Dream Decks LBC Construction

I waited until now to write a review hoping this firm would come through on promises made last fall to come back this season and fix problems. Once again no follow through. Shoddy workmanship and materials have let us to be very disappointed in their work. They do get an A for making apologizes but they deserve a F and I would warn potential customers to avoid Dream Decks at all costs. In fact this company should consider renaming itself Nightmare Decks. WA Meyer

Project went great. Dream Decks rep Eddie was excellent in estimating, organizing and guiding the project. I had a time window, and they were VERY accommodating in squeezing me in on short notice and completing the project. Deckbuilder Terry was superb in his attention to detail. We had challenging corners and downspouts to go around, and these challenges came out perfect. Very pleased with the new decking. Looks Great !!!

Love the gazebo. Turned out better than I anticipated. Looks like it was always there !! Very professional and showed up when they said they would. Everything was done very quickly and the crew they use is very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend...

Highly recommend! Dream Decks is a professional company and their work is top notch. They gave us a competitive quote and promised the work would be done in a week. The entire process took 2 1/2 days! They are a team of professional hard working members. They know what they are doing and work great together. We love our deck and just wished we had done this sooner! You will not be disappointed!

The crew was friendly, courteous and professional. We expressed concern about a minor detail and they addressed it immediately without hesitation. They cleaned up everything and our porches look great. We definitely recommend Dream Decks for any project.

Early this year I noticed that the rails on our 2 year old deck were beginning to sag in the middle. I contacted Dream Decks, in early June, and asked if they would be able to add center supports for this problem. I indicated that I would be happy to wait for a break in their schedule, but would like to have it done before we got too far into the summer entertaining season. I was asked to send photos of the problem, which I did immediately. Dream Decks has not contacted me in the 6 months since I sent the photos. I followed up twice but received no response from them. Although initially happy with our experience with this company, we are now realizing the quality of work is not holding up nor is their customer service. If you want a quality, long lasting deck that your contractor stands behind, then DON'T HIRE DREAM DECKS.

Dream Deck’s installed a new deck around our pool.   They are very professional in their business.  The installers were very courteous, efficient and good mechanics.   After working in the construction business for 43 years, you can associate good craftsmanship from the not so good.  They finished the deck in 4 days and could not be happier with the installation.   

The entire process went very well. ?They provided the service on time and in a very professional manner. ?We were exceptionally pleased with the design of the new deck. ?The designer took the time and had the vision to go "out of the box" with the design and quite honestly - of the four contractors we contacted - it was the imaginative design that attracted us to Dream Decks. ?We had already done our research and knew they did quality work. ?We are very pleased.

Dream Decks was one of several contractors we received estimates from. From first impression, Andy was easy and friendly to deal with. He took the time to educate us on material choices. He was patient and accommodating to our ever-changing minds. In fact, he sat with us on more than one occasion listening to our needs and wants for the deck. We changed our minds several times and we never felt like he was annoyed by it. Our elevation posed some issues in regards to our deck. Andy came up with several deck designs that would work for us. Andy recommended color choices for the deck that we never would have thought of or chosen by ourselves and we are so glad we went with his recommendations. 

Our elevation posed some unique issues. His use of a 3D computer imaging program really helped us see what the completed project would look like and helped us to make choices on how to proceed.

Luke and his crew  were all hard-working and professional. They worked steadily and were a pleasure to have around. They cleaned up the area completely upon completion of project. 

In the end, we feel we have an amazing custom deck that we love and really adds character to our home. These guys take pride and ownership in their business, their work, and their finished products. I would highly recommend them.

