A Brick Above Chimney Sweeps

The owner of the company is the one who performed the work for us. He was very responsive to his phone and was able to get us an appointment the next day after calling. He arrived before the scheduled time and was extremely personable. He was careful not to get anything dirty during his work and he explained what he was doing each step of the way. After the chimney was cleaned, he ran a camera up through it. The camera was black & white and did seem to have some problems. It kept going out and he had to keep fiddling with it to get the picture to come back up. Even with this, I would say he did an excellent job and made us feel very safe about the condition of the chimney. In the report, he recommended that we re-point the mortar on the outside of the chimney. He said that he could do the work and would get us a quote within 24 hours. This was important to us since we were in remediation negotiations for the house and needed the quote for this. The next evening, I still had not heard from him so I called him to get a status. He told me that he had not had a chance to get the quote written up, but he would as soon as possible. That was weeks ago and I never heard from him again. He really did do a good job with the inspection, but because of the lack of follow through, I do not think I will be using him again.
