We started by first meeting with Tony and discussing what the overall project was going to entail. We then met him at various local Tile shops to go over the different materials, looks, finishes. Once we knew what we wanted from accent pieces to trim work, we were provided and estimate of square footage required along with rough estimates of time, labor, prep materials, and cost.
Travertine is not an inexpensive material and this was our choice for the Master Bathroom.
Once the project started, we worked with Tony on a regular basis to discuss how they various layouts were going to work and we did change things a couple times with no resistance from Tony and company. We knew going into this project that we would need to be flexible given what we were trying to do.
I will say that the amount of effort involved in prepping the walls and floors with leveler then Schluter water proofing system was quite involved and set a solid base for the rest of the project. The expectation is that we will never have a cracked tile given the foundation that was installed.
I for a fact know that our Master shower was very complex with many different tile sizes and layouts. All walls, ceiling and floor were tiled with a highlight tile around the walls 2/3rds of the way up, along with a bench and archway to provide the artistic touch. This project was very involved and it went well.
