Bartlett Tree Experts are exactly what their business name implies;  they are professional in every aspect of their work.   Prior to any tree removal, they arranged for utilities to visit the property and make any necessary markings.  They arrived as scheduled and placed signs along the street to warn drivers of tree work.  They placed a special protective mat on the lawn where any heavy equipment might have to drive.  They made sure that all workers were wearing appropriate safety equipment; helmets, goggles, etc.
All work was completed and the area was cleaned up in an efficient manner.  We have been using Bartlett Tree Experts for seven
years and highly recommend their services.

Removal of the vines was a difficult job.  The job took an additional day to complete the job.  They did a good job.

Came out at the scheduled time and gave me a written estimate. I signed the quote then and there and since they said I didn't have to be home, I said they could come out whenever it fit in their schedule. If I hadn't noticed the branches and one tree gone I would not have known they were there. No small branches or trash or anything was left in my yard. They did exactly what was in the quote

As always, it went perfectly well. They come in when they are supposed to come. They do the job correctly, and they clean up their mess after. They are very professional as well. The man that gives the estimates is an actual arborist, and he checks on each job to make sure his employees are doing a great work. Very fair prices.

They were lower in pricing than another estimate I received. After I received the estimate they were able to come back and do the service in a reasonable amount of time. They did a good job with cleaning up and the service in general.

The service turned out fine. They did the job quickly and cleaned up well after themselves. They have done a lot of work for us throughout the years.

All their work is very professional. Dan McCarthy, the contact person, has been in the business for many years and knows what's needed when it comes to landscape work.

Arrived on time, very efficient and professional, cleaned the area.   Even removed a branch from a 2nd black walnut that was rubbing the roof of the garage without charge.

They did the work quickly and competently, and they took away a mountain of debris.  I wish the job had been less expensive. However, cutting back the two or three low-hanging red maple tree limbs was not part of the original contract, and when I asked, they trimmed them off without any additional charge. Bartlett will do my tree work from now on.

I went with Bartlett tree service because of their highly rated reviews on Angie's list.  I called Barlett and wanted first to get estimate and I  wanted to be at home the day of the estimate . Dan did respond to my voice mail in timely fashion and quickly worked out a schedule to make sure I would be home the day of the estimate.  Dan estimate was very detailed and itemized which I appreciated from a tree service in knowing exactly what they were going to do and how much each item would cost.  The estimate was not the cheapest, but with my large trees on my property I decided to go with Barlett because they had the man power and large equipment, experience and knowledge to do the job that i wanted.  Their employees were very kind and considerate of my property and did a nice job in cleaning up afterwards.  To my surprise they also brought in their machine to grind up my stump the same day.

The crew of three men arrived on time and immediately set up street cones and "work ahead" signs on our street.   The foreman and I made a preliminary walk around our property going over each item on the work order. Each crew member was outfitted with all necessary safety equipment; helmets, safety glasses, ear protection, etc.  The company had contacted utilities in advance so that gas lines, etc. had already been marked. This crew worked diligently the entire day with only a short lunch break.   The foreman was especially skillful in working high up in the mature trees so that it was not necessary to drive the big "cherry picker" truck onto our property.  At the end of the day, all our pruned trees were free of dead, diseased and broken banches.  Each tree had an excellent appearance  and our home was free of  dangerous overhanging branches.

Quick, cleaned up afterwards - stump to be removed at a later date.  I have used Barlett for many years and they are always professional, prompt, courteous and knowledgeable.

We used Bartlett instead of our "usual" tree company as we have an acquaintance who works for them, and their estimate was several hundred dollars lower than the other company. The Arborist came to do the inspection/quote while were on vacation and left a detailed print out of what the job would entail and the cost for each piece. We called to give them the go ahead, and then I came home one day about a week later and the tree was gone! They'd cleaned up all the debris and did a really good job with making the area look like a tree hadn't just been there. We got a bill in the mail another week or so later. We will definitely be using Bartlett for our future needs.

