Do not trust the expertise of the business owner, Jeff Cooper. He was recommended from Best Laminate to install vinyl flooring on our concrete slab built condo. Best Laminate had plastic barrier on our order and Jeff advised us to cancel the vapor barrier because we did not need it - stating he never uses it on concrete. After about 8 months, we noticed the planks were lifting. We called Jeff out to determine what was going on. He and his installer, Joe, both implied we have a water drainage problem somewhere and we should get experts to determine why our slab was presenting moisture. The back of our CoreTec planks were moist and mildew was present. Following Jeff’s advice, two expert foundation companies said we have no water drainage issues and slabs normally breathe moisture through them - we simply needed a vapor barrier. We also spoke to flooring experts, the CoreTec manufacturer itself and an architect. They all, without exception, stated you must place a vapor barrier on slabbed concrete. Also, our neighbors told us they had plastic between their vinyl flooring and concrete slab. As a result of this, we had to get our total floor removed and reinstalled correctly. Jeff’s position was that if you put plastic down as a vapor barrier, the concrete will crumble!! We sent a certified letter to River Floors to try to resolve this matter amicably and heard nothing back. I tried to reach out to him with no response. Therefore, DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS! There are other floor companies who know exactly how to properly install flooring - River Floors is NOT one of them.

A year and a half later, and we still have no floors. River floors won’t reply to any of our communication.

We have been waiting for our flooring for over a year. River floors says they have our flooring in their warehouse, but will not return our phone calls as to the location of this warehouse or delivery. We have offered via voicemail and text messages to pick it up ourselves. They only reply we get is “we are busy, we don’t have time” Please do not give this company your time and money.

My contractor used River Floors to install our bathroom floor and shower tile. The day after the job was complete I expressed my dissatisfaction with the tile in the shower. Grout lines are sloppy, uneven, and the color is inconsistent throughout the entire shower. The floor was a completely different story. Lines were clean and color even. Jeff came out to my home on August 5th, along with my contractor, to look at the job. He admitted it was inconsistent, took pictures, and said he would be in touch within a few days. When I didn’t hear anything, I left him two voicemails asking for any kind of update. When I got no call back, I sent an email. He still didn’t respond. Today, 3 weeks later, I finally heard from my contractor. He said Jeff feels the job is within “industry standard tolerances”. Several other sub-contractors, including those who did our kitchen tile, disagree. They encouraged us to try to work with River Floors to make it right. It’s too bad Jeff doesn’t seem to care about the quality of their work or their reputation. What should have been the best part of our bathroom renovation has ended up being a huge disappointment. If you want quality work done by people who stand behind their skills, try Superior Flooring and Tile. They did our kitchen and it looks beautiful.

The installation started January 26, 2016 was supposed to take 3 to 4 days.  As the installers completed bathroom and started foyer, I questioned them on the grout color in foyer because it was white and I ordered Driftwood (medium brown)  They told me it was the right color and continued installing the kitchen. On day two, when they arrived, I had located my grout chart and told them again the grout was not the correct color.  They then went to their van and produced a pail of Driftwood from their last job and realized there was a problem.  There was a manufacturer defect in which no pigment had been added to the grout.  All of the floors then had to be removed and the job started over.  At this point, they pulled up the sub floor in kitchen and in carelessly hammering  the nails into the floor, damaged my wood baseboard in several places.  The sub floors in the bathroom and foyer were not removed, they just heated the tile and removed it and reinstalled new tile with the correct grout   A this point, the job was going to take more than 3 to 4 days and I asked that they work on Tuesday and Thursday the next week.  They said due to other jobs starting Monday, they could not do that and wanted to work the weekend; all day Saturday and Sunday.  I cancelled all my plans for the weekend and let them finish.  When they left on Sunday evening, the toilet they installed was leaking into the basement, the dishwasher was not secured nor operable, the laundry sink was clogged with grout from dumping their water in there instead of outside, there was grout and adhesive on door handles, walls, handrails. I left a voicemail at the store and when the owner, Harry, returned my call on Monday, he said none of this was true as he had a different story from his installers and he believed them not me.  At this point, I requested they cancel the carpeting I was to have installed the next day. I had put 50% down on that flooring as well.  I called my credit card company to file a dispute to get my deposit back.  The owners refused to refund my deposit because the $1,977 was approximately what was due on the vinyl tile.  My credit card company understood the situation and pulled my deposit back from River Floors.   Within a few days of the kitchen floor completion on January 31st, a tile had lifted in front of the dishwasher and in front of the sink and many cracks were present in the grout.  To make a long story short, in the end, the installers were at my house January 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31, February 4, March 22, March 29, April 22 and April 29th to repair and correct the many problems.  When it came time to pay balance due on floor, the owners billed me $2,560.50 representing full price on Luxury Vinyl Tile install as well as $424.50 for restocking fee on carpet.  I let the owner know that I expected to be compensated for all of the inconvenience they put me through as well as a very unprofessional installation.   In the end, we could not agree on an amount and I paid $150 less than what they wanted and Jeff sent me text messages degrading my character and threats to report to the credit bureau the full original balance as unpaid as well as not honoring the warranty on my floor because I would not pay the last $150.
I paid for a floor to be professionally installed however none of the directions that were included with the tile were followed. The vinyl tile was not acclimated to my home for 48 hours prior to installation; it was installed within two hours of bringing it into the house (in the winter); it was not cured for 24-48 hours before grouting; it was grouted immediately after being put down; it was supposed to be rolled with minimum 100-lb roller after installation and no rolling was done.  I have ongoing concerns that there will be problems down the road with this floor after the poor installation and was very dissatisfied with the "inconvenience credit" of only $336. However, I felt compelled to pay because I did not want my outstanding credit score negatively affected and I needed to stop the harassing text messages from the owner.

