Real Estate Service
Six weeks ago I submitted an offer to purchase a home in the Cleveland
Heights area. The property was a Fannie Mae owned property and this
company was the realtor representing the seller. After I submitted my
initial offer a representative from the agent's office let my realtor know
that another offer was on the table. So I upped my offer to a higher
price. When my realtor did a little more digging he discovered that the
offer that was supposedly on the table had been rejected several days
before by the seller and that their was no second offer anymore.
Conclusion - they either deliberately mislead us or they just are poorly
organized. We then decided that since there really this "second offer" on
the table we were going to resubmit a 3rd offer that reflected the price on
our initial offer. We submit - a week or so goes by and we find out that
our offer had been accepted. Sounded great - turns out the seller's agent
never submitted our revised offer and the accepted price was for the
higher amount (the price we submitted when we were mislead into
thinking that there was another offer on the table). After a few more
submissions we finally had an offer that was accepted through fannie
mae. The only thing left to do was to have the sellers agent (subject of
complaint here) submit the purchase agreement to Fannie Mae to sign. A
few days go by and still no word - mean while I had started the process
to obtain a mortgage so now time was ticking. We finally get word from
this agent that Fannie Mae had kicked back the paper work because the
seller's agent submitted a Purchase Agreement for the wrong property.
So they updated the paperwork, I re-signed what I needed, to sign and
then we resubmitted only to find that Fannie had cancelled the offer. So
resubmitted one more time and our final offer got rejected due to another
cash offer that was on the table. Poor customer service that not only
cost me time but money. Dishonest or disorganized - whatever the case
they need to get their act together