On the morning he arrived, he explained that an air spade would blow the dirt away from the trees and warned me that it would kick dirt quite a distance.  I can only describe the air spade as a very directed leaf blower on steroids.  However, you could never have used a shovel or you would have damaged the roots.  He first uncovered the two trees in the front yard (one was what instigated the call to the arborist).  It was immediately clear to me how very tight the roots had wrapped around the less robust of the two trees.  It was a rude awakening.  There was an almost inch deep dent in the tree where one of the roots had wrapped so tightly around the trunk that it had forced the tree to grow around it.  As he worked I asked a lot of questions about exactly where the "root collar" began and how deep a tree or shrub should be planted (I never wanted the same problem again).  He was very knowledgeable and ansered every question patiently as he worked.  The worst tree in the front yard was buried almost 14" too deep.  The other one was only 3"-4" too deep.  It was obvious to me that the worst tree would need additional work the following year.  There was such a dramatic difference between the roots of the two trees, I have no doubt that if we had done nothing about it we would have lost a 25' tall tree to this problem (and soon).We moved to the back yard and he explained that all the roots running across the top of the soil were secondary roots and were also an indication that the trees were buried too deeply and probably girdled.  He used the air spade to clear the three trees in that bed.  He cut away all the secondary roots and it was immediately obvious to me that these trees were no where nearly as bad as the ones in the front.  He then moved on to my Magnolia tree which had a 10" split in the trunk from root girdling.  As he exposed the roots it was immediately clear to me (I was learning) that this tree would need additional work the following year.  When I commented on that, he confirmed it.  He finished the last two trees and we found one other tree that would need additional work the following year.  We obviously caught that one early as it did not appear to be failing or otherwise look unhealthy (until you looked at the roots). He cleaned up behind himself, tried to even out the soil as best he could and was even knowledgeable enough to know that I had originally bought Jones top soil for the beds to be built up.  I couldn't figure out how he would know one topsoil from the other 7 years later but he did.   I tried to pay him the quoted amount and he said that they would bill me later and send a complete report with the bill.  Although, I already knew what the report would say.  They would need to come back next spring and expose the roots on those three trees again and cut away additional girdling roots as the rest of the tree got stronger.  The day after the service, I received a call from Bartlett.  They asked me if I was satisfied with the work.  What could I say, this employee (with 15 years service with the company) was knowledgeable, tolorated and patiently answered every question I had and explained things so that very quickly I could see for myself which trees were in trouble and which trees would immediately be fine.  I assured the woman on the phone that I would call early next spring (as soon as the ground thawed) to catch them before business got very busy.  So I will get on this early next year and the three remaining trees will eventually regain their health and I will not lose any of my beloved and expensive landscaping.  I couldn't be happier with the results and the quality of service.  These people are incredibly knowledgeable and consumate professionals.

Anytime I need any sort of tree work done, I call them! They’ve been prompt, do a good job overall, and clean up. Daniel McCarthy, the technician that I deal with, is a certified arborist and he’s very knowledgeable with trees and shrubs.

Easily the best tree service of the 4 or 5 I've used during the 10+ years that I've lived in my current house.  Very professional, safe and reasonably priced.  Dan, the arborist, arrived slightly early for the initial appointment to do a free tree inspection.  After completing the inspection, he provided me with a printed (not handwritten) proposal detailing all of his recommendations.  The crew showed up on the day promised.  The trickiest part of the job was removing a fairly large, rotting tree near power lines and my neighbor's wood fence.  I was impressed with all the safety precautions the crew took to remove the tree.  They also did a nice job pruning other trees to remove dead and broken branches.  They thoroughly cleaned up all the debris, even debris they didn't create.  I never heard any yelling or swearing or saw any smoking.  (You don't want your kids at home when some of the other tree services are working at or near your house.)  I'm glad that I finally found a tree service that I can stick with.

They are very timely, they come out and do a yearly inspection for us and do a proposal so that we can decide what we would like to do for the year.  We have used them for 15 years.  They are highly professional and they know their business.

Great experience and I am thrilled with this company.  They are knowledgeable, did not try to sell me on all the work recommended.  Answered my emails when I questioned some of their recommendations after doing research on my own.  When I stated I did not want some of their proposal, that was fine with them.  I have not been home when the work was done, but they leave a card in the door that tells me they were here and I get an email within 24 hours with a report of the work completed and then a separate email stating I have an invoice pending on line.  I would highly recommend this company to anyone.  I look forward to working with them for many years to come.  I know I can email them at any time and they will get back to me quickly - even if it's just about a question that does not involve something they need to do.
