Description of Work: They installed our furnace and also maintain our HVAC system. They do a good job but there was situation that was not great but they did end up making everything right.

Description of Work: Our AC had a cracked evaporator drain pan causing water to leak on to the basement floor. The first company diagnosed the problem but said it was a warranty repair since unit was under 2 yrs old. We contacted Airtron as they installed the Goodman a/c in our home. We were quoted a $759.00 flat rate cost to repair. This seemed excessive to me for a warranty item (the value of warranties is another issue although not controlled by Airtron). I contacted the company as the technician provided no explanation for the charge. The warranty person explained that they charged a flat rate to cover all costs associated with this repair which included: shutting down the system, draining and recharging the system, their costs associated with a warranty repair including postage fees, and the difficulty and risky aspects of completing the repair. The technician was in our home for 1 1/2 hrs completing the repair as we watched. There was no draining and recharging of the system as he merely removed the evaporator coil with drain pain attached, replaced the drain pain, reinstalled and rechecked that system was working properly. I then spoke to Jeff Morrow (Manager)about the flat rate charge for services that were not even performed. He agreed to reimburse 10% ($114) that day. It then took 3 phone calls over the next week to get the credit. CAUTION TO ALL CONSUMERS: Watch out for this type of pricing. Their explanation of flat rate pricing was to protect the consumer from increased unforeseen costs. That scenario can work both ways so if you are the consumer who does not require all of those tasks then you end up paying more than you should. Most consumers are willing to pay a fair wage for a quality job but do not like to feel that they are being taken advantage of which is what we experienced with Airtron.

Description of Work: Needed a tune-up of a 19-year old A/C system. Was some initial confusion regarding the appointment time (done via their on-line system)...originally I did not get confirmation of the date/time I requested, but when Airtron realized their oversight, they sent somebody to my home promptly the next day. The technician (Charles) was very courteous and professional, and he did a tremendous job of explaining the system functions to me and options for now and in the future. I was impressed by him and how he represented his company, Airtron.

Description of Work: I have been an Airtron customer for over 20 years. About three or four years ago one of Airtron's representatives showed up on my door step about six hours late, no tools to work with, looked at my furnace for about two minutes and then came upstairs and said everything was fine.... I called the front office to complain that this technician did not have any tools with him, was extremely late, and only took two minutes to look at my furnace. The front office told me someone else would be out to look at my furnace which meant more scheduled time away from my office. Since that point in time, until about a year ago, there weren't any problems, I had a favorite technician that was very thorough, but he was promoted to a different part of the company. I was sold a new furnace last year by another company that was two thousand dollars cheaper, but I still wanted Airtron to do the service work. I contacted Airtron and explained that I had a new furnace, and a humidifier was added to my system. It was explained that filters would be an additional charge. I have had written contracts with this company for twenty years. Last fall when I had my furnace tuned up for winter, I was told that the filter for my humidifier did not need changed. My service contract is in place until May of 2013. When I called Airtron this morning to see if I could have a technician come out to check my humidifier filter because it is looking gunky, and I was experiencing moisture on my windows, I was told that I would have to pay an additional $75.00 service fee on top of the $50.00 filter fee..... nothing was ever said to me until this morning that humidifiers are not included with my furnace service contract. They have been servicing my humidifier for two years, and now that I have an issue to change the filter (the service tech probably purposefully told me not to change it when he was at my house this past Oct.) I'm having to pay an additional service call fee? I thought that is why I have the service contract in place and paid $174.00 up front for both furnace and air conditioning tune ups. I'm really disugusted. Apparently there must be new management in charge and they are going to ruin what a good reputation they used to have.

Description of Work: Our 16 year old air conditioner finally died on 7/30/12. I called Airtron with whom I have been using to service my furnace and AC for many years. A technician arrived that afternoon and informed me that the unit needed replacing. I knew this was coming as many of my neighbors are having to replace their units. The installers, David and James, came early on 8/1/12 and had both the new furnace and AC installed and running by that evening. David and James were highly professional and explained everything about the new system. As I have dealt with Airtron for many years it was once again a positive experience. Hats off to Airtron and especially David and James for a job well done.
