Berts Tree Service was started in 2004 with a chainsaw and a pickup truck; trying to gather up enough firewood to heat our house in order to save some money on the gas bill. Since then, Berts Tree Service has evolved into a full-time tree service with all of the equipment needed to professionally handle the toughest jobs. Although Berts Tree Service is a young company, we aim to please. We are building our reputation not relying on it. There is no job too big or too small for Berts Tree Service. Specializing in large tree removals, we have multiple ways to get the job done involving aerial crane and bucket truck work, or an experienced climber for tight spots. Our chip truck can hold up to 20 yards of wood chips and our chipper can handle up to a 15" thick log all the way down to the smallest of backyard shrub removals. The stump grinder we use fits through a standard 36" wide fence gate. Our diesel powered stump grinder is powerful enough to grind the biggest of stumps yet light enough to dive on any lawn and not make ruts. ****Stump grinding can be hauled away for an additional fee**** We also have seasoned firewood cut, split and ready to burn. This is available through being picked up at our yard, or for a small fee we can deliver the wood right to your home. Additional DBA - Bert's Tree Service & Stump Grinding. One week later Dan called me and let me know that he had had a cancellation and could come out the next day. A crew of about five guys showed up right on time that morning (a bit early, even) and immediately started planning for exactly how to proceed. The removal itself went great - they were completely finished with both trees in about three hours. They laid down plates for the trucks in the yard so as to not damage the ground. They had no problem dealing with the various power/cable/phone lines near the trees. They kept the noise level down as much as they could, turning off their machinery whenever they weren't actively using it. They cleaned up fully after themselves - except for the absence of the trees, I never would have known they were there.
Dan was also very accommodating in arranging for payment. Since I was at work at the time they finished up, Dan came back to my house after I got home from work to settle up. Overall, an excellent, professional job.
This company is terrific. Dan provided a quote for the removal of the Honey Locust trees and within a week his crew arrived to take the trees down. Before the crew began their work, I inquired whether the crew could include a Maple tree and they informed me to contact Dan. I called Dan and he came by and quoted a price and indicated the crew probably couldn't get all three trees down the same day but they could come back the following day to finish the job, which was fine.
The crew worked all day and had both Honey Locust trees down and all the branches and debris cleared. The crew returned the following day and removed the Maple tree, which came down super fast. The crew brought a crane which lifted the trunk onto the bed of a truck and the Maple was hauled away. They weren't able to do this with the Honey Locust trees because they were located too close to each other.
Once the Maple was down, the stumps for all the trees were ground out. I was really impressed with how the stumps were being ground out. Mike didn't just grind where the stumps were located, he followed the main roots of each tree and ground the roots as well. Very impressive.
We also needed a tree stumped removed from a tree that was taken down by another tree service last year. I won't name that tree service but they were supposed to come back and remove the stump and they didn't. Bert's Tree Service removed that stump for us.
Once all the stumps were removed, the crew cleaned up the chips and the grindings and leveled the ground where all the stumps were located. All in all, we cannot praise Bert's Tree Service enough for the work performed. We certainly would use them again. Dan and his crew are great, professional and very good and what they do!
Because of the wet condition of the yard this particular job had to be very difficult, yet the work was completed quickly, thoroughly and in a very professional manner. The workers were very pleasant as well as the foreman. The service was above and beyond what was promised.
Next time I need this service I have no need to shop - I will just call Bert's -- great job!Licensing
