He did a great job.  He was able to look at the furniture at my home and then he was able to haul the furniture to his shop to do the work. He was the only one doing the work. His final results were excellent.

A tree was blown into my home causing severe structural damage. The furniture in the room that was destroyed was a bedroom set that was purchased by my Dad for my Mom as a wedding gift in 1938. There was a lot of water damage and quite a few dings and dents. I am very sentimentally attached to this set and I wanted the job done right. I had 4 estimates before choosing Chip. From the outset it was obvious that he takes great personal pride in his work. He and his crew took great care in moving the furniture in and out of my home. He requested that I come look at the furniture after it was stripped so that I could be sure of the color and finish I wanted.(The other companies did not  give me an opportunity to do this). The finished set arrived in my home spotlessly clean. It was more beautiful than I remembered it from my childhood! Chip is truly a gifted craftsman. I will use him again as well as recommend him at every opportunity.

The Finishing Room's owner provided us with a verbal quote and refused to give a written quote. There was no paper trail whatsoever. We had to insist on a written receipt of payment. Accessibility is extremely poor. The owner rarely answers his shop phone or his cell phone and does not return calls promptly. In many cases, it took days to reach him. Quality of work was poor. There were numerous quality issues, which included uneven color, and unstained areas. These were eventually corrected except on the table and buffet. A new leaf was constructed, which did not fit properly. The Finishing Room was unable to correct this, so we were given a credit. Turnaround time is poor. The entire ordeal, from start to finish, took 16 weeks and 5 days. We are still unhappy with the table and buffet. They don't even look the same color - splotchy and uneven stain even after being reworked. We would appreciate a refund on both as we have to get them refinished again.

He called me right back about the work, it took a long time to get the chairs back, longer than the time originally indicated, due to car problems. I had to ask him for a receipt and he wrote the price on a card.

They were prompt and did an excellent job.

CHIP IS ONE OF THE BEST PROFESSIONALS THAT YOU WILL FIND! HE IS FRIENDLY, INCREDIBLY KNOWLEDGEABLE & FAIR. WE ARE JUST TRYING TO COORDINATE A GOOD TIME FOR HIM TO COME OUT TO SEE THE PIECES, BUT HIS BALLPARK FIGURES OVER THE PHONE ARE FAIR. I PLAN TO USE THIS PROFESSIONAL TIME & TIME AGAIN TO BRING OLD PIECES BACK TO LIFE! EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT! Chip is one of the most professional people that you will ever deal with - extremely responsive, helpful, fair, timely and does excellent work! He calls RIGHT back and is an absolute pleasure to work with. He had me go in to his workshop to pick out the stain for the items - putting the different ones on the pieces themselves so that I knew exactly what the piece would look like with that finish. Satisfaction guaranteed!

MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS EXCELLENT. THE FINISHING ROOM GAVE ME A LOWER ESTIMATE THAN OTHER COMPANIES. EVEN WHEN THEY REALIZED THAT THE JOB WOULD TAKE MORE THAN THEY ORIGINALLY THOUGHT, THEY STUCK WITH THE LOW ESTIMATE. THE MAN WHO CAME OUT WAS FRIENDLY AND STRUCK UP A GOOD RAPPORT WITH MY SON.

HE IS A CRAFTSMAN. HE DOES MIRACLES WITH WOOD. HE GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND. HE WORKS WITH YOU.

HE HAD TO COME AND TAKE THEM ALL BACK AND DO IT AGAIN BECAUSE I COULD SEE THE GREEN PAINT. I THINK IT NEEDED MORE COATS THAN HE THOUGHT. IT WAS VERY HARD TO GET IN TOUCH WITH HIM. I FINALLY GOT IN TOUCH WITH HIM AND TO HIS CREDIT HE CAME BACK AND MADE IT ALL RIGHT.

HE APPEARS TO BE SOMEONE WHO REALLY LOVES WHAT HE DOES.

I WILL CALL THEM AGAIN WHEN I WANT TO REFINISH MY DINING ROOM TABLE.

CHIP WAS A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH. HE IS VERY BUSY BUT HIS WORK IS TRULY TOP QUALITY. I WOULD NOT HESITATE AT ALL TO SAY CALL HIM FOR YOUR BIGGEST, BEST AND HARDEST JOBS.
