Anthony's Hardwood Floors

The job took longer than anticipated-the ceramic tile didn't come up as easily as anticipated and there were unforseen circumstances. After staining the floors, Larry insisted on resanding and staining because they weren't to his quality standards. After they were re-stained, I saw what he meant.  They are gorgeous. He kept in communication with me and worked around my schedule and juggling two dogs (with the rain and mud)

He views this as an art.

Price: Sought several quotes and while Larry was not the least expensive he kindly provided a discount to meet the best deal I received. Flexibility: I was specific about the job being was completed in 2 sections - over several weeks/weekends and Larry was the only company open to accommodate me and pets living in the house while the work was being completed. All other vendors mandated leaving which was impossible at the time. I appreciated Larry's flexibility. Work: Larry - and occasionally another person - did fantastic work! I could not have been more pleased and have received many compliments on the floors. His work is definitely a tribute to someone who has been doing this creative lost art for 30-40 years. He even returned for an extra day's work - without charge - because he want to rebuff several sections to ensure the stain dried correctly. Note: The company seems to be a 1-2 person job, so Larry was busy and at times, moving the job forward was occasionally difficult to schedule. I was willing to be flexible as hardwood floors are a craft and Larry indeed has it perfected! I would refer anyone to looking to refinish or lay new hardwoods to Larry without hesitation.

I called 6 different companies from the list. Larry was very prompt in returning my call and came out immediately to give me a written quote. He gave me the quote on the spot and was very friendly. Once I had collected all of the other quotes, Larry was one of the least expensive and seemed trustworthy, so I signed up with him. He and his partner arrived when they said they would, and worked carefully on my 200 year old flooring. The result was way better than my expectations!! I could not be happier with their work and plan on using them again for the rest of my home!!

It went VERY well. We waited for a bit for his "best finisher" to be available, but they were both super. The work was completed on time, and my floors look fabulous!

Larry Anthony and his assistant did a wonderful job with the wood floors in our Westerville Cape Cod home. He was prompt, courteous, and professional. He sanded the floors; took off the inferior polyurithane coat that was on it; and applied top quality polyurithane on it. I would highly recommend him to others and have already done so. We will have him come back and do the upstairs bedroom wood floors too.

We originally called Anthony's Floors to get a quote on refinishing the Living Room and Dining Room of our 1920 Clintonville home. We just removed carpet in the dining room, and the floors had some damage. Larry was honest that he couldn't refinish, our floors were too thin, and it would not fix our floors problems. He suggested new floors. We thought about it and decided to go with it. Work started on a Tuesday, and first the old floors came up. When that happened we noticed a few subfloor boards needed to be replaced and he did so. Work was slow at first, but they kicked into gear over the weekend. By the following Monday, the floors were done and just needed to air out. We were able to move back in by that Wednesday night. When we moved back the house was clean in those two rooms (the kitchen and basement got a lot of dust!) And the floors were gorgeous. Having new floors eliminated our squeaks and creaks, got rid of the sticking up nails, and our floors actually went all the way to the wall. I am very happy with his work. I do advise anyone who is doing this that it is a little difficult on a family. You have to move out all your furniture. You can't live in your house for a few days, and you have lots and lots of dust to clean up in adjoining rooms afterwords.

They have excellent service. Larry had to fix a job that had been incorrectly done. He had to scrape finish that had been 'gunked' on and redo it himself.

I would say the experience went very well. His services were good. There was a small delay after we paid him to do some additional work, but we worked that small problem out, and he finally came out and his work was quite good. His quite was competitive as well.

I had the flooring in one of my rooms and one closet re-finished by Anthony's Floors. His prices were reasonable, and the work he did was of good quality. However, when he was done finishing the floor, I noticed the color didn't match the rest of the flooring in my home.

First of all, Larry Anthony has proven himself as a class act. His estimate was very competitive based on the amount of work, and he also invited me to a current job-site where I could witness his work. He was very good at setting expectations when it came to the time it would take to complete the job and what the finished product would look like. I believe Larry's main strength comes from communication. Since I was out of town during the majority of the job, Larry contacted me almost daily with progress reports. This helped both my wife and me to enjoy the process and not be stressed. It seems all jobs have some sort of complication. For Larry, he had to let go one of his workers during the job. Instead of calling with a story on how the completion date would be pushed back, Larry ended up finishing the job himself. You don't expect that type of service all the time, and Larry is no spring chicken, lol. It looks better than we could have ever hoped for. Thanks Larry !!

Larry Anthony did a great job refinishing our second-level bedroom floors of our Westerville Cape Cod home. The floors look wonderful and he takes a lot of pride in his work. I would highly recommend Larry Anthony to anyone who wants the finest job done on their hardwood floors.

We knew we wanted our floors refinished, but we did not leave adequate time to have this done before our daughter's family moved in as we moved out. We were concerned especially about the effect of the lingering fumes on their young children. Larry came to the rescue and provided the service we needed in a time frame that even allowed the house to air out before the kids arrived. To accomplish this he and his helpers (Greg and George) worked crazy hours (one night 'til 2:30 a.m.). The final product looked great and we would not hesitate to hire Larry again. Besides all that, he gave us the best estimate we received.

