Parma Air

During day 1 of moving weekend, the air conditioner broke. Parma Air confirmed our fears and said our unit was dead. With a storm approaching, they quickly removed the broken unit and installed a brand new one in its place. We thought our hot summer days were over, but after a month of leaks in the basement we found out they failed to make sure the inside existing coils were powerful enough to work with the new unit. We choose to go to a different company to fix the problem. Nonetheless, Parma Air was prompt and they did their best to help us new homeowners out! Only wished they followed through with our original issue since the other company said when you replace one, you replace/check the other.  Also wished they wrote down the old unit's serial number before it got hauled away so our home warranty would've covered the costs. Lessons learned all around.

After arriving at my house and checking out the furnace he said I needed a whole new furnace that my heat exchanger was cracked and gas was flowing back into the house. The way he checked the level of gas was by taking off the cover and put the meter directly next to the burners while running. Seems to me it would always be high at that point and he never checked air coming from the register. The only reason I decided to go with a new furnace was because after checking we found that our old furnace was 25 yrs old. I had already thrown some money into the year before and didn't want it to turn into a money pit. We said we were tight on money so he suggested a low end model luxaire 75,000 btu's 90% efficiency for $2000 installed. The extra 75$ was for the warehouse to open on the weekend so they could pick up the unit. When he went to pick it up he called me and said they were charging $300 not $75. I said noway and he said he would pick it up Monday morning under normal hours. He did offer to drop off electic heaters until they arrived on Monday. I declined. After the install was done I came home to find garbage on the floor and the connections not sealed with large gaps between them. I called and he said he would be back in two days. NEVER showed up. I didn't feel like dealing with them anymore so I cleaned up the mess and sealed the gaps myself. I will say the luxaire furnace they installed has been running beautifully for the past two years. Happy with the cheaper model but NOT the service.

Very responsive to phone calls, gave good advice and did good, efficent work as far as I can tell.   Called a hour before scheduled arrival time to say they couldn't make it the first day, and reschedule for the next day, which I didn't appreciate.

They problem is still not fixed, the unit is not working efficiently but he is done working with them. Their work is fine until we asked them to come back out and then they failed.

It’s been a great experience. They were very helpful and knowledgeable. They were able to resolve an issue and dig a little deeper with our HVAC system and saved me money that another company wanted to charge me for. A wire had come lose and the other company wanted to replace the whole unit, while Parma Air was able to fix the problem without having to replace anything. He’s a good guy and comes from an experienced family in his line of work.