Working with Dream Deck's couldn't have gone more smoothly. They were one of several contractors I had provide me a quote for a new deck. They were the   ONLY contractor to sit down with my wife and I, listen to our wants, and provide a beautiful design during the FIRST meeting we had with them. Andy did an amazing job taking our ideas and putting them into his computer and providing us a visual of the finished product, all from our kitchen table.
After our first meeting with Dream Deck's we knew immediately we wanted to use them. However, both my wife and I can be indecisive when it comes to making big purchases and this project was no different. We reached out to Andy on several occasions regarding changes to the design and at no point did we get the impression he was irritated with us. He actually came back out to our house and provided new designs based off of the changes we provided to him. At the end, we agreed to the original design and again we never felt like Andy was irritated with us. We signed the contract and scheduled that same day.
Construction actually started early which was not a problem for my wife and I. We handled getting the permit (Dream Deck's will do it for you if you don't feel like dealing with the hassle), and Dream Deck's took care of everything else. Luke & his team tore down and hauled away my old deck in 1 day and completed the construction of the new deck in 4 days. Luke & his crew were very professional and happy to answer any questions we had throughout the entire process. 
We can't say enough about the construction of the deck. Everything was done to code, in some cases even better. The design is even more beautiful than was shown to us in our first meeting. Top quality materials were used throughout. My wife and finally feel like we have a usable space on the back of our house and can't wait until next summer to take advantage of the new addition. 
If you are shopping for a new deck, we highly recommend taking a look at Dream Decks. Their professionalism and quality of work stands above their competitors!

We started negotiating with Andy Henley (co-owner of Dream Decks) in May, before we even moved in to our new home. Once we choose our design, which Andy helped us with (using state of the art computed-aided graphics) we agreed a price and approximate timescale for the build. Andy's partner, Luke and his crew arrived at the agreed date and built the deck in the agreed time (about 4 days) with only about a half a day lost through rain.

The deck looks great. It is well built, it is study and has finally given us rear access to the house and a focal point for the rear of the property.

Dream Decks are a very professional organization and I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them.

It went perfect.  Andy and Luke were great to work with.  They kept us up to date throughout the process and it was excellent.  I would recommend them to anybody.

They were amazing. Very professional courteous, knowledgeable and hardworking. They worked in extreme heat, rain and on the holiday. The decks turned out better than we imagined. We would recommend them to anyone.

I highly recommend the Dream Decks team.  Andrew was very patient as he worked with us to design a new deck constructed with Trex.  The work is absolutely first class.   Luke's carpentry is very well done--it looks perfect!  The workers were polite and left the area cleaner than they found it. We decided at the last minute to add lighting, and they were happy to accommodate the change.  They take a lot of pride in their work and really care that their customer is happy.  We are beyond thrilled with our new deck!

Selection/Design

I found Dream Decks the Cleveland Home and Garden Show.  Andy, the salesperson answered all my questions at the show and explained the companies background.  I provided them my contact information.   I waited about 2 weeks and did not get a call.  I ended up calling them.   They explained that they had back to back shows and were behind in contacting the show contacts.   This was about the only slightly negative I had in this experience.

Andy came to my house as promised and spent considerable time discussing our needs and thoughts on how the deck would be used and color schemes.   ANdy then came back about 1 week later and showed a detailed design, including a 3-d image.  He tweaked the image based upon different colors and discussed composite vs. wood and wood structure vs. steel.  He spent a great deal of time with us and was very attentive to our thoughts.  

Price:

The estimated price of $17650 was more than what others quoted me, but only because I upgraded to steel and had lighting.  The cost without these 'extra's was lower than what other companies quoted me.

Scheduling

 Andy gave me a rough idea of when the deck would be installed and handled the permits for the city.   He also helped me get HOA approval by providing the necessary documentation.   As the scheduled date came close Andy was responsive and provided updates on a regular basis.   The work was started about 1 week later than expected, due to weather.  This was not an issue and totally understandable.

Day 1:

The delivery of materials began 1st thing in the morning and came at the exact time needed.   It was very well coordinated.

The crew lead by Luke, the co-owner came at around 8:30 and began to work immediately, by 11:00 the post holes were dug and approved by the city.  by 4:30, the group had the steel framing up about 90%.   I was amazed by how quickly and efficiently the work was done.   The site was kept clean and one of their crew went around my entire yard ensuring no trash was left behind.

While they had the post digger, I asked them if they could dig me a hole in my front yard for a flag pole, and I would pay them extra.  They said they would be happy to do it and did not charge me anything additional.   This was very nice of them.

Day 2:

The crew arrived at 8:00 and worked until 4:30, only breaking for lunch.   They finished the framing and then started the decking.  The decking was once again about 85% complete by the time they went home...again leaving the worksite extremely clean.   Their attention to cleanliness was impressive...I had seen one screw laying in the ground and the next time I went by there, it was picked up.

