About us
Our primary business is alterations. Our four large, bright fitting rooms are there for our customers to meet with and consult with our experienced staff regarding their clothing. With a staff of four seamstresses and tailors, are set up to provide pant hems “while you wait” and same day service for other alterations. We’re often asked if we do more than pant hems. Every day we work on formals, bridal gowns, skirts, jackets, leathers and many types of household items such as pillows, tablecloths and drapes (and OSU corn hole bags!) Our existing customers appreciate the fact that we are a one-stop shop for all alterations, mending and cleaning. Our high quality GreenEarth dry cleaning and shirts draw customers in as well. We also clean comforters, draperies, leather garments and bridal gown cleaning and preservation.

We were quoted a date everything would be ready. On that date, however, the comforter and quilt were not ready. We were moving an hour away, but had to go back to Alteration Station about a week later to pick up the items. The female who called to say it was ready said they would refund some of the cost. My son went to pick it up but they only gave him the comforter. And the owner refused to give us a refund. I had to call them about the quilt and they had to locate it. I asked them to send it because I did not want to have to drive an hour each way, just to pick it up. I also asked for an adjustment on the price, which was VERY expensive, for the trouble and gas the first time. They refused.
Very poor customer service and very irresponsible with my things.
Concerning their response on August 21, 2015:
The situation was not quite as he described and he did not even get the items right. We dropped off 2 comforters and a tux. He did not acknowledge that a female employee told me I would get a refund but he refused it. Nor did they communicate about the delay until my son went to pick things up, only to find that the tux was the only item ready. And while he makes it seem like he offered to drive it to us immediately, that came much later. Because I could not miss work to wait for a delivery, and they had already proved unreliable, I finally told him to send them to me.

"Like to start by saying interesting how things get twisted on any of these online review sites. I can tell you that us business owners are starting to get agitated in regards to the threat that people post in order to force things to go there way. I will post our side of the interaction and you be the judge. she had 3 items dropped off at our location. Shirt and 2 comforters. the shirt and comforters got done however the comforters did not pass inspection so we re-sent for extra care. ( what we should have done probably in this case is just gave her the comforters the way they got done the first time, and we would not be dealing with this) that being said she is right so they came to pick it up and just the shirt was ready. I know cause I was the one that told him now read this carefully, I offered to deliver them both in the morning and it was REFUSED. There is no disputing the fact that I told her son I would personally deliver the item and he said no that ok. I am sorry if I am willing to take 2 hours out of my way to deliver an item because yes it was a day late and only because we decided to hand her something that passed inspection I am guilty. We like to stand behind what we do sometimes things get cleaned on the first try sometimes it take 2 tries sometimes it wont come out at least we try to do it the second time with no extra charge. Again if I had not offered to deliver it she may have a point. we tried to take care of the customer and this is what we get, now you as the reader tell me should we not next time?"

l always used this shop for my alterations (which are many) and for the most part, have been pleased. The prices are high but the quality was ok and it was at a convenient location. The last time I was there, I took a suit that I needed for a conference out of town. I was told it would be done at a certain time (which was the night before I had to leave). I ask if they were sure it could be done b/c if not, I needed to take it somewhere else since it was important to be done on time. I was assured it would be completed in time. It was not done when I pick it up and more importantly, I was not notified it would not be done. No suit for my speaking engagement. Not happy. Additionally, several times I have had pants hemmed, the thread becomes undone and I have to go in to have it re-done. They always do the re-work at no charge, but it is very inconvenient to go back into the shop.

"(removed member name) is correct we did fall short on our promise to deliver. I understand as a business owner there is no accuse when something like this happen we lost a few people during the week because of illness. This still does not explain why she did not get a call back we are truly sorry and did finish the work and refund her for the cost. As far as the pants go blind hem is a hem that is very fragile due to the nature of the stitch. The needle barley catches the pants and that is why you do not see the stiches on the reverse side. We have found that on heaver and or thicker fabric pants this is more prevalent, knowing this we always re do the work free of charge. There is no way to guarantee that type of stitching for a more permanent stich if you do not mind seeing the line we recommend the stitched him. Thanks and again sorry for your bad experience."

"Thanks for the review even though it is a bad one. Would like to start off by saying we do over 200 pant hems in any given week and do them without any incident, and when they do occur we fix them properly. Mistakes do happen not saying we are perfect but we stand behind the quality of work. Also would like to mention that there is no Matt Greiling in our data base showing any work was done in our location. There is an Amanda however she has not visited us in over 6 months. The pants were not quite finished when we went to pick them up at the scheduled time. We had to wait an additional 40 minutes. However, the individuals working were very attentive to us and gave a small discount for the delay. The jeans fit perfectly now and the quality of work was excellent.

They hemmed trousers and skirts, and adjusted the fit of jackets and blouses. All work was carefully done. The rates sometimes seemed a bit pricy, but it's important to consider the detailed attention for measuring and marking the clothing. Then it is done on time to our satisfaction.

We would recommend them. They do good work and they correct any mistakes that they make. There is a bit of a communication problem because I can't understand the woman's accent very well, but I travel quite a distance to go there. They excel at what they do. They are punctual and they can even have it for you sooner if you pay extra.

I was referred by a retail store clerk who also gave me a $1 off coupon, which was used on each piece. I was OUTRAGED at the cost! The alterations were very well done. However, I checked with three other alteration establishments and found the price to be DOUBLE or TRIPLE what any of them would have charged! I have since found a new alterations person. Next time, forget the verbal referral and coupon, CHECK THE LIST!!!!

My experience with Alterations Station was excellent. I had purchased skorts from a clothing store. The blind hem in the skorts didn't hold because the original blind hem wasn't taken to the edge of the material. I contacted Alterations Stations and spoke with Max about the hems. He talked me through the process and helped me feel confident his company could do the work. Typically, there is a machine that could do the blind stitching (which would have decreased the price). Since the material was thick, though, the machine couldn't be used. Edel (seamstress) hand stitched the blind hem from where the original hem was in to the edge of the material and up the side. The thread matched the material perfectly. One color was very unusual, so I was surprised they could match it. The hand sewn blind hems in each of the skorts have held through weekly wearing and washing/drying.

All pairs fit perfectly! This company truly focuses on outstanding customer service and takes great pride in their work. The prices are slightly higher than others I've used, but I don't mind paying a bit extra for the quality of the work.

When I dropped off the items, Max was very helpful and the try on session went very quickly and efficiently until the last pair of pants and several other customers had come in. Max handled this as best he could as he was the only one in the store. As scheduled one week later I came in and tried on everything. The shirts were fine. The pants, however, all fit too loosely in the crotch and seat areas, while the waistline was okay. I showed Max and he somewhat hesitatingly, agreed to take in more material in the seat at no charge. I came back a week later and tried on the pants. He had taken in the seat but now the crotch hung several inches down and looked completely unacceptable, from front and back. I discussed with him and he said perhaps there was too much material to take the pants from a 36" waist to a 33" waistline. So now I have three completely ruined pair of dress slacks that aren't even any good to donate to charity. Max should have told me the risks up front.
