We had a patio installed in our backyard.  The patio was made of stone pavers and a stone wall with small pillars at each end.  Tom, the owner, was very helpful with recommendations for the design and never got upset with the numerous questions that I had!  We had originally thought we wanted a smaller patio but Thank Goodness Tom explained how the amount of furniture that we planned to put on it would make the space crampt and we designed a new and wonderful patio.  The floor of the patio is made from Bellgrade pavers and  the walls/pillars from Unilock stone.  Tom asked if we would like lighting, which we hadn't even thought about, and he suggested different styles.  He allowed us to make changes to the patio up to and during the installation.  We told Tom that we had a tight time line as we needed it to be completed by a specific date.  James, our wonderful job manager, arrived as per our contract and worked extremely hard and very efficiently.  Tom came to review the work daily and answer questions/concerns.  The patio was completed on time!  We now have a patio that has a beautiful comfortable flow from our deck and also has a wonderful Italian feel, which I definitely wanted, along with a relaxing ambiance from the soft lighting that was installed.  Tom was also exrtremely helpful with comments when I asked about some uplighting in the decorative trees that we had in our backyard near the patio.  We have had numerous parties on the patio and received compliments each time.  We can definitely recommend Stoneway. 

Outstanding! Tom Majer, the owner, is fantastic. One of the best experiences we've ever had with a contractor, period. His staff is very polite, neat and hard working. His estimate was very reasonable relative to some of the others that we received. So much so, that I was concerned about an apples to apples comparison and was wondering if I was missing something. I was also reading about some other contractors with larger operations not being very responsive if your project wasn't big enough to make it worth their while. Stoneway does all sorts of projects from big (much larger than ours) to small. (Our neighbors had them do a small front walkway) Once we selected Stoneway, we worked with Tom and his plan designer on some plans. They gave us several different options based on our budget and came up with many different ideas which were better than our initial thoughts. Tom was also very patient with us, helping to answer questions, coming out to discuss in person different approaches on many occasions. Once they started the work, they had to do more work by hand since the weather had been so wet, their ability to use bigger equipment was limited to avoid tearing up the back yard to get the equipment in. They were working on another project at the same time so they weren't able to be there every day. However, this expectation was set very clearly with us at the beginning, so was fine w/ us, as we weren't in a big rush. The patio has come out great and exceeded our expectations which were already very high. I can't say enough good things about them. Excellent, fantastic, high quality and all very reasonable! We will hire Stoneway again for some more work over the next year or so for Phase II of our back yard. Angie's List should give them some sort of award. My sense is that Stoneway is a little under the Angie's List radar b/c they aren't a huge operation.

Tom worked with us every step of the way to design and install a beautiful outdoor area. When the excavation was tougher than planned due to heave clay, Tom and his team just handled it. When some small settling occurred a year later, Tom came back out and reset the settled area for free. Tom was a pleasure to work with and a professional, conscientious person throughout. Highly recommended.

They did a great job. They were able to use all the original pavers. So I didn?t have to pay for the materials. They did a really good job on utilization. I paid $5000 for the original job.

I contacted Tom at Stoneway, along with several other companies. I discussed the project with the various providers. Some were hard to reach. Others wasted my time by visiting the property to take measurements, discussing the design, and then never calling back with an estimate or even to simply decline the job. Tom was responsive and honest from the outset. He told me that if he felt the job was either too small or too difficult or whatever, he would let me know. Tom worked with me and my wife on several rounds of design for this complex space. He was creative, professional, and responsive throughout the process. Once we finalized design, Tom gave a final estimate, which was reasonable. He was able to get our job started earlier than he committed, and he finished on time. The guys on the team were very hard working and courteous, and they did a great job of implementing our design. We are very happy we went with Tom and Stoneway, and we are very satisfied with the result.

Stoneway was professional in every way possible. From the initial quote to the final presentation, the company did a fantastic job. Tom & his crew showed up for work on time & were very mindful of the property & house during the work. Most importantly, the quality of the work far exceeded our expectations. Worked in poor weather conditions with numerous days of rain. Crew was friendly & polite. Did not waste time & were very efficient with the time on the job. Stoneway only uses Unilock materials (a high quality stone paver product) which limits the confusion of other products & more importantly, installation methods. Highly recommend Stoneway.

TOM WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL. GAVE PLAN, SKETCHED IT OUT WITH SPRAY PAINT TO GET AN IDEA ON SIZE, & PICKED A PERFECT COLOR TO MATCH THE HOUSE. JOB TOOK A FEW DAYS. THE PATIO LOOKS INCREDIBLE & EXACTLY AS EXPECTED.

THIS WAS A WONDERFUL REMODELING EXPERIENCE. WE MET TOM AT A HOME IMPROVEMENT SHOW AND HE CAME OUT AND PATIENTLY WORKED WITH US TO DERTIME THE SHAPE PATIO WE WANTED AND THE TYPE OF MATERIAL WE WANTED. TOM WAS PROMPT TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS THAT CAME UP AND HE QUOTED US A VERY FAIR PRICE FOR THE JOB. HE AND HIS WORKERS WERE INCREDIBLY PROFESSIONAL, PROMPT AND NEAT. THEY SPENT SOME VERY HOT DAYS IN THE BACKYARD AND NEVER ASKED TO USE ANYTHING IN OR OUT OF THE HOUSE. THEY NEVER BOTHERED US IN ANY WAY. THE CLEAN-UP AFTERWARDS WAS GREAT. THE FINISHED JOB IS BEAUTIFUL AND WE HAVE ENJOYED IT FOR NEARLY A YEAR NOW WITH NO PROBLEMS AND MANY, MANY COMPLIMENTS.
