My experience was positive. A Hometown Appliance Service called ahead. They were professional and punctual. During their visit they went out of their way to be kind and helpful.

"Joe" was able to come out same-day to give me a quote. As we walked from the front door to my machine I explained the error message. When he got to the machine, he put one hand inside the front loading tub, lifted it slightly and said, "Well, I know exactly what it is and the repair is relatively cost prohibitive. It will be $530. Your (something--or-other) is shot. Happens a lot on these machines. A lot of people just get new ones..." I shared that I thought that a new one might be closer to $900 or so, so even though the price was high, I was still probably saving some money. "Oh. Well, there's also the chance that we could open it up and find out that your (something-else-or-other) is bad, so we'd have to charge you for that. But... if you'd rather not do that we can just charge you $90 for opening it up and cancel at that point." I agreed, not happy with how much I was going to need to pay, but pleased that it would be taken care of relatively quickly (two days later). Two days later the appointment was cancelled do to a health issue for Joe. He was very apologetic (he was talking to me while the "squad was on their way"!) He gave me a number for a different shop and I wished him the best of luck. That's NOT the reason for my scores. The service that I DID end up using did a thorough check of my machine and realized that it was something COMPLETELY different that had been suggested, and that what I was told needed to be replaced was actually in very good condition. The real culprit was the motor that powers whatever removes the water from the machine, which ended up being a $280 charge (half as much). I am not claiming that I was lied to in any way. Joe used the information that was given him and a quick check of my machine to make a decision. Had he actually taken the time that my other service did, he would have been able to better/more accurately found the problem. I don't know if he would have completed the repair he THOUGHT was the issue and then found out he was incorrect, but either way, it left a bad taste in my mouth. I will say that the service technician that I did use said very nice things about Joe, and he (Joe) was very polite to me in all conversations. I just wish he had been a little more thorough.

Excellent same day service. Joe and Holly arrived on time and went right to work. Joe found another bad part inside (more then the one belt suspected) and suggested a pulley replacement. It was my call. They were very courteous and efficient in their work. All in all good people, the kind you can trust to do a fair days work for a fair pay. I called him at noon and he was at my door at 6:00 PM. Took about 1 hour to complete. I would gladly recommend them to others. Even gave us a senior discount without my asking. That's service.

He came to fix it, but we were still having problems and he came back and fixed it because of a faulty part. It still had some issues because of faulty parts, so he came back and fixed it and didn't even charge me for the part. The price was reasonable and was always prompt. He fixed it right. I would use him again.

I thought the price was high. For the service and the outcome of the service, I'd give them an A but for the cost, I'd give them probably a C. I would probably shop also to see if I could find a better one.

I called to see how soon we could get the refrigerator repaired and was told he'd be out the following Tuesday. It wasn't an emergency, and no one is in the office on the week-end, so we scheduled it. We used a chair to keep the door securely closed. Joe came in to check the refrigerator and told me what the problem was and that he needed to order a part. When the part was in he called to let me know he'd return on November 10 and showed up on time to make the repair. We were very pleased with the service. Joe did a great job. We'd recommend A Hometown Appliance Service to anyone. Thank you Joe!!

It went very good,Everyone is professional and very friendly ,very fast service ,I even had some light bulbs on the ceiling that had not been replaced for a long time because I am unable to climb on ladders! Mike asked me if I would like him to put them in while he was there and he did it with out me asking him to,would not hesitate to call this company again!
