Bello Giardino, LLC has been serving the Grandview, Upper Arlington, Clintonville, Worthington, and Columbus areas for over 18 years. Daniel Ney received his Bachelors of Science in Agriculture degree from The Ohio State University, and after being a golf course superintendent and managing several landscaping businesses, he decided to start his own business. Opening Bello Giardino with only himself and a truck, he has since expanded his company to include various office staff, landscape designers, several crews, and all the equipment necessary to deliver nothing less than exceptional results. Bello Giardino specializes in residential design, construction, installation, maintenance, as well as several other specialty services. Their number one goal is to give the customer exactly what they envision.

Works was adequate yet terrible customer service. The owner was rude and insulting when I inquired about plants that have died. I was taking ownership where I could but did not appreciate his insulting manner and tone. Do not recommend. Plenty of other professional landscape companies

Very happy with results.
Had done yard last year by ourselves and could not keep up.
Had used Bello Giardino in the fall for fall cleanup so it helped get things in good shape
They cleaned up all the yard debris from the winter and mulch beds looking great.
They had to come back to fill in a spot but there were no questions and they took care of it the next day.
Very pleased and using them for fertilizer and monthly touch-up this year

Bruce is amazingly detail oriented and real a pro. I am not sure I follow the other reviews here as perhaps the rest of the company has issues, but if you are one of the few folks that can get on Bruce's schedule, treat him well. He has gone above and beyond repeatedly. They are indeed a bit pricey, but they do everything right the first time, are exceptionally detail oriented, and I don't have to hound them for anything after the fact. That is of huge value to me and good service is worth paying for.

In short, the fence is horrible. Originally, I questioned if they stained the fence afterward(which was an additional $800) and was assured it was stained. Slowly, a few boards started to warp and pop off - Dan would send someone over to "replace the board." 2 years later i have warped boards popping off of my fence all over the place many of the same boards that were "replaced" keep popping out along with many new boards each month so i doubt anything more than re-nailing them was done in the first place. Also, another professional noticed they used non-galvanized nails so they are basically just disintegrating in the weather and are no match for the warping boards. I'll probably need to get all of the vertical boards replaced in the very near future. It's pretty awful for what i was sold as a "20 year fence." Dan seems like a pro, but i think whoever he contracted this to did a half-assed job.
The sod was an abject disaster as well. almost completely dead in back yard, but i don't blame the company for that. i think it was just a bad idea on my part.

"You called and told us there was a problem with a few boards warping. We came out and resolved the issue for you. And we have never heard any complains since the last time we were out in 2013. If you let us know your concerns or complains within a year guarantee, we would send people out to fix or resolve it right away. As far as the sod, there is no guarantee on sod as we stated in the contract. Sod lives or dies depending on how much water you provided. We are sorry that you are unhappy."

I had gone several weeks without a Landscaper so the yard needed some TLC ahead of a weekend event, and they were able to work me into their schedule for a clean up on short notice. The yard hasn't looked this good in years. Their staff has been professional, courteous and they do a complete job. They certainly aren't afraid of hard work.

The landscaping went very well. The construction of the shed was good, but the workers didn't square the foundation of the shed, so when flooring was added, the dimensions were off. Did not weed prior to laying gravel.

Dan came out to help consult when my project grew to a snail's crawl from my own design and work at my house (I am a diehard do-it-yourselfer). I lost my vision mid project and needed an educated eye. Dan and his crew saved my project! He took the time to educate me and was patient with me wanting to help and save a few bucks which was nice. I asked about pricing and really, for his education, insight, attentiveness and capability. It became evident that he would be able to fix and complete my project at a price that was quite reasonable considering the scope. Dan and his crew exceeded my expectation and the company reputation is well deserved. I will hire him on my new house, I guarantee it!

