This was the worst household project that I have experienced in 20 years of home ownership. After receiving five estimates, I made the decision to go with what I expected to be the nicest solution - even though it was the most expensive of all estimates - Concrete Crafts Farmhouse Collection ($5,100). From Concrete Craft, I also considered their Trustain finish ($4,900). At the time Jack visited my house to provide the quote the entire area that was to be finished was completely empty other than a couple empty wire shelves. The entire basement floor was exposed, allowing him to see the entire condition of the floor prior to providing the estimate. Job Quality: Upon completion, the appearance of the floor was nothing like the photos in the brochure, and when I asked Jack to come out to inspect, his statement on seeing the floor was: This is definitely not A work. The floor had many trowel lines and ridges from where the crew failed to smooth out the coatings that they applied. The stain had been brushed on with harsh stain lines across multiple of the simulated boards for the farmhouse finish. Seeing, and agreeing that the job was low-quality, Jack provided 3 options: 1- Call the job complete at 50% cost; 2- Try to apply more stain to fix the color issues, leaving the trowel lines and ridges; 3- Completely redo the project. Since the finish was horrible - I decided to make them redo the project - but left it at Jack discretion to decide which finish would end up with the best result, and requested that he inspect at each step in the process. During the initial effort, Jack had never been on the site. He made the determination to go with the Trustain finish instead. The original project was completed on 11/3/23. They did not start the redo until the week of 12/11/2023. On the second attempt, the final product is better, not great, not horrible - just okay. Jack did come to the jobsite once, but did not inspect after each stage of the process. For the cost, I regret going with Concrete Craft. NxxxxxSxxxx was the same price and, I expect, would have been better. There are still inconsistencies in the finish that can only be explained by inconsistencies in the way the product is applied. On completion, Jack sent me the final invoice for the original $5,100. This was not the product that I received and when I asked for him to lower the cost to the $4,900 Trustain finish amount, he became irritated and resisted - wanting to charge me for something I did not get. In the end, he relented and I paid the correct amount for the floor I received. Cleanliness: On the first attempt, before they started the job, I moved everything from the work area into the other half of my basement. When the crew arrived, they put plastic up on all of the walls in the work area and placed a plastic zipper door up to protect the stairwell. Despite telling me that they were going to, they DID NOT put any plastic up to reduce dust going into the other half of my basement. As a result, everything stored in my basement in the non-work area was coated in cement dust, damaging a dehumidifier and requiring a thorough cleaning of everything. On the second attempt, I made a point to ensure that they put plastic up to protect the non-work area, but this time they did not put plastic up on the walls in the work area. With the failure of putting plastic up on the walls, they over-sprayed the stain, and now I have to repaint my basement walls. Professionalism: After paying the 50% deposit, I received an email stating that my project was to begin on approximately 10/16 On 10/13 I had not heard anything further. I had to reach out to ask Are you starting my job on Monday? I was not proactively contacted with the schedule. During the job, the crew would leave, with no notification - I would have to guess if they were gone for the day or just departed for a break. Do not hire this company.
