickup on the following Tuesday.
Power steering has worked fine since the repair.
I am pleased with the quality of the work and I found John Best to be very easy to work with.
I did not offer a price rating because I don't know what these repairs would have cost at another shop, so have nothing to compare to.

The owner ,John Best, seems to have a real love and dedication to BMWs,and is incredibly knowledgeable as well as fair minded. You can tell he is a real and quot;straight shooterand quot; to use a well-traveled term. Very positive experience.

Overall great service

I called John to et up an appointment. He scheduled me the next week and I left my car at his garage for the week so he could fit me in when he received the part. I furnished the oil but totally relied on him to do the rest. I had just puirchased the BMW M3 and wanted to have him check it out and complete the service requiring immediate attention. He provided me with a a 'to do' list and he completed what I could afford to have done at this time. His proices were reasonable compared to the dealership and I believe he knows BMW autos and is able to perform service on them as well as anyone. I will return in the Spring so that other scheduled maintenance issues can be completed.

John gave me a list went over every item told me which were important today which could wait. It's a 99 BMW but today it drives like it is brand new. John is through in his work takes pride in what he does. Told me the price actually saved me some money. completed the job quickly. Also had his guy detail my car can't believe how my car looks and drives.

The car was constantly refusing to start after short trips around town. We had to put a charger on it several times to get it to start, once started it ran fine.
We had BMW work on our car in the past and felt they were the best people for the job.
It appears after having a diagnostic test done that we needed a new battery. John the owner took care of this problem in a timely manner. He was most helpful.
We will take the car back in the near future for a few things that need to be done.

John has performed service on this vehicle before.  I made an appointment to have the seat motor repaired/replaced, and the fluids checked/replaced.  John performed all of the necessary services, and fixed the security alarm, which was not chirping.  The service took longer than expected because the seat motor had to be ordered from an external source, and it was not delivered when promised.
The car runs smoothly, and looks better than it did the day I bought it.