I am reviewing this because when I logged in I saw a request for reviews of this company. It makes me frustrated and angry even to remember this transaction.
After I called this company to ask for an estimate on seeding and mulching an area of the lawn that had been torn up for sewer repair, the owner, Dan Ney, came to my house at around 6 pm. I stood out front with him for over half an hour while he explained what he could do and why their method was superior. He said he would send a contract by email the next morning. When it didn't arrive, we called to remind them. It was a form that said little, and the price was $200.
When the workmen came, they kept asking me what they were supposed to do, after I had explained it. This confused me, and I said, "It should be clear in the contract. If you don't know what to do, call your boss." They did that on their cellphone. I was not expecting to supervise this work, and went back in the house. I was mildly surprised sometime later when I noticed that they were still there, and were slowly dribbling mulch on the front garden by handfuls.
When the bill arrived it was for over $600. We called the owner to question this (my husband and I were both on the phone). He said we told the workmen to mulch the whole front garden, and that they were there for hours. His manner was belligerent. We said we did not contract for anything extra. He agreed to accept our check for $200 with a very unpleasant manner, as if he were being cheated. I was too upset by the whole thing to review it at the time.

"We made it clear in the contract to remove the area of the property. When the crew got there, the homeowner met with the crew and explained the job she wanted. The foreman told the homeowner that the project would get bigger due to her request. The original project was supposed to take 3-4 hours turned out to be whole day. The homeowner called and complained about the bill. They refused our offer to split the cost of the additional work they asked for. Then they also refused our offer for only paying for the cost of materials they requested. Please understand our frustration of the homeowners’ unwillingness to negotiate any part of additional work they requested. We wouldn’t have done additional work if the homeowner had not requested it."

The new path is very good looking, as are the new front steps made of limestone. The new path plus the new rain water drainage system must be working very well, since the basement has been completely dry since then, even after experiencing two major rain storms. I am very pleased with the outcome. I note that the company owner, Daniel, and his work crews were all very pleasant people to deal with. Good folks. I consider this project money well spent.

He did an outstanding job! He was honest and dependable. He came back after two years and fixed a small flaw that may not have even been their problem. There was no argument but he came right out and fixed it right away. I would highly recommend him to anyone and I would use him again.

I am extremely pleased with the service provided. The owner showed up to assess the project excatly when he was scheduled to do so. The estimate was provided within 24 hours of the meeting as promised. The crew that completed the work did so when scheduled and with great results. I couldn't be more pleased with how well Bello Giardino handled the entire process up to and including the gorgeous finished product! There was actually a miscommunication on part of what I wanted planted (my fault for not clearly explaining my needs) and they came out the next day to do the additional work. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone and am pleased we have contracted them for ongoing maintenance.

The experience with them was not good at all. I first gave them a good review, but since then I have cancelled their service. They initially did some things that were fantastic, and then I got a bill for a service that they never did. I called them, and they said it was paper stuck together, and they would get right out and do it. They did the fall service in the spring, and I called about that, and they said that they won't do it in the fall, and they showed up again in the fall to do it again. It was like they didn't know what they were doing. They charged $55 each time they came, and they were scheduled to come out 6 times over the course of the season.

But every time you complained and calling the office saying there was a problem, we didn’t bill you for the services you were not happy with. We did both Spring aeration and Fall aeration for you but only charged you for the Spring one (free for your Fall aeration which was the one you signed for). You signed up for the season-long Lawn care service from March to December. We only charged you one time for $55 for Grub Control in June which was in your contract and other lawn care services were all $40 for your lawn in June (free for you in your invoice) August. October and December. Total was 6 times. We appreciate your good words in the Angie’s list before. We did make a mistake that we aerated your property in spring instead of fall but we remedied it by doing it again in fall for free. Other than that we did what we agreed to in the contract. Thank you."

The power-washing was done two week previously. The technician arrived at the expected time and did a very good job in the time that had been estimate previously.
On June 18th, the crew of three men came at 9:00 and worked continually & very efficiently. The rebuilt patio looked even better than we had anticipated. Even though it was a 90 + degree day, they worked without breaks. We couldn't have asked for a better job.
Last year we had a new garage erected and needed to have our small backyard redone. Another landscaping company gave us an estimate which was way too much. We told Dan at Bello Giardino approximately how much we wanted to spend and our ideas for the plan. We were delighted when he discussed it with us and came up with the same idea at a reasonable price.
I would highly recommend Bello Giardino and look forward to any more work that we would have done in the future.
