I had trouble installing DSL and they came out and installed another line for me which worked perfectly. Also, the DSL service is up 99% of the time.

I AM COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH IT. BASICALLY, I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH USING THE INTERNET SO FAR. IT IS RELATIVELY CHEAP TO GET IT THROUGH THEM. I ONLY USE IT TO LOOK AT NEWS SO I DON'T NEED ANY OF THAT HIGH SPEED INTERNET.

WE WERE VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE INITIAL HOOK UP OF SBC YAHOO INTERNET SERVICE IN OUR NEW HOME. WE WERE TOLD WE WOULD GET THE ADVERTISED DEAL OF $14/MONTH BUT THEN OUR BILL STATED IT AS $27/MONTH. WHEN I CALLED ABOUT IT, THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS RUDE. IN ADDITION, WE PAID $200 TO HAVE A PHONE LINE INSTALLED IN OUR OFFICE SPECIFICALLY FOR SBC INTERNET SERVICE. I NOW WISH WE'D GONE WITH A CABLE PROVIDER AND SAVED THAT EXPENSE. WE ALSO HAD MANY PROBLEMS GETTING THE CONNECTION TO WORK. WITH THESE TECHNICAL ISSUES YOU MUST CALL THEIR HELP DESK WHICH ALWAYS LEADS TO AN OVERSEAS/FOREIGN TECH OPERATOR AND IT CAN OFTEN BE A VERY FRUSTRATING PHONE CALL. WHEN OUR AGREEMENT IS UP, I PLAN TO SWITCH.

I'M VERY PLEASED WITH THE FUNCTIONALITY OF THE SERVICE. THE WEB HOSTING SERVICE AND EMAIL IS VERY RELIABLE. IT IS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH. AS LONG AS YOU DON'T HAVE TO TALK WITH A HUMAN THERE, YOU'RE IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE. I WAS ON THE PHONE FOR 45 MINUTES TRYING TO GET SOMEONE WHO COULD HELP ME WITH A PASSWORD ISSUE AND NO ONE I TALKED WITH WAS ANY HELP. THEY PASSED ME AROUND TO DIFFERENT NUMBERS AND TO DIFFERENT PEOPLE AND IT WAS AN UNACCEPTABLE LEVEL OF SERVICE. THE PERSON I EVENTUALLY GOT ON THE PHONE SAID "WELL, YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO CALL BACK SOME OTHER TIME."

IVE MADE SEVERAL PHONE CALLS AFTER MY LAST 3 BILLS TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER. THEIR AUTOMATED ANSWERING SYSTEM IS TOO LONG AND CONFUSING & 2 DEPARTMENTS KEEP BLAMING EACH OTHER FOR THIS MESS UP INSTEAD OF FIXING IT.

COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE. WE HAD AMERITECH DSL FOR 8 MONTHS. IT WOULD GO DOWN ALL THE TIME. TECH SUPPORT WAS REALLY BAD. EVERY TIME I WOULD CALL, THEY WOULD TELL ME SERVICE WAS DOWN IN CLEVELAND. THEN AFTER 24 HOURS, I WOULD TALK TO A MANAGER AND HALF THE TIME SERVICE WAS FINE IN CLEVELAND, THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH MY LINE. TIME AND AGAIN THIS HAPPENED. THEY FINALLY FIXED IT AFTER THE 15TH TIME OR SO. WE WERE OFFLINE AS MUCH AS WE WERE ON. THE TECH SUPPORT STAFF SAYS WHATEVER WILL GET YOU OFF THE PHONE THE FASTEST. WE CHANGED TO ADELPHIA. IT IS CHEAPER, FASTER AND MUCH MORE RELIABLE.

THEY SEND YOU THE DSL MODEM IN THE MAIL WITH A SELF-START KIT IF YOU CAN HOOK IT UP YOURSELF, OR YOU CAN OPT TO PAY $200 & HAVE THEM INSTALL IT FOR YOU. NO WAITING TIME AT ALL FOR DOWNLOADS! IT IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE.

IN JULY, AMERITECH SWITCHED THEIR SERVICE TO SOMETHING CALLED TDMA. MY CELL PHONE HAS NOT WORKED PROPERLY SINCE. CALLS ARE UNCLEAR, I WAS UNABLE TO RECEIVE CALLS AND FREQUENTLY COULD NOT PLACE CALLS. WHEN I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY WOULD DENY THEYRE WERE ANY SYSTEMS PROBLEMS. I FINALLY REACHED SOMONE WHO ADMITTED THERE WAS A PROBLEM AND TRIED TO HELP ME. SHE GAVE ME CREDIT ON MY BILL AND TRIED TO SECURE EQUIPMENT FOR ME TO MAKE THE PHONE WORK PROPERLY.
