Asbestos Hazard Control

Rich was very flexible and understanding when I had to push my appointment time back. He also gave great professional advice and took the samples for me efficiently. I would definitely recommend this company!

It went very well. I needed to have a hot water heater in the crawl space replaced and it turned out asbestos was a hazard. At very short notice, AHC sent a crew to remove part of it and seal the rest. Nicely done.

We discussed various ideas for abatement of musty smell from basement. We tried the air scrubbing for 2 weeks. He did not charge us for this.

It was pretty painless, and they were on time. They had a timely report and said what my level was, and made recommendations. I had a good experience with them, I had no complaints. Don came our to the house and gave a fair and accurate quote for the service they would be able to provide. On the scheduled day the team arrived on time, finished the work earlier than expected, layed down paper througout the house to prevent any additional mess, described the work they would be doing, and after completion of the job explained the work that was completed. They were very conscience about ensuring we were satisfied with the work completed and provided follow up communication to ensure we did not have any additional questions. After they completed the work, and I had something unrelated to that, and I had a bad odour, so Icalled them, and the owner of the company came out. It had nothing to do what they had just done. He worked with me to try and find the source of the odour, and how to resolve it. He was excellent. This was after the work was completed, and I had paid for the work done. There were no surprises, the work was done on time, they were on time, and the mold is all gone.

I contacted Rich Kinney of AHC and he was very prompt in responding to our call.  A home inspector had discovered some mold in my mother's basement and so we needed someone right away to correct the problem as the house was in contract.  Rich came out to the house to see what needed to be done.  He was very understanding that we needed someone to do the job quickly and for a reasonable cost!  The best part was - Rich not only scheduled the work quickly - he turned out to be less than half the cost of the other company we had contacted.  Understandably, the buyers were very concerned about the mold situation, and Rich actually conferred with the buyer and showed him what had been done to fix the problem.....a real life saver!  I would definitely recommend AHC Environmental if you have any type of mold problem in your house.  He is very professional, prompt, good price and a gentleman.

When I first called the company, I spoke with Rich Kenny, who was very helpful and he agree to meet with me the following day. He even gave me a call right before he came to let me know that he would be there. The next day after our meeting, I received his estimate. I gave them the go ahead, and they immediately submitted the required 10 day notification to the state health department. They arrived on site as promised and did a good job. They were neat and very thorough. They also worked along with my heating and cooling contractor in coordinating the job and making sure things went smoothly.

This work was done in advance of a HVAC system replacement.  Work was as described and accomplished quickly.  It was also done much more simply than I expected - the top of the plenum was cut off with shears and removed.  Done.  This also left the furnace completely unserviceable, but this was expected and I had scheduled the HVAC guys right on their heels to reduce the time with heating or cooling (the temp during that time of year made this a moot point).  AHC also applied tape over the duct taping in the vicinity of the furnace plenum in the area that was likely to be disturbed when the new furnace went in.

Rich Kenney was very accommodating with respect to our busy schedule. Rich was extremely friendly and professional. Rich evaluated our ductwork thoroughly and confirmed that it was indeed probably asbestos, but that it was all in excellent condition and there was no need for remediation. He recommended that I do nothing, or at most use a spray adhesive and duct tape to encapsulate the existing tape. I fully anticipated paying Rich/AHC for the evaluation and advice, but Rich said no charge, just pass his name along if anyone I know needs him! What a pleasant surprise. To summarize, if you have any asbestos questions or issues, Rich Kenney and AHC are the way to go. It appears they do mold work as well, and I'm sure they are top notch at that, as well.

They were in hazmat outfits and they chipped it off in big chunks. They wet it down and cleaned the boiler off with a sander like a dental instrument and made it smooth. Then they shipped it off so there were no particles in the air. It was like a new original metal boiler without the asbestos. It was weird watching them because they cocoon the thing and test the air around the boiler. They can't leave until the air is clear so they keep testing it. When it is clear they take the cocoon down. It is not hard to chip it off. The guy I talked to said that you would have to work around asbestos for 35 years with no protection to have any problems. It said that it is very overrated.

Rich was very prompt in returning our calls and showing up to do the work. The survey was extremely thorough and the communication was very quick. Rich sent all documents to us via email and simply billed us for the work that had been done. I would highly recommend this company for anyone in need of an asbestos survey.

He was very responsive and accommodated my busy schedule. He is definitely an expert and his many years experience shows. Very professional and just took care of my concerns. He simply wanted to help and making a sale never came up. I strongly recommend Rich for any of your environmental needs. He is at the top of my list.

We found a different solution to the problem.

They arrived on time and with all the equipment needed. They covered the door at the top of the stairs, out of the basement, with plastic and duct tape to seal off the rest of the house. They also used a revererse blower to keep the air flowing to the outside door. They removed the 3 sections of asbestos covered pipes. They cleaned up and removed all of the debris. They were very professional, seemed very knowledgeable, and made me feel at ease with this situation.

I can’t say anything bad about them. They were absolutely perfect in every area, including price. They were very helpful in testing any materials I thought had asbestos. They were very timely and came right out! They performed this work on a Friday and gave me the answer on Monday. They also gave us advice on what to do. I would hire them again.
