Like clock work. Easy to communicate with. Price was competitive. I had a personal scheduling situation which they accommodated. It was a total pleasure to work with the on site supervisor and the office personnel.

Perfectly. The crew performed the prep work perfectly, and the sealcoating product was applied generously.

They did an awesome job. This year I got four companies to quote this project and Protect a Cote was last one due to my final review of going to Angie's List. They were the least expensive and Phil and John did a GREAT job. They were professional, courteous and completed the job quickly. They also brush seal coated instead of a pressurized spray sealcoating which we had done in the past. I am not sure if one is better than the other but in my opinion time will tell (we have now had both). It looks great - this company is my "go to" sealcoating company and I would DEFINATELY request Phil and John again.

One of the best experiences we’ve had with Angie’s list. Everything worked perfectly. — even though we postponed from one year to the next. I had taken two other bids. And also had done a “testing” of three companies over several years for seal coating, and decided this was the best choice. (We had this confirmed when our neighbor also use this company, completed their job just before ours – and were thrilled.) Also their business practices are very fair and customer-focused.

They did a very good job and got the entire driveway completed in one day. I gave them good ratings in everything but Responsiveness because I never got the callbacks for scheduling when I was supposed to and had to always initiate a call to them to get any information. That was the only thing I was unhappy with.

The service was prompt, communication prior to the work was good. The quality was sub-par - sealcoating material was splashed on the rock wall and the garage door, and two large areas (about 3 feet) were only lightly coated and I can already see the driveway through the material. But the guys were nice, quick and quiet. I didn't notice the splashed areas or the deficiencies until later or else I'm sure they would have fixed everything right away.

The service is good , the price is reasonable.

I received a quote within a week of inquiry. Work was scheduled promptly and the crew completed the job in just over half a day. It looks great!

Work was not done according to company's literature & was not satisfactory. Company did not respond to letter with accompanying photos of unsatisfactory work even though only partial payment made until resolution sought Angie's List. Owner then responded quickly and issues were resolved.

It was very fast and easy. They responded quickly to our email inquiry, sent someone out to evaluate, emailed the quote within three day of our initial inquiry, and came in under our budget. We immediately accepted the quote and then waited for a break in the weather, which came within a week. The whole process took less than two weeks from inquiry to finished service.

Protect-a-cote did a great job for a reasonable price. I was impressed by their knowledge and professionalism. They were very responsive and even came back and touched up a couple areas that didn't seem quite perfect. I would recommend to family and friends.

The work seemed correct at first, however we would occasionally have the sewer cover pop off and break when we would drive over it. We broke about 5 of them (at $75.00 each) and kept getting new ones, not really sure of the problem. Finally over time, the problem got much worse and the outer wall of the sewer started crumbling which meant that the sewer covers started not just breaking but flying around when you drive over them. We called Fred to see what the issue was and he admitted that he did the job incorrectly to begin with and promised a simple fix of grinding down the sides. It took him about a month to do the fix,which actually fixed the problem. The issue is that during the time between when we contacted him and the fix was completed, the sewer cover popped up violently and did about $2,300 worth of damage to the fender and underbody of my car. I filed a claim with my insurance company, which covered the repair. I now have a claim on my insurance record as well as $1,000 out of pocket deductible payment a result. I have since contacted Fred to get the name of his insurance company so that they can work things out regarding ultimate liability and Fred has not responded to 2 emails that I have sent him. He clearly did not do a bad job on purpose by cutting corners and I think it was an honest mistake. He genuinely seemed to want to do the right thing here as he has admitted to the mistake and fixed it, albeit about 3 weeks too late, but he has thus far refused to take responsibility for the damages caused by his mistake. All he needs to do is give me the name of his insurance company and this will be cleared up. I am not going to try to get reimbursement for the cost of the 5 drain covers that broke. I do hope he contacts me with his insurance information so that I can update this report with a positive outcome.

UPDATE:

After posting this review, Fred replied with the insurance information that I had requested. I am not sure if posting this helped to speed up his reply, but either way, he has now done what was required. I wanted to update this review as such. In addition, I have updated my overall letter rating of his service. While he may not be the most punctual contractor I have worked with, I do think he is an overall reliable contractor who did not intentionally do anything incorrectly.

There are a few cracks I asked them to fill, and they either used sealant in them instead, which didn't take, or when they did use the crack filler down the one in the center of my driveway, now it has parts that are filled and parts that have holes. They?ve been very polite, but haven?t come back to fix it. Now we?re in a time crunch, because we?re almost out of warm weather, and this needs to be fixed before it's too cold.

The coat put on the cracks in my asphalt driveway did not seal completely. |I called and the receptionist said I was on the list.  Then finally a call to come out and repair the cracks and they never showed up.  The first service call was ok.

The installation went well and the drive looks great.