Day 3: 

The crew again arrived at 8:00 and worked until the job was completed.  They had a minor hiccup with not having enough brackets and had to go to the supplier to get some more, this delayed them about an hour or so...while they were waiting, I would have never known that there was an issue, since the others found work to do in the meantime.   They stayed until about 6:30.   The last thing they did was power wash the deck to ensure it was clean and ready to use.   They also scoured the ground for any trash/debris...they even picked up the saw dust from the lawn.  I inspected the deck one last time and seen one minor issue, that was immediately corrected with no question.

Overall:

The crew was courteous and respectful at all times.  Luke answered any and all of my questions as they arose.

I think this is the best firm that I have ever used for any home improvement project that I have done in the past 20 years.  I would recommend them to anyone.

Main project went pretty well.  Guys were there working on the property as expected and work went pretty smoothly.  We are happy overall with the quality of the deck, but still have issues with the RainEscapes product that was applied to keep water from coming in below the deck.  Have contacted them numerous times to address the situation without being resolved.  Be careful to also ask that your information is not provided to the owners father who likes to send you solicitations for investment advice.  Generally, these guys did a good job, but lack of professionalism and followup have soured our overall impression.

We had Dream Decks replace two vertical support posts on our deck.  Even though the job was small, Andy sent out Luke who gave an estimate and then replaced the existing posts with new lumber.  The work was completed in a professional, timely manner, with good communication.  We intend to call Dream Decks for our future projects.  Thanks.

Met with DreamDecks after several several frustrating months of unsuccessfully getting a design that worked for us from another potential contractor.   Andy requested email photos and drew up an initial plan, on his computer, by our first meeting.  He then spent several hours fine tuning that design with us at our house, and left us with a quote and a design we liked by the end of the meeting.
Work started 3 weeks earlier than scheduled and was completed in 4 1/2 days.  The crew was prompt, pleasant, hard working and  cleaned up the area every night before they left.   I made a few additional requests during the construction and everything was handled promptly and without a problem. 
Although we had a slight reservation about the color combination Andy had recommended for us, we went with it and now see how well it all works together.  The deck looks great and we love our new space!

They were on time, kept work area clean, and finished tge project on time. We used TREX, a high rated composit. Deck is up now for nearly one year and there have been no problems. Andy was very professional. Deck designs is beautiful!

We had three companies come out and look at the old deck and suggest concepts for replacement. Andy was prompt to set an appointment and come out to make his presentation, but then we never got a written proposal. (That is why I rated responsiveness as good rather than excellent.) We did then get together and sign a contract. Timing for the construction was able to be moved up and weather was good and allowed for construction to run smoothly. The deck really looks great. Fit and finish detail is very good.
From start to finish, the project took less than a week, and the worksite was cleaned up nicely.  It's difficult to rate prices as excellent, as this was a costly project. Their pricing was a bit higher than other quotes... but I feel that the quality of the Dream Decks project was better than what the other companies had to offer.

We first found Dream Decks while visiting the flea market at Hartville, where we approached them at their booth. They had some amazing photos of different projects that they had done, great handouts to get us started, and a knowledgeable associate that was able to answer our questions and schedule a design appointment. The designer then came out to our house and took measurements and spent several hours working with my husband to design the perfect deck for our location and incorporate everything that we wanted into it. We then got down to the nitty gritty of hashing out details and setting a date for the project to start. Our project was slated to start on October 6th. The week before we received a call letting us know that they would be on schedule to arrive and start that day. Dream Decks showed up that day and started the project. They dug the holes and did all of the leg work on getting it approved by the inspectors. The project was finished within a week of the start date and looks amazing. The guys at Dream Decks were great to work with, they even came out to our house 2 weeks early to mark out the deck so when our patio was poured it would all line up. They represented themselves in a very professional and friendly manner. They were neat and clean and did not leave a mess or destroy our yard in the process of building. We couldn't be happier with the finished product. It is truly something that my family will get years of enjoyment out of!!!

All went well. The work was very satisfactory and I would highly recommend them.
