TMAK Restoration

We hired TMAK Restoration for a complete basement renovation, and the results are beyond what we imagined. From the very beginning, we were guided through every stage with patience and expertise. The project was completed ahead of schedule, and the craftsmanship is top-notch. We were especially impressed with how they handled our custom bar and lighting fixtures. Would absolutely use them again.

Mike renovated our kitchen a few years ago and then one of our bathrooms this summer. He is GREAT to work with--very good communication, transparent and fair pricing, great crew that works with him, high quality work. He is very willing to discuss options and make adjustments along the way. For example, I am very tall so when I saw that the bar across the top of the sliding shower door was way too low, without hesitating Mike said he'd find and install a taller door. He removed the original door and installed the taller door without charging more. Can't say enough good things about Mike!

When I moved into my house in 1992 it was modern and chic. However, after 33 years it was an eyesore. Mike was very professional and patient throughout the entire process. He was the third contractor I had look at the job and his personality and knowledge and reasonable estimate convinced me to hire him. I really wasn't sure what I wanted the new kitchen to look like, but he guided me through several possibilities. He met with me at various warehouses and show rooms so I could make rational decisions for countertops, back splash and kitchen cabinets. He took me to his cabinet makers shop so I could see various options. He was willing to make revisions in designs to accommodate the changes in my thinking as the project evolved and as I expanded the project to include the family room and painting of hallways and other bathrooms. He explained the process and when and why each step had to be done. I am very pleased with the outcome of the entire project.

TMAK Restoration just finished turning my sad and ugly 1980’s kitchen into the beautiful heart of the home it was meant to be. After talking to several other contractors and getting quotes from each, we hired Mike McCandless and his team. Right from the get-go I was impressed with his candor and honesty. The entire job was going to be a challenge and we knew we were going down for a lot of money, which is why finding THE right people was so important. We extended the work to include a full gut on the laundry room, and painting throughout most of the house. We’re talking a BIG job! Mike and his team were amazing! The kitchen is 90% complete (waiting on flooring) and it is like a dream come true. They were extremely helpful with every aspect of the work. They walked me through everything, things I never thought about or considered since this is my first big remodel. Everyone was skilled, patient, professional, and prompt. It only took a few weeks, not months to get a working kitchen and laundry room back. My neighbors were shocked at how quickly and efficiently the work got done! The value offered for service was excellent. They always went above and beyond my expectations. We kept adding little things to their work load which they graciously tackled without any problem. When spending such a significant amount of money on such an important part of our lives, I prayed that we would make the right choice. We absolutely did! Our home is more beautiful than it’s ever been and we will get to enjoy living here for many many years to come. I wholeheartedly recommend TMAK Restoration for any job, big or small!

Very professional and attentive to the quality of the work

TMAK Restorations remodeled my kitchen. Mike and Jim were a great help in planning the updated layout and ordering the cabinets. Nick and Mike handled the demo, which included removing the plaster walls and ceiling down to the studs. Mike handled all the electrical updates including installing recessed lights and multiple outlets. Nick did a fantastic job with the drywall, plumbing, and installing the cabinets, including some custom work around a radiator and an unusual corner cabinet. Nick saved and re-installed the existing wood trim, and created matching custom framing to replace the deteriorated trim around the kitchen window. Nick also painted the trim, ceiling, and walls and installed the backsplash. TMAK went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the finished product. I highly recommend TMAK, not only for their craftsmanship but also their willingness to accommodate the challenges posed by remodeling a kitchen in an older home.

I have never gone through a remodel process before so, I was really apprehensive. However, when Mike's team got onsite and I saw the daily progression, I was excited. Whenever I had questions or concerns, they were addressed immediately. The service provided was outstanding. I had a small Parma kitchen and the design has given me so much more space and it's beautiful. I'm so happy I went with TMAK. I highly recommend them!

Remodel went very well. TMAK team was very courteous, knowledgeable and neat. Quality of fit and finish met my expectations. I would not hesitate to have them design my next project.

Excellent in every way. We had an unusual problem with the way the previous owner had installed counter and sink adjacent to a double window and Mike almost declined to take this job because of the potential problems stemming from this. He figured out a design that almost doubled the amount of counter space and it really looks great. Mike and his carpenter Nick were a pleasure to work with. Mike recommended a designer from Carter Lumber, Denni, who was also very helpful and great to work with

Mike and his team did an amazing job on my major kitchen remodel. I am sure I drove him crazy with all my questions and changes, but he was always gracious and patient, even driving over to answer a question in-person.
