STAPLES THE OFFICE SUPERSTORE

Staples performed a free computer check and found problems. I paid $69 for a computer analysis. After completing the analysis, Staples then asked for another $80 to fix the found problems. (I thought the $69 was for the analysis and fixing.) Three days later, Staples calls to say the computer is fixed. But, when the technician demonstrated that the computer problem was fixed, he realized that the problem was not fixed! Four days later, Staples calls to say the computer is fixed. The technician, again, demonstrated that the computer is fixed. Two of the three problems were fixed (including the most critical problem). Because of the "It's fixed. No, it's not fixed" situation and my having to make many trips to Staples and wait a week for the repair, the Staples' manager waived the extra $80 fee. So it cost me $69 and frustration and a week. (A competitor says, "If we can't fix it, you don't pay.") I get the computer home (finally) only to find an annoying "unknown device" message displayed on the monitor. I take the computer back to Staples where a technician finds a plug-in device on the back of the computer which had been  used in troubleshooting, but not removed prior to the customer picking up the computer. So that was another frustration and another trip to Staples. Conclusion: For computer repair and service, I would not return to Staples. For computer products and software and office supplies, however, I will continue to buy from Staples, as I have for many years, including flash drives and an external backup hard drive which I bought the day before taking in the computer.