This is the best $1,100 we have ever spent on our house. Larry came out to our house 2 weeks prior to provide us an estimate. He warned us that the pet stains may not come out but that he would do his best. Also, he agreed to fill in some holes in the floor that another Angie's List provider was not willing to do. The price was a bargain for the work performed. It was a 3 day job....floors were sanded & 1 coat of poly. was applied on 6/6, with a 2nd coating applied on 6/7 & 3rd & final coating on 6/8. My husband met Larry at our house at 8 a.m. on 6/9 to inspect the work & pay Larry. My husband and I are beyond satisfied. Our floors are absolutely gorgeous. On a scale of 1 - 10, I would give Larry an 11. My husband and I would highly recommend Larry to anyone needing their hardwood floors refinished.

Received estimate to refinish wood hardwood floor. We were subsequently informed that refinishing of the quarter-round molding around the perimeter of the floor was not included in the price. Consequently, we paid extra to refinish the molding, otherwise the color of the floor would not have matched. It seems to me that molding is a part of the floor and should have been covered by the estimate. Not refinishing the floor is like buying a suit with the color of the jacket being a different color from the pants!

Excellent work, I added additional area to original contract, very easy to work with Larry and Bill. It looks great, wife and my self very happy with Anthony's Floors.

He was outstanding!! He gave a great price, did it in a short amount of time. He fixed another contractors problems when installing the floor. He just did a great job!

Larry was on time and extremely cooperative in working around our schedule. Floors look great! I have used other floor refinishers on same floors and Larry is by far the best!

LARRY IS A GREAT PERSON TO DEAL WITH. MY HARDWOOD WAS NOT IN THE BEST CONDITION AND IT REQUIRED EXTRA SANDING. HE WAS ILL THE DAY HE SANDED THE FLOOR, BUT HE AND BOBBY WORKED ANYWAY. HE MADE THE FLOORS LOOK AS GOOD AS POSSIBLE CONSIDERING THEIR ORIGINAL (CURLED EDGES) CONDITION. HE CAN BE TRUSTED TO DO WHAT HE PROMISES.

LARRY WAS GREAT TO WORK WITH. HE DELIVERED THE WOOD THE SAME DAY WHEN WE DECIDED TO GO WITH A NEW FLOOR INSTEAD OF REFINISHING THE OLDER PINE FLOORS IN OUR HOME. THE GUY HE SUBS HIS INSTALLS OUT TO DID AN EXCELLENT JOB (LARRY DOES EVERYTHING ELSE). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - THE FLOOR TURNED OUT BEAUTIFUL.

LARRY OFFERED THE BEST PRICE OF THE THREE BIDS THAT I TOOK. HE WAS ABOUT 10% TO 20% BELOW THE OTHER TWO COMPANIES. HE WAS FLEXIBLE IN SCHEDULING THE WORK (ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS I HIRED HIM). HE OR HIS HELPERS WERE USUALLY AT WORK WHEN HE SAID THEY WOULD BE. THE JOB LOOKED FAIRLY GOOD WHEN THEY WERE FINISHED INITIALLY, BUT THERE WERE SOME FLAWS THAT CONCERNED ME AND LEFT ME LESS THAN FULLY SATISFIED. WHEN I CALLED HIM AND EXPRESSED CONCERN, LARRY VERY PROMPTLY RETURNED TO REVIEW THE PROBLEMS AND READILY AGREED THAT THE JOB NEEDED SOME REMEDIATION. HE WAS VERY POLITE, PROFESSIONAL, AND APOLOGETIC. LARRY, HIS SON, AND ONE ADDITIONAL HELPER PROMPTLY REWORKED SEVERAL AREAS OF THE FLOORS. WHEN THEY FINISHED THE FLOORS, THOUGH, THEY ARE JUST A LITTLE LESS THAN ABSOLUTELY PERFECT, THEY LOOK VERY NICE. I AM SATISFIED AND WOULD CONSIDER HIRING LARRY AGAIN, BUT AS USUAL, I WOULD ALSO CONSIDER A COUPLE OF OTHER COMPANIES ONCE AGAIN BEFORE MAKING A FINAL DECISION.

WE CALLED HIM FROM CALIFORNIA BEFORE WE MOVED TO OHIO AND CONTRACTED HIM TO DO THE WORK. WE GOT HIM A KEY AND HE DID ALL OF THE WORK WITHOUT US BEING IN TOWN. HE WOULDN'T EVEN LET US PAY FOR THE WORK UNTIL WE SAW IT AND WERE SATISFIED. THE FLOORS LOOK FABULOUS AND HE DID A GREAT JOB EVEN THOUGH WE WERE 3,000 MILES AWAY AND WOULDN'T BE SEEING THE HOUSE FOR WEEKS.

LARRY COMPLETED WORK ON TIME AND WAS GREAT TO WORK WITH. HE WAS ON TIME FOR THE QUOTE AND KEPT TO HIS WORD. WHEN WE BOUGHT THE HOME, THE 1ST FLOOR HAD 3 DIFFERENT COLORS OF WOOD - HE RECOMMENDED STRIPPING AND RESTAINING AND THEY LOOK BEAUTIFUL. AFTER HE QUOTED THE JOB WE FOUND OUT THE STAIRS (WHICH WE INTENDED TO REPLACE FULL CARPET WITH A RUNNER) WERE NOT FINISHED, HE WAS ABLE TO FINISH THE STIARS WITH NO PROBLEM. HE WORKED FULL DAYS TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT GIVING US 3 DAYS BEFORE WE HAD TO MOVE IN. THERE WAS BARELY ANY DUST UPON COMPLETION OF JOB AND CLEAN UP WAS EXCEPTIONAL. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

WE HAVE USED THEM BEFORE AND THEY ARE PHENOMENAL. THEY ARE VERY RESPONSIVE AND HIGHLY SKILLED.

EXCELLENT WORK AT A FAIR PRICE.