Jeff Cooper was very personable, yet professional.  When I contacted him after getting his name from Angie's List, he came right out and had an estimate for me later that day.
His guys did the work quickly and efficiently.
I will definitely call Jeff at River Floors for any future flooring needs!

From the very start of scheduling the in-home call through the entire install process, we were met with the utmost professionalism throughout the process.  There were NO pushy sales people trying to upsell; they even itemized every price and level of work needed to be done so we could choose whether or not we wanted to rip out the old carpet and flooring and how much that would save us.

Their quality of products, selection, flexibility was second to none and we could be happier.  We?ve dealt with many flooring companies over the years and have to say, River Flooring has a customer for life.

Thank you Harry, Jeff, Marty, and  Jason ? AWESOME experience and the floor looks incredible.

I am so glad we went with this company. Talk about professional. We had received quotes from two other companies but the level of detail was so much more with River Flooring. It started with the gentlemen who came to my home to measure and ended with the installation and everything in between.
All their employees are "in house", they do not subcontract, which was important to us. I could not have been happier with the care they took with my home while doing their work. They showed up exactly when they said they would every day and the actual installation was perfect. Their price was very competitive with the other companies we checked. The whole experience was very good. I would hire this company again in a second!

This is the second time we have worked with Harry and River Floors.
When we needed flooring for the basement, we did not hesitate to call Harry and get them on the job!
Harry is great to work with, professional, trustworthy, honest and just plain nice. The installers were also great to have in our home. They really cared about the final product and our experience as a whole. Even our contractors made the comment that the flooring guys were really nice.
We are having them back this summer to replace carpet in another part of the house.

The tile is beautiful and I'm very happy about the work. They did it great, they took them all good week 10 days to do it. I'm not happy with the long wait. I showed three guys got some of the wrong tile but I'm not saying anything because I'm not sure. But you know, so I'm happy with their work. I would use them again in the future.

Excellent workmanship with a lot of detail. Workers were prompt every morning and owners of company made several unannounced inspections. Work took 6 days because I wanted the original vinyl material completely removed. This took about 1 and 1/2 days. Very neat clean job was done by River Floors. I dealt with Harry, one of the owners, he was not the installer.

Fantastic. The store is a good size and is handicap accessible which is important for me.
We'd been looking for flooring for 2 bathrooms and 1 utility room for several years, River Floors was the Best.
RIVER FLOORS is wonderful. All the flooring has explanations on the samples. Harry was our salesman, he's great with explanations and pricing . We weren't sure about tile because of the grout on porcelain tile that gets so dirty. Harry said the new grout doesn't get dirty. Also the Amstrong Alterna Vinyl tile grout won't get dirty. The tiles were ordered and took only 5 days to come to the store and were installed the next week by Marty, he's an excellent installer, also careful and clean. Both tiles in our house look wonderful. We highly recommend them.
